I've been to many nail salons but this one in particular just tends to over charge for no reason. Couple of my toes only had gel on it and let me remind you maybe like 2 toes but they charged me to get them removed even though LAST time it was like that and they did not charge me. I came here to try it out after I saw so many reviews on Yelp. They accept walk-ins, which is great. I know of some places that don't accept walk-ins, so when I find ones that do-- I make a note of it. The employees and staff is very friendly and attentive. They like to engage with the customers and like to ask questions about you, which shows that they are interested in their customers. I got a $25 pedicure, which included a mini foot rub and a hot coal rub. Not bad if you ask me for the price. They also have a good selection of colors to choose from, mostly OPI polishes. I liked everything, but one minor problem I came across after I left the nail salon. I realized that my toenails were filed in a slanted direction. You can really notice it on my big toe nails. I'm guess it's because of the angle she might have been sitting when filing my toenails? Not sure why... I wish I'd seen it while I was at the nail salon. This has become one of my go to salons. The salon by my house no longer is open on my Wednesdays, my day off, so I had to find a new place. I was a little worried that they might be a little bit pricier than other places because of their location but they're not. I get a pedicure with sea salt scrub, hot stones & paraffin for $36. I have found that most places it is an either/or with the stones & paraffin, especially for that price. My only complaint is the lack of desire to actually want to cut your nails. I'll ask for a cut down and have to say "more" a couple of times until I'm at a comfortable level. read more

Very disappointing. I've gotten my nails done here twice. The first time was a decent job but my gel polish peeled, which has never happened to me before. The second time, I had a technician who didn't know how to get gel polish off. She didn't know what she was doing and got increasingly frustrated (seemingly with me?). I only got a polish change on fingers and toes and it took over an hour and a half! She cut my toe (drew blood) and blamed me because I didn't get a full pedicure. Then, while painting my fingernails complained that it was difficult because they were short (the way that I like them). Her demeanor was pretty appalling. Honestly, I will never go anywhere else to get my manicures & pedicures. And since this is one of the only salons in the area to do solar nails, I'm a fan for life! Flexible staff and peaceful atmosphere. They even let me use a gift certificate that was three years old! (So embarrassing!) This was my first visit here, and I loved it! I will NEVER go back to this place again! For Mother's Day this year as a way to try and help me relax before our 2nd daughter is born my husband treated me to a pedicure and manicure. No issues with the acrylic full set that I got but a week after my pedicure I noticed that my toe nails were getting rather long so I decided to cut them. Well once I got to my left big toe I realized something was wrong because the nail was moving turns out my ENTIRE big toe nail had completely lifted off the nail bed the only thing keep my toe nail from dropping off was my cuticle. I've never had that happen before ever and when I explained and showed my doctor she said that I had contracted a toe fungus from the shop. There are oral and topical medications that would take care of the fungus but because I'm pregnant and not due until the end of July it's unsafe for me to take. Have always had positive experiences at this salon, but recently had the WORST SNS manicure I've ever had. Nails were chipping within a week, and they usually last 5 weeks. I will probably still come back, but it's pretty ridiculous that you pay $50 to have nails that last as long as a $16 regular manicure. Unfortunately, I was just visiting Raleigh for the Holidays so I can't even go back to get them fixed. What a waste! read more

Came here because it was close to my place and had such a great experience. I had an appointment and when I arrived it was busy but I waited no longer than five minutes for a chair. Cleanest is important to me when I get my nails done. This nail salon is always clean including the bathroom. The pedicure spa chairs has lining in them and is changing out for each customer, so you know you want have any issues later with skin or nail issues. Of course sterilized seal package tools too. I have been going to this salon for about ten years it seems now? I love it so much. I make sure to see Snow every time :) she's my girl! If not Snow then Judy. But all of the girls are great! Stephen is super sweet and definitely makes sure to greet everyone when they walk in. I also love how honest they are with customers. I can't stand when I walk into a salon and ask them if they have time to do a pedicure for example, and they say yes.. then I end up waiting 45 minutes. I have had manicures and pedicures at Lux everal times and have been satisfied. However, I went yesterday for both services and was sorry I had not gone to a different nail spa. From the moment I walked in I felt pressure. A woman rushed over and tried to hurry me through color selection. There were very few customers in the shop. They decided one person would work on my hands while another worked on my feet. The one who did my pedicure was fine. The manicurist was very pushy. Kept insisting that I have my eyebrows waxed. I told her "no" several times. She wanted me to have a French manicure - not what I asked for. I had already selected my color. She would make remarks in her native language, look at the other woman and they would dissolve in gales of laughter. Also she was in such a hurry and a little rough. I think someone should tell them the value of being courteous. Customers don't have to endure rudeness - there are other salons in the city. I usually take my daughter and 2 granddaughters with me and we all get services. I have already decided to investigate other nail salons. My daughter commented that she had "dropped" too much money in that place to be treated rudely. And finally, I don't think I got the gel color that I chose - totally different shade from the sample that I chose. read more
