    Kale & Avocado

Went here for brunch after church and it was really good. We had the kale pizza and kale and avocado salad very very good. I also had a drink, but I can't remember the name of it. Our server was very kind and attentive. It was very cozy as we sat by the upstairs window watching everyone go about their day is very nice and cozy inside as the day was chilly. The vibe here is friends gathering for brunch

I've been here 3 times now, so it's time for me to review! Luxbar is a very convenient place to eat if you're in Gold Coast. It's in an area with a bunch of restaurants, but I always find myself coming here. It's your standard American menu with steak, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. I got the Lux burger with cheese and bacon. Honestly, the bacon was way overcooked, crunchy, and hard to eat, but I can't say it ruined the meal. I asked for a Sprite, but I'm 99% sure it was Sierra Mist/Starry or Sprite Zero or something. I know it wasn't Sprite, though. It wasn't good. I went on New Year's Eve, and it was decorated so nicely! Lux already has a beautiful restaurant, but the balloons they had all around downstairs and upstairs were really cute. We were given the option to sit downstairs where there was more action, or upstairs where it was a bit quieter, which I appreciated. Our server was very kind and nice. I really liked her vibe, and I wish I remembered her name to give her a shoutout here. Of course, I'd recommend coming here. Despite the small hiccups, I do still find Luxbar to be a pretty good restaurant.

I've been to Luxbar multiple times, its a good spot to get drinks / some bites. I went for lunch Sunday with some friends, the server took a while to make his rounds before he got back to us. Once our food was ready, the food runner set it out next to both doors. The food runner just left it there for almost 10 minutes until we called our waiter over to ask if it was our food that was sitting there. People were walking in and out, waiting for their tables, and exiting the building. All within inches of the food. Kinda gross, but honestly the food here is pretty solid but nothing amazing overall. It's more of a spot for ambiance.

We came here for dinner on a Saturday evening around 6:15. We were seated in the back. Inside it was loud and I felt like everyone had to yell a little to hear each other. The menu has a variety of sandwiches, salads, and pizzas, We started with the Wagyu Pigs in a Blanket and Sweet chili Fried calamari to share with the table. The pigs in a blanket were good. I don't love calamari but i liked the peppers and the sauce that came with it was very good. I then ordered the Lux Club. Ordering was a little hard because our waitress could not hear very well and she didn't understand any questions that we asked. The club was okay, it was very large and filling but I thought it was a little bland. I asked for it to be warmed and then they forgot and it took about 15 minutes to come out after everyone else's food came out. I wish I ordered a salad because my friend ordered one and it looked very good. Overall the portions were very large and I thought the prices were great for what we got.

Came here for restaurant week, and what a beautiful interior. They have so much seating with two levels and amazing booths that are so comfortable. The service was so amazing and accommodating as well. The food, however, was not the best. The best things I tried was the tuna taco and the apple crumble. Everything else lacked flavor and the steak was improperly made based on how it was requested. For a restaurant week deal, it was not bad, but the flavors definitely lacked for such a gorgeous environment.

What can I say about Luxbar that hasnt been already said?! Its definitely a gem in the area an of course a staple. Patio is always full and the inside is usually packed. The Lux Royale burger is very good and it always nice to wash it down with Luxbar Old Fashioned. Came by for brunch recently and had a really good meal. Karla was our server and was really good. I got the Country Corned Beef hash and it was very good! Three Eggs over medium, hash browns, caramelized onions and mustard makes for a good dish! I got an english muffin also as you can choose a toast with the dish. Washed it all down with the Corpse Reviver which is a fantastic gin cocktail that includes lillet blanc, lemon and absinthe. One of my favorite places in the area...always a good time and good meal.

Highly recommend this place for brunch. Pro tip - make a reservation, this place is busy. The vibe is low key and local, the menu is short but there is something for everyone. The drink menu is fun. I had a Bloody Mary with the Miller High Life pony sized beer add on - really Fun and well made. The French omelette was perfect, the right amount of food so you feel like going to sleep after brunch. All the flavors are fresh and the service is good.

My wife and I decided to take a day off and do a self care day. We had massages scheduled for late afternoon, so we decided to check out Luxbar for lunch which was right around the corner. Let me start by saying the staff provided wonderful service. The food on the other hand did not stand out in the slightest. We ordered wings, calamari, salad and brussel sprouts. It was all just okay, nothing was memorable. Take this information as you may. If you're a person that eats to live come check it out. If you live to eat though.... It is just another data point to add to my hypothesis that Gold Coast has very limited amazing food options. It's more of a place to eat when you're to get deals done.

Came here Saturday day, vibes are so cute, and out waitress was sweet! I got a bloody, this was not good. Very watery/not much flavor. For lunch I got the French onion soup and the Reuben. The soup was great. The Reuben was very dry, could have used more sauce and flavor! I think this spot is popular for vibes and apps! For a good meal it was a miss.

We've been passing by Luxbar for years and decided to give it a try as we always see people dining here. The first floor has a lot of tables but there isn't much space between so it is a bit cramped. The bathroom is on the second floor with some additional tables. We ordered: - Handmade Guacamole - Buffalo Chicken Salad - Baby Back Ribs (half) We really enjoyed the guacamole, but the other two were just okay. They weren't bad, but had higher expectations. The waitress was very nice, I guess not enough chicken was ready for the salad when the ribs were ready, so they made quite a bit more and brought it out pretty quickly. Overall the place is pretty cool, but the food was a bit lacking comparatively.

This place was really cute. It's also a seat yourself except those that are reserved. I really loved the service here and rhe food was alright. We got their truffle fries and wagyu pig which was alright. It was just a regular hot dog wrapped in a pastry. The drinks were good and strong. We got their buzz worthy drink which has a hint of honey to it.

Was in Chicago for a girls trip and we made reservations for LUXBAR on the Saturday mistakenly instead of Friday, but we called them and they were still able to accommodate us and moved it to Friday! The restaurant was very bustling with people, I would not recommend if you are looking for quiet bite/dinner, but if you're looking for a fun night out this is definitely the place! The cocktails were truly amazing and our server was extremely attentive- props to their staff especially with how busy they were. He saw us looking around the room (for a restroom) and immediately came over to see what was up! The hummus was so good, and so were the pretzels. Everyone loved their meal- I got the steak frites and they were delicious, and came at a great price! I would love to come back with friends for a girls night out.

This was a really nice date at LuxBar for restaurant week 2025. This was my second time coming to this establishment. The first time that I came I only had a cocktail and it was during the early evening. On this occasion, the restaurant was packed. Originally, we had a reservation for the following evening, but because we were already out and about, we decided to see if we could do a walk-in on a Thursday evening. We were in luck, the place was packed, but as soon as we walked in a table had just cleared. The hostess was able to cancel our reservation for the following night and promptly seated us. The atmosphere was really electrifying at this restaurant on a Thursday evening. We were served by Alicia who was really sweet and very informative. Alicia was really good at making sure our drinks stayed cold and plentiful. Alicia also was good at making recommendations for the build your own Manhattan menu. It was restaurant week so we did order off the prefix menu. For appetizers we got the guacamole which was really fresh and then also the sliders. The guacamole was really good, but the sliders were just OK. They actually looked pathetic but tasted decent. There were no toppings for the sliders so we just use the guacamole. For our second course, we both got the steak which come with french fries because they were out of the ribs which I was looking forward to. However, there's always next time. During our meal, we did enjoy cocktails to include a spicy strawberry. My Margarita and my husband had a neat Manhattan for spirits. We also indulged in some of their complementary bread and the butter was very fresh. We ended our evening with getting our desserts to go because our parking was almost up and I didn't want to re-up. When we got home, we did enjoy the skillet cookie and ice cream and it was a nice completion to our evening. All in all this was a really successful restaurant week dinner service very good value for the price point. I would return to eat here.

Their fries are good, and actually stand out more than the burger. Everything is overpriced. I don't know why people complain about the wait; do some research like a responsible adult. I never just walk into a place and expect to be immediately seated, I call first - like anyone who has some sense. If they tell you the wait is 2 hours and you have 2 hours to kill, there are a bunch of bars in the area where you can have some drinks and an appetizer (and not feel like you're stiffing Au Cheval; they're the ones with the 2 hour wait, what do they expect people to do?) Not much to say about the decor or ambience; it's a typically loud West Loop bar with mostly 20 - 30 somethings all trying to one-up each other with their trendiness that instead makes them all basically clones of each other. It is crowded, and you're a moron if you think any place like this is suitable for your 5 year old. That's not the restaurant's fault - it's not Chuck E Cheese. Often I wish Yelp offered a 1/2 star option, because there are places that are a 4.5 or a 3.5. Not in this case. 3 stars is spot-on.

After doing a search on Yelp, I decided we should check out HIDE+SEEK. Ding ding ding! We have a winner folks. We decided to go with the Brunch Party. First let me start off saying that Brunch Party is one plate, one side, and endless mimosas. The entire table participation is required and there is a strict 1.5 hour time limit. That said, Angelique (was our server) was on point during that time period. Our glasses never got pass the half-way mark and a good time was had by all! HIDE+SEEK has a pretty chilled vibe and the décor was cool, a very nice bar area, booths on the east side of the restaurant and tables in the front. I think there was a back area, but can't for sure as I didn't explore as we were seated immediately in our booth. Angelique was very cool. She welcomed us and asked if it was our first time there (it was) and began to explain the menu, focusing on Brunch Party and that everyone at the table had to participate, which we did. For my entrée I got the Short Rib Hash (Sunny side up egg, piquillo pepper, red wine jus, rosemary mornay) and my side was Eggs Your Way (over easy). I got an order of the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes (honey-whipped ricotta, blueberry compote, maple syrup) for the table. Both dishes were very nice. I am a sucker for anything with short rib meat in it and this hit well with me. The pancakes were good, nice and fluffy, and the compote was very good. They weren't as lemony as I have had at other restaurants. The flavor was there, but in a subtle way, almost like an afterthought, but still nice. The pancakes themselves were nice and fluffy, just they way I like them. The Doctor got the cheeseburger and fries, which looked nice. He cleaned his plate so I have to assume it was good. The Queen got the Steak and Eggs. I had a bite of the steak and it was tender and had a nice flavor to it. Overall we had a great time and while it was only an hour and a half, it seemed longer. I will totally come back here again for brunch, but want to check out their happy hour and dinner as well. The menus looks interesting.

She also had no idea about the wine, so my friend just rolled the dice on what she wanted without knowing much about it. She wound up liking it - but more clarity would've been helpful (or even seeking out someone else working there for more info!). Minor environment note: The largest artwork there is a triptych of photographs - three famous women: Princess Diana, Sharon Tate (I think?), and Marilyn Monroe. There is a horizontal band going across where their eyes all line up, and the band replaces their eyes with cartoon eyes, likely of Disney princesses. It is supposed to be quirky but I found it creepy, especially since it featured three famous women who met untimely ends.

we got really lucky and was able to get a reservation same day. this place had a really nice vibe…read moreto it, it was really loud but love the open kitchen concept. the servers attention was a 10/10 it felt like a really good team. our water cups never got below half full and they clear plates and replace silverware like a high end restaurant. we started off with the salmon poke which we were skeptical of because of the price but omg we were blown away by the flavors. didn't think chili crunch and strawberry and salmon went together but it all tasted so good like a harmony in your mouth. the quality of salmon was good too. the goat empanadas were really tasty too, was a good dish nothing to stand out about them. it didn't really taste like goat which is good to me. and the pork shank was a huge portion. we were worried with the first two dishes we didn't order enough for two people but it was such a big portion it was the perfect amount of food for two people. we loved the different sides and sauces that came with it. the meat by itself was good but when you combine it with the greens pickled onion the sauce the pita it was soooo good. everything just worked really well together. we left the plate with no crumbs. really good meal. no complaints :)
