Your eyebrow lady literally has your life in their hands - one bad pluck or wax and you're going to have some issues. THANKFULLY I found Mary and she's been doing a phenomenal job on my eyebrows ever since my cousins referred me to her. She's extremely conservative when it comes to your eyebrows and takes a modest approach in regards to shaping them. Mary always listens to what you have to say and incorporates your vision of your eyebrows with what can be done. If you would like her to fix or change something she is always willing to listen and do what you're comfortable with - she doesn't make you feel bad. Mary is always available for appointments and does her best to accommodate the day/time you want to come in. Her facility is extremely clean. Mary threads my eyebrows and waxes my upper lip which costs only $20 (she also takes card or cash for payment)! She already has great reviews so I wanted to think about something unique to talk about Mary... hmm... Well, she definitely is very friendly. I solely came to this salon for eyebrow waxing after finding her on yelp but it seems as if her customers have been going to her for years and years. She's so nice that people will literally just come in and talk to her for a second and leave. The first time I was here she really tried to have a good conversation with me and we connected very well. Her work! Yes she is amazing. However i don't take care of my brows that well and when I try to do them myself i make them worse. Literally, my brow cycle goes like this: Mary does my brows, they grow, I try to do them, I mess up and leave it, and then I go back to Mary for her to fix my horrendous brows. I have the picture from when I first went to Mary and i'm lucky she didnt scream at the sigh of my brows. I have naturally slanted eyebrows that make me look sad (haha) and I don't like really highly arched brows because I don't think it suits my face. However Mary tried to do the best she can to have my brows suit my face. She's seriously amazing. I have always been an eyebrow waxer. I was always afraid of the idea of getting my eyebrows threaded and I wasn't even sure what to expect. Yesterday, I decided to try it. I've been to spray tan salons in the past but never has it lasted so long and faded evenly without leaving patches of tanned skin. Dermispa is walking distance from my house and I decided to give this place a try. I walked in with no appointment and was greeted by a sweet lady and asked me if I could wait 10 minutes. I figured since I made no appointment and I was in no rush, I'll wait. And I am SO glad I did!! Mary took one look at my eyebrows and said to me that who ever did them did not do them properly. :( I know sad face! So she began working on my crazy eyebrows. She is so meticulous and you can tell she really enjoys what she does. She took her time and at no point did I feel rushed like other places. i just moved to glendale a couple of days ago and my eyebrows were getting out of control. i have crazy eyebrows to begin with, so two weeks without getting threaded means eyebrow hair going in every direction. lucky for me, dermispa is a walk from my new place! i tried to make an appointment online, but i couldn't make one within the next 24 hours. i emailed instead and got a response within ten minutes for appointment slots. i made one for the next day. i walked in and was greeted by mary. she was delightful from the get go! i walked into the room and she got to work, letting me know what she was doing before she started. she even took before and after pictures of my eyebrows so that i could see the difference myself. you could tell that she was very meticulous with her work and takes great pride in it. i've never had someone spend so much time making sure my eyebrows looked great, which she definitely did. my fiance even noticed right away when i walked back home and said, "your eyebrows look really good! she did a good job." it was $15 for eyebrow threading. thank you mary for being so sweet and professional! i'll be back for as long as i'm here. read more

To start off, she is always accommodating with her schedule, kind, and hospitable. She is THE BEST at eyebrows. She shapes the brows according to our own faces and natural brow shape. I had never been there before and am so glad I found her because I live nearby, and not only is this extremely convenient, but her services are wonderful. Sevag Dermispa is the place to be. They offer a variety of services. They have everything you could ever want, from eyebrows, facials, massages, peels, microderms, body wraps, hair and nail services. Its a full service salon. They even have parking in the back behind the shop designated for clients. I'm a life time customer. I have my eyebrows shaped every two weeks by Mary. I get facials monthly and even get blowdrys on occasion. The staff is so sweet and kind and couldn't ask for a better environment. I even got a spray tan by Mary two weeks ago and my skin is still glowing. It didn't turn orange or a weird color. All bronze. Love this place!! read more

I really hate to give negative reviews, but I feel it's actually necessary in this case in order to protect people. I went to this salon for a Keratin hair treatment (Brazilian hair straightening). Mary, the owner of the salon, seems like a very nice person, however, my personal experience with her was very unfortunate. First, she began washing my hair by turning the hot water directly onto my scalp (without testing the water on her hand first), scalding my head. Then she placed the hair dryer on high heat directly onto my scalp and burned me a second time. When it came time to flat iron my hair, she told me she had scheduled another client at the same time as me, so her daughter would be taking over. (Her young daughter was working the reception desk at the time answering the phone.) As far as I could tell, the daughter did not have a cosmetology license, or even any training in the field -- isn't this illegal? I say this because she didn't understand that you have to put a comb in between the client's head and the flat iron or you'll burn them. And burn me she did, three times, in fact: once pretty badly on my left ear, and 3 more times on my scalp. In addition to the 6 burns I sustained, Mary had pulled out an inordinate amount of my hair -- she worked too quickly and sloppily and kept getting strands of my hair caught in the comb or hair clips and instead of untangling them, she just pulled them out of my scalp (it's excruciatingly painful, actually). It was also the first time I had ever been to a salon where they don't put a protective cape on you (she only left a small hand-towel from the shampooing around my neck but it was wet and she didn't clip it, so I had to hold the two corners together with my hand for an hour and a half). And she did drip some of the Keratin solution on my bare arm and got a lot of it on my forehead too (a patch of which turned bright red), so I hope it's not toxic. By the time I left the salon I was hot and jumpy from pain and fear and my chest and face were flushed and sweaty. This was exacerbated by the fact that she turned off the A/C and opened the front door of the salon half way through my appointment because she said it "wasn't that hot out" (it was 89 degrees outside the day of my appointment). When I left the salon and went to my car, which was parked where Mary specifically instructed me to park (in the lot behind the building), it was blocked in by a truck and I couldn't leave. I was trapped. I waited and waited until a man came out. He yelled at me, "This is a private lot! The salon can't use this lot! I'm going to have you towed!" (Apparently Mary tells her clients to park in that lot, but she's not supposed to be using it.) I talked the man into moving his truck and I left. I'm so lucky he didn't tow my car. read more
