Gorgeous blonde highlights and extensions

Luxbae has given me the best hair of my life I have been coming to Luxbae for highlights and hair extensions for over a year, and I never want to go anywhere else. Why? Because they are confident, passionate professionals, and kind, sweet and warm human beings. As a "fake" blonde I have let many colorists in LA bleach and highlight my hair, and it ALWAYS results in over processed, dry, straw-like hair that feels nothing like my natural silky texture. I don't know how, but Luxbae has managed to keep my hair texture super healthy despite me getting new highlights every 3 months. Also, many stylists are anxious to highlight my hair in fear of damaging it, which shows me their inexperience. The first time I came to Luxbae, I asked them to match my natural hair to the extensions I brought and Suzi did it with no hesitation, no problem, quick and confident. And it turned out flawless!! I can't imagine my hair looking any better! Luxbae always gives me predictable results, gorgeous healthy hair that makes everyday a "good hair day". I recently had both hair bleaching and hair Botox done at Luxbae Salon and MedSpa Glendale, and I am beyond happy with the results. Suzy was the one who took care of me, and I truly trust her with my hair--she is amazing at what she does. I've been going to Luxbae Salon and Medical Spa in Glendale on and off, and every time I go I'm reminded how genuinely nice everyone is. The staff is so sweet and welcoming, not in a fake or overly salesy way. They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, and it never feels rushed or transactional. This time I came in for the Evolve X body contouring treatment using the Transform applicator with radiofrequency and EMS. I already work out and eat healthy, but wanted extra tightening and toning in my stomach area. After a few sessions, I'm really happy with the results. My skin looks tighter, more sculpted, and there's zero downtime or side effects. The technician was knowledgeable and explained everything clearly, which I appreciated. I also tried some of the products they carry. I've been taking the NIANCE Swiss gold collagen supplement and have noticed a difference in my hair and skin. I picked up a few Mansard Paris products as well and have been loving them. The pricing felt very fair compared to other European brands. I've also gotten my hair done here in the past (extensions), which is what brought me back. Overall, it's a genuinely friendly, welcoming place with great treatments and people who actually care!!

Two years ago, I went on a GLP-1 weight loss medication and while I successfully lost weight, I also lost something I wasn't prepared for -- a significant amount of muscle and volume in my buttocks area. Luxebae is the perfect salon. With services ranging from hair to skin care, it has everything you'll need. With techniques I've never seen before, there's nowhere else I'd go for my highlights. Lianne, my specific colorist and stylist, has never had me leave a highlight appointment with a single fried hair. I once came in with blue hair from a failed box black hair dye experiment the day before an event, and she completely fixed it for me. She truly is incredible. The salon itself has a welcoming atmosphere, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Not only do I come to Luxebae for hair, I also come for facials. Monroe Salon is amazing with blondes!!!! I have very fine, delicate hair and have done highlights for so long (I was bored of it years ago but thought it was my only option to keep my hair from falling out). Finally I found some where that can give me a modern blonde color without completely damaging my hair. I also struggled with extensions, finding the right kind that wouldn't pull out my hair. I used clip ins, I tried a sow in, and couldn't do ktips because of my hair texture. Monroe offers the best tape ins and they last forever! Overall great service, I would highly recommend going especially if you are thinking about going blonde. read more

I have no idea how these people have any business. There is one lady here that is apparently a "blonde specialist" lol more like frying specialist. I went to this lady with almost all my natural hair. I had hair that reached my lower back, and trust me when they were finished with me, it looked like i got a big chop (without an actual haircut). Mind you, 1 "hair stylist" and 2 assistants were running around the whole salon assisting multiple people, not one or two or three, but at least 6 other clients. She put in color remover 2 times and each session was an hour. After the color remover treatments, she proceeded to wash out my hair, and bleach it one time for 2 hours. It took her about an hour applying it to the bottom half of my hair going to another client and coming back to apply to the rest of my hair. She left it in for about an hour and checked it once and said "it's ready jan" lol ya ok. They pulled those plastic wraps PLASTIC WRAPS out my hair and washed it with olaplex. They charged me $380 for the 2 color removers, bleach, toner and blow dry. She told me to come back in 2 days because that's when she had her next available appointment. Being the ignorant person who trusted this salon, i went back. Behold, she bleached my hair not once for 1 hour, but twice. She applied the bleach the same way as described before, half mine, half blow drying another client, cutting someone else's, saying "sorry were so booked" and coming to finish applying mine. Same process, 2x. The toner she applied to my hair literally looked olive green, like pond water. And the next 3 inches of my hair looked a bit like honey blonde, the next bit after that had a green tint again and was soooo stringy(looked like cup noodles) then the tips were yellowy blond that she applied toner to make it a bit ashy. So i had a range of olive green mossy pond color, then honey yellow, then a green/grey cup noodle color, and tips ashy blonde. Charged me $400 for 2 bleach sessions, olaplex, toner. They didn't even dry it because the damage was so bad they probably didn't want me to see them frying off my hair. So they can say that i burned it while drying at home or something g I went in asking for dark brown shadow root with balayage. Basically a blended ombré. It probably would've looked better if i did it at home myself. Besides the horrendous colors, my hair was fried. The middle section was falling off at the slightest touch, and wouldn't dry for at least 3-4 days. The roots and ends were dry but the middle 5 inches was mushy and like stretchy. I've cried so many times out of frustration that my hair wouldn't dry on its own anymore. Final words: do yourself a favor and book a few one on one sessions with a PROFESSIONAL and caring stylist that will give your their undivided attention. Don't look at those deceiving pictures she posts. All those people's hair is dry and breaking off. one of the worst experiences I've had in my life. Haven't been to a salon ever since. Terrified. read more

The next morning after I got my hair done I noticed some wounds on my scalp. Couldn't brush through because of burning feeling. All my scallp got burn!!! With blood marks on it.When I called to noticed the salon about my situation. They were not surprised and had a very clueless attitude towards it!! I have been coming to get my hair done with Suzy for YEARS! My experience here has always been great, the staff are always so nice and they truly make me feel like I'm family. Suzy and the rest of her staff are incredibly talented, I am never disappointed with the way my hair turns out. I am always complimented on the color and health of my hair so I can't imagine going anywhere else to achieve my flawless blonde! Attention, anyone who has been BLONDE SHAMED! Yes blonde shaming is a thing , especially when you have dark/black hair. Are you CRAVING that blonde look? However when you tell your hairdresser you are met with "the look" and instead of golden locks you get a 30 minute lecture about how "bad" it is for your hair and how it "will not be possible" to achieve what you are looking for! I mean , they actually make you feel bad for wanting what you want! Well friends .. look NO further . I have finally found the QUEEN OF BLONDE! Suzy is a dream come true. She really LISTENED to me and made it her mission to make me happy & finally get me to the level of blonde I have been dying for; all the while preserving the integrity of my hair. (Seriously my hair was healthier leaving than when I walked in , how does she do it !) I was there for 5-6 hours and in that time I underwent MANY treatments. They do NOT play around. Yes, Suzy has several assistants however she is extremely involved and was constantly checking on me and my hair and they ran everything by her to get direction on next steps. I felt SO taken care of! My hair is naturally black and I've been undergoing foils and highlights and toning for the past couple years so I had a lot of color correction to do but Monroe Salon nailed it in ONE visit. I'll be going back in a few weeks to "finish up" my color because now I that I know I can go lighter I totally want to! Will post pictures then. Oh and just to mention I get nervous trying new places but everyone was super sweet and there was coffee and pastries and it was a very comfortable environment. Can't wait to go back ! Where do I start amazing salon with amazing stylist and assistants. Super clean and organized. This salon is AMAZING! Suzy, the master stylist, is very professional and talented. It was beautiful! Last week, I went really crazy and decided to go blond , although I was afraid to damage my hair. She bleached my hair, put all kinds of treatments, and asked me to come back few days later. I tried to convince her out of it just because I'm never patient, however, she wasn't convinced, only because she cared so much about my hair to not get damaged. I returned back few days after and got the the best color ever! In fact, I got 100 times better results than I expected (picture 5). Yes, don't make last minute appointments because the chances are that she'll have none. Suzy, the head colorist, does an *amazing* job to say the least! I had dark virgin hair and was super worried about coloring it but she made the whole process pleasant. I went from dark hair to platinum blonde balayage in a single day (it was a long process but totally worth it!). She made my hair look way *better* than what I originally wanted. I've been coming to Suzy with my mom since I was 6 years old and she would give me an annual trim :) She's been my only hairstylist my whole life and has never disappointed me. She's so passionate about her work, so professional and so knowledgeable. Over the years she's probably done every color of the rainbow on my head and it looked perfect every time. Ombré, balayage, platinum, pink, you name it we've done it. I've never left the salon less than perfect. Most recently I came to her after I let all my virgin hair grow out for a few years to do a subtle balayage and bleached stands in the front. She always delivers perfection! I'm a little late on the post but I am obsessed with my hair. I rarely post yelp reviews since I rarely feel so strongly about businesses and their products/services but let me tell you I feel strongly about this one. If you care about a genuinely honest review, here it is. I have been coming here for a couple of years now and always did my usual pearl blonde that I decided on from day 1 of coming to this salon, but a couple of weeks ago I decided that I needed a change. Let me just say that after going to multiple salons before coming here my hair was an absolute mess. Anywhere I would go my hair ended up dry, patchy, and dull. I was so frustrated with not being able to get the hair that I wanted that I was just going to throw a way the 5 years of bleaching and buy boxed hair dye to do it myself. Let me just say that all my hair prayers were answered as soon as I booked my first appointment here about 3 years ago. My hair was transformed immediately into something you would see in a magazine. I noticed that my hair stopped falling out and breaking off like it used to, I never saw any off color patches in my hair, and my hair started to grow again! This ended up being longer than I thought but if you made it this far, keep reading cause I have some final words. Hair is one of the most important features for me so this entire review is pure honesty. I can't begin to express how grateful I am for Suzys being! If you're looking for someone to change your blonde game, look no further. She's also by far the GREATEST -of all time- at blow outs. Just trust me and try her. You'll be hooked, just like I am! Love all the girls here! They wash your hair so good you feel as if you have a new head on your shoulders lol. I got my eyebrows microbladed by Parisa who is nothing short of fabulous! The salon is clean and has a good vibe about it. She's booked four months out so you know she's awesome. The price is $160 and the touch up is one month later and costs $50. It's a quaint little shop on the corner with street parking with a few spots in the back too. Love this place! I've been coming here for a year now and I can't say enough great things about this place! Beautiful salon, great staff and Suzy truly knows what she's doing. NEVER AGAIN! If I could give negative stars I would!! my hair was healthy, beautiful, and never had been dyed before... now it falls in chunks!! It feels like straw! I showed her what I wanted looks nothing like it, there's a good part of my hair that looks green from the pathetic job they did. I'm never letting those idiots touch my hair. I was a new client with an appt on 6/21/15. I was scheduled at 10:30 am and I arrived at 10:15 am because I know how valuable time is and I didn't want to be late. You greeted me and asked me to have a seat. I sat for over 30 minutes before you came over to look at my hair. When you asked me what I wanted I explained to you that I've had the same stylist for over 20 years without any damage to my hair. I showed you the current damage from 2 previous salons here in LA . I explained that I want NO yellow NO orange and NO purple. I simply wanted my roots done. I felt rushed in your assessment of my hair and that you weren't really paying attention. You asked me to have a seat again. I sat for another 30 minutes before I was finally in your chair. You said you didn't want to use bleach and that you could lighten my hair using color. I trusted you. After the 5 min color application you told me to sit for 45 mins... Which I did and then some. Finally an hour and 15 mins later the color was getting washed off. Was I supposed to tell you when the 45 mins was up... I certainly hope not. After 2 more applications I was finally back in your chair and when I removed the towel my hair was PURPLE with GOLDEN blonde roots and PINK tones throughout. It was written all over my face that I was freaking out but I tried to remain calm and hopeful because your assistant said once dried it would NOT BE PURPLE. She dried it and it was still purple and my roots a brassy golden blonde! You said blonde is your "specialty" and looking at your pictures I believed you. When you came back over to me you started curling my hair and I said my hair is purple and you said it will wash out after ONE wash. I explained to you that the last stylist told me the same and my hair was purple for 3 WEEKS! You said no just one wash. I shouldn't have to leave a salon being told that my hair will look right after one wash. I should leave the salon with what I want and what I was told I would get and what I paid for! I have now washed my hair 3 times since yesterday's appt and it is STILL PURPLE WITH STRAWBERRY BLONDE ROOTS! It is NOT platinum blonde by any means. All you kept saying is one wash and if you don't like it we can FIX it in 4 weeks. Three washes later I can tell you I hate it and I can't believe I have to go to work tomorrow with purple hair! The whole experience yesterday was awful. It was chaotic, unorganized and basically a huge disappointment. Your assistant is the best thing about your salon. Very sweet and accommodating to your every need. She definitely is an asset and does an amazing blow dry. Too bad I had to wash it out when I got home. *After reading how you have responded to my feedback. One thing I know for sure is even the best of the best in any profession can at one time or the other have a bad day. Your level of professionalism is wanting and leaves a lot to be desired. Having rave reviews and not looking to correct the negative reviews is a testament to your ego getting in the way of possibly a great talent and gift. Hiding behind your friends and family or "community" and making fun of me after the fact in front of other patrons is tacky. Over emphasizing on how great you are at what you do, even when a client is not happy with the results, when you added color that I did not ask for, insisting that after a few washes it will improve over time just creates despair and emotional distress for them, I still have your text message and photos of my hair I sent you and the aftermath by the way. Bashing honest reviewers just to up your ratings over time will diminish your reservoir of good will and potential new clients outside your current "niche". Every business including your "acclaimed" thriving one needs new client stream especially if you can appreciate diversity and not label non-Armenian as "suspect" rivals or competition from other salons. This might help make your case objective. You are stooping too low when you bring out your worst commenting venomously on yelp reviews that give you their individual experiences and first impressions instead of focusing on customer recovery. You possibly are well on your way to becoming a victim of your own success and platitudes unless you work on how you handle new clients. ALL CUSTOMERS MATTER! read more

The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making me feel comfortable and valued. My stylist, Suzzie, truly worked magic with my hair. She listened carefully to what I wanted and offered expert advice to achieve the perfect look. I went from brunette to blonde in one day! I have been platinum blonde for over 12+ years with perfectly healthy hair. I had seen the work of Monroe "Suzy" on Instagram and it looked beautiful, so I thought I would give it a try, what a big mistake. First and foremost, they have inexperienced assistants applying bleach to your head. Secondly, they apply double bleach (which is a no-no), then they have more clients than wash stations, so the bleach stays on your head for way longer than it should, because they are busy washing other people's hair. Aside from having my hair fall out due to double-bleaching, you are looking at about $450-$500, not to mention the 3-4 people you have to tip that touched your hair - you do the math! The first time, they left my hair purple, the second time it was green and I do understand toners, but its their job to fix that, color specialist! I was so sad to see young girls, 16-18 year olds getting their beautiful long dark hair bleached blonde with all the damage! Half the clients were there for extensions! So, basically, you pay them a hefty fee for frying your hair off, then try to sell you extensions to cover the damage and in turn, make more money. You really have to be stupid and/or bald to continue going here! Never again! read more

The Glendale location is NOT a luxurious day spa. It's more like a mom and pop barber shop where old ladies in the neighborhood go for their weekly hair dye and hair curler service. They call it a spa because in the last room in the back. there happens to be a Morpheus 8 machine. I do NOT recommend this place. For my Morpheus 8 appointment, they left me in the back room for over an hour with lidocaine, then the technician came in and zapped me for about 5 mins, said I was done, gave me a small container with unidentified peptide inside. When paying the bill, they had the nerve to make me read the pad where it was asking me to pay 18-25% tip on a $1400 treatment which only lasted 5 minutes. A few datys later I had a question for them but they didn't even answer the phone and never returned my voicemai. They never followed up to see how I was doing either. It was my first time going to this salon and Suzy bleached my hair when my hair was already bleached and I told her I only needed it for my roots, but she insisted on bleaching all my hair. She lined up 10 clients and myself at once and put bleach in our hair and went off doing her own thing. She burned all my hair and another girl sitting next to me was about to faint because of how long she left the bleach in her hair. They had to put wet towels on her and she couldn't breathe. She then sold me on $125 hair spray that helps hair growth, but in return it worsened my hair growth along with her expensive horrible bleach treatment. It was such a disappointment after seeing all her pictures, but it is clear to me that the real professional is her photo editor. read more

Suzy, the head colorist, does an *amazing* job to say the least! I had virgin hair and was super worried about coloring it but she made the whole process pleasant. I went from dark hair to light/white blonde balayage in a single day (it was a long process, ~7 hours) but totally worth it!). It was amazing because she made my hair look exactly like the hair color in the picture that I showed her - actually, my hair turned out way *better* than what I wanted. I was very clear that preserving my length, thickness, and density was extremely important to me. I only wanted long, blended layers, and I provided an exact inspiration photo showing what I wanted. Unfortunately, the haircut I received was drastically different from the reference photo. The appointment also felt extremely rushed. My haircut was completed in approximately 30 minutes while the stylist was simultaneously working on another client's hair, and I ultimately left the salon with wet hair. Afterward, I noticed that my hair was behaving completely differently than it had before the appointment. It no longer holds a curl or style the way it did when I came in. Because I was so concerned about the result, I had to go to another stylist and pay for an additional professional assessment. I was told that the layers were drastically disconnected, the front fringe had been cut significantly and had removed a substantial amount of volume from the front of my hair, creating even more disconnection. I was also told that my ends had been heavily sheared, leaving them much thinner and unable to hold a curl the way my previously thick hair did. This is especially upsetting because I specifically asked for my thick, long, untouched hair to be preserved. I did not ask for my density to be removed, heavily thinned ends, or disconnected layers. I asked for long, blended layers. I have photographs of my hair before and after the appointment, the exact inspiration photo I provided, and documentation from the stylist I had to see afterward. I contacted the salon regarding the situation and requested a refund, but my refund request was denied. I have now escalated the matter to the salon owner and am hoping they will take responsibility for the service and resolve this appropriately. This review is based on my personal experience and the condition of my hair following the service. I would strongly recommend making sure expectations are extremely clear before booking if preserving your hair's existing thickness and length is important to you.

Instead, she took off 4-5".
