**Extremely Disappointed - Do NOT Be Fooled by the 5-Star Rating** I'm honestly shocked this place has such high reviews. I usually go to The Nail Lab off Falls of Neuse, but they were packed. Since my mom was visiting from Fayetteville and heading back soon, we decided to try MG Nail Salon based on the ratings. Walking in, the salon already felt outdated and not very clean, but the staff seemed friendly and it wasn't crowded--which was surprising for a Friday before Mother's Day. That's where the positives end. We all got basic pedicures, and when I say *basic*, I mean literally just water--no soap, no soak solution, no bubbles... nothing. Just a quick rinse, scrub, and lotion for $35-$38. On top of that, the technician cut me multiple times around my cuticles, leaving my feet raw. My mom had the same experience--her feet were also left looking and feeling terrible. My 6-year-old only received polish on her hands and feet--no soak, no pedicure, no sanitation--and they tried to say it's normally $38 but charged $23. Even that felt ridiculous for what was done, and the polish job looked rushed and sloppy. My 10-year-old got Gel X nails with one simple design on the thumb, and the total came to $70--which felt overpriced for the quality. As for me, I requested acrylic big toes with a French tip. When it was done, I was so upset I almost cried. The owner told me it was "impossible" to do a French tip because I chose regular polish instead of gel--which makes no sense and shows a lack of experience. He attempted to fix it but ended up giving me a solid color instead... and it still looked terrible. On top of everything, the sanitation practices were concerning. I watched tools get quickly rinsed and put right back into use. No proper cleaning or disinfecting in sight. We ended up paying $169 plus a $10 tip (only because the owner tried to fix things), and it was a complete waste of money. We didn't even go through with getting full nail sets because if they couldn't handle a basic pedicure, I didn't trust them to do anything else. **Bottom line: I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone. I was going to MG Nail Spa nail salon for a very long time. BB was my nail technician. For the most part, I always got S&S French. The last time she did my nails, one hand of the French was white and the other hand was a beige looking color. I politely asked could you put another coat on the one hand, so both hands can look the same. She stated that's how it going to be. Finally she decides to do it. When I called back weeks later to get them done again. She says she can no longer do my nails!! I asked if someone else can do them? I was told know one wants to do them. I've been coming to this place for 3 years and as of recently I've been charged for things that isn't even on the price list and you guys are making up prices as you go along. Each time I come into this establishment I'm charged $5 more for something ridiculous. I was charged an extra $5 for ME to soak off my own color. No nail tech soaked the color off for me I did it myself like I've been doing each and every time for 3 years. This place was close to home, and despite the mediocre reviews, I decided to give it a try. I had a very good experience. I got a pedicure late on a Saturday afternoon. Parking was easy, and I was able to walk in and be seen almost immediately. This place offers complimentary WiFi AND complimentary beverages (water, coke, Diet Coke, sprite, green tea, coffee, red & white wine). The staff was very friendly and attentive and were easy to communicate with. The quality of my pedicure was as good (if not better) than other nail salons I have been to in the area. The salon also had several televisions as well as classical music playing over the speakers. It made for a nice atmosphere. If you do have to wait, there are plenty of shops and places to eat within walking distance within the shopping plaza. I'd highly recommend giving this place a try, and I'll definitely be back. I'm a young Black woman and A middle aged white woman came in at least 20 minutes AFTER me and was given more time, quality and concern for the services she wanted done. As a paying customer I should have gotten the same courtesy; I was DENIED that right so I got up, didn't pay for the fill that was started... left and WILL NOT BE BACK EVER AGAIN!! Finally 30 mins after our scheduled appointment time nail techs showed up to start our gel pedicures. My tech started taking off my old polish when a customer walked in. Apparently this was someone he knew/a regular customer. He immediately jumped up to greet her! I heard her say that she called that morning for an appointment. The next thing I know he comes back, picks up his nail basket & walks to the back. Then he comes back out(walking past me & my daughter) to go take care of this customer. I'm sitting there looking at my daughter confused! He then comes over to tell me that he has an appointment! What?! So I'm left just sitting there! After about 5 mins another nail tech shows up to continue my pedicure. He did a good job but stopped after the base coat! Then another nail tech showed up telling me that she was going to do my color! It was the most confusing nail appointment ever! It took like an hour and a half of my previous time not to mention my daughter had to sit & wait for me because her pedicure had been done for some time! I was hesitant to even come back for this appointment because of my last experience! The nail tech sat the nail dryer down on top of my big toe which majorly marred the polish! This place was just ok. i visited the salon for a pedicure on this past Saturday from out of town. I thought I needed to find a salon that specialized in SNS nails because I needed one fixed. I later found out I just needed to file it down. Anyway, my pedicure was not spectacular. First, they ran lukewarm to cold water for my soak. Ive never had that before. I asked to make it warmer and the young lady immediately accommodated me. I then waited for about 15 more minutes until a salt and peppered haired man was assigned to do my pedicure. He rushed through the pedicure. :-/ He skipped a few steps and when I tried to bring it to his attention he made it seem like that was how he did it. But that can't be the case if you did it one way to one foot and not the other foot. I probably won't go back when I have visiting my in-laws in NC. read more

Worst experience here yet by far. Had to wait 40 minutes for my appointment to start. That's a longer wait than at a doctor's office. Would have been 30 minutes but the girl had to take a smoke break. Really? You're already running really late. Noticed after me that she took one before the next person too. Completely unprofessional and rude. Then of course I was charged more than I was supposed to. I picked the 2nd least costing one and ended up being charged for the 3rd least costing one. I am so frustrated! We have been going here for a LONG time but today was the last. Went in for a pedicure, Acrylic nails and eyebrow wax. Sign CLEARLY states " $10 for brow wax, $36 for Golden pedicure ( insert joke here) and $33 for full set." I got my pedicure and my teen daughter was separate from me getting the acrylic. I go to pay and if you add that up, it comes to $79.00. The ( very nice) lady tells $111.00... Ummmm.....nooo....let's do the math together. She's unsure so calls another woman over ( also very nice) . We go back and forth. She says my daughter got the solar dip ( she didn't)...then she says my daughter got a manicure ( she didn't)....we go round and round so by then I am PISSED. I pick up the pricing sign and ask them why the sign says $33 for full set and they keep adding on little add on's. Anyway, I was SO mad so I said "whatever. We won't be back and ya'll are full of ****". It's disappointing because we went there for so long and NOW we won't go back and will certainly tell everyone. Terrible. I do my own nails. I have for almost 2 years. (YouTube vids) so it's Extremely rare that I go to a shop. Went there day before my bday jus to get clear acrylic full set. The girl was young and I seen her there for years , and I guess she finally is considered a nail tech because she did mine! Terrible job , I should have got her name. Small talk we had, I did mention I do my own and jus want clear because I'm adding to them later. Nail shops like these don't like that I guess because they rather you spend your money with them every week for SUBPAR work‼‼. She tried to charge the extra $5 for length. I quickly advised her that they are not even long, then she said "oh yeah, your nails will always look long because of your long nail beds". She then changed the price down‼I could tell they were going to lift not long after visit. And they sure did. One came off a day later for no reason and the rest is already pretty much unattached. I know exactly why too! She did not apply the bonder liquid so that the acrylic would stick to my actual nail. Pretty sure she purposely did it. Because that step is obviously important to have lasting nails!! The only reason I did not say anything because I thought maybe the acrylic powder used had a bonding in it too. But nope just regular acrylic that will not stay attached to your nail without the bonder liquid. Very disappointed, when I been years ago, the senior artist do only SUBPAR work as well!!!
