Helen is amazing!! She did exactly what I wanted!! My nails look amazing. She is definitely my new go to.

    Pedicure

I came to Lux Nails because my usual guy has the flu. I had been here when George owned it and it was great! I walked in and was asked several times if I wanted gel polish for my pedicure and said no. I got my pedicure and noticed a smudge while sitting there, I said something and it was fixed. I came home and had weird imprints on my nails. I touched my nails 2 hours after the pedicure and it was tacky and the polish slid right off. I have never had this happen.

Just moved here and am trying out salons. I had a nice visit the first time I came to Lux, but my second was disappointing. I had made an appointment two weeks prior, but when I walked in, no one addressed me for 20 minutes. When I finally got their attention, they said my technician wasn't working, and kind of seemed frazzled as to what to do with me. I would have appreciated a heads' up that the person I'd made the appointment with wasn't there, or for them to be able to staff the salon to handle existing appointments. I wouldn't have minded rescheduling. Instead they left me sitting there for almost half an hour. I sat down with another technician, who asked what shape of nail I wanted; I had been growing out my natural nails and told her I wanted to keep as much length as possible, with a square nail. She proceeded to file OFF all the nail growth, and gave me a very round shape I didn't want. I had to ask her to fix it over and over. She also applied the base liquid and dip powder much too far down, over my cuticle line. This creates ugly grow-out and does not allow a smooth edge. A second tech then came over to fix it, and I thought things would improve. However, when she did the dip powder, she did not file my nails at all; just lumped on the bulky dip and was about to apply clear gel topcoat to cure under the light, when I asked if she was going to file down to smooth out all the ridges and uneven bumps? This was so odd as it wasn't even a perspective thing - I get that some techs do different shapes or styles, but this was just basic lack of knowledge for dip powder application. My nails were horribly thick, clunky, and misshapen. Not at all what you want from a professional salon. By this point, so much time had passed and it was clear these techs did not know how to correctly do a dip manicure, so I decided to leave and finish filing at home. I paid and left. Really disappointing. It took me over an hour to fix at home.

i have never written a review before, but If I give this place ZERO STARS I WOULD! I went here for the first time with my best friend & they OVERCHARGED us like crazy. we both had to pay $150 each for our hands and feet?? no art or nothing! ON TOP of that, damn bear every single one of my nails CRACKED in half! they were so brittle and painful. i wouldnt wish for anyone to go to this place!!! Now I can't get my nails done for at least 2 months because of the condition that they are in.

I've had my nails done by everyone that works here. They are all skilled and professional.

Gel Pedis didn't even last 24 Hours. Flaked right off that same night. $40 dollars plus tip down the drain.

We made an appointment at 12PM but had to wait until almost 1PM for them to start our Pedis. Then once they jumped in to start they didn't even ask what we'd want besides what type of polish. My technician did the bare minimum and was done in 20 minutes. I've never had a nail tech not scrub my feet with a microplane‍. I asked for a gel pedi to be done so they'd last longer but the next day while I was cleaning my house I found a gel nail that matched my toes and realized that it had already flaked off. Didn't even last 24 hours. I was willing to let go of the lack of time spent on my feet but when they didn't even last 24 hours for $40 plus tip. Extremely disappointed.

First time coming here on a recommendation from my son. Pedicure was great for gel polish (which I thought was $15 for hands and feet not 15 each) anyway pedicure was fantastic. Now onto the full set. I think the young lady must've been new. 1st the acrylic was so thick and crooked filing took well over an hour. She chewed 4 of fingers up with the Dremel tool making my cuticles bleed, finally she cut my thumb pushing back cuticle with emery board and trying to file. At this point I was like its fine let's just polish. I think she should stick to pedicures or fill in full set isn't her strong suit. If I had just gotten pedicure review would be 5 stars!

My niece and I got our toes done there and we loved it. The massage chairs were awesome, the pedicure was great and the employees were as sweet as can be. Not sure why there were so many complaints in previous reviews. Not sure if the guy who did my feet was the owner, but he was mad funny. I'd go see him again didn't catch his name though. He even picked out my color. Told him to choose.

I've been a loyal customer for almost 2 years now. Every time I leave, I always leave with a smile on my face. Absolutely happy with my new nails every 2 weeks. My only favorite nail place to go to!

    Sloppy work!

Never again! I travel for a living and I go to hundreds of nail salons all over the states. Never had I been so disappointed in the work and the customer service I received at this nail salon! I'm not from here and I stopped at the first "nice looking" nail salon on my way to work. First of all I told the lady who greeted me that I wanted a manicure and my dip powder removed and new dip powder added. I picked a color (DD75) which is a dark gray color. She dipped my nails in a liquid with a piece of paper towel inside and told me to rub the powder off while I'm dipping my nails (I'm sorry, isn't this your job?!). I've never had my powder removed that way, normally it's wrapped in aluminum foil and a soaked cotton, which takes about 5 minutes to work. The liquid bowl and paper towel took about 10-12 minutes. Secondly, she never gave me a manicure, at this point I just wanted to leave so I didn't say anything regarding my manicure. She did two coats on my nails with the powder and by the time she was done, the color was light and I could see through the color. I said that it wasn't dark like the sample. This is when the other lady (who greeted me) told me, "they don't always come out the same color as the sample" ummm I'm sorry but why show a sample that will look nothing what it shows. Please explain! I believe she was the manager or owner, but basically she told me to deal with it, that there is nothing they can do about how it shows up! I said that the color is not dark and that is wasn't what I picked, Ive had this color before and it's been darker. The lady doing my nails said, "I'll do another coat". I said yes, please. The manager lady began to speak another language. Smiling and rolling her eyes while the lady she was talking to was looking at me. At that point I was so aggravated because wether she was or was not talking about me, I felt very uncomfortable, that was extremely unprofessional of them. Finally, when the lady finished, my nails were darker but it was sloppy, I just wanted to get out of there. When I paid my $40 (which probably included the manicure I never got!) no one said bye to me. I stormed out of there and headed to work. Never had I been to a place where I had such a bad experience. Please, there is a nail salon down the street, go to that one!!!

I can't say enough good things about Lux Nail Spa. The salon is clean, the staff is friendly and professional. I get my nails dipped regularly by Helen about every 3 weeks. My nails are normally brittle and chip easily but since Ive been coming here I've been able to grow my nails to my desired length. They NEVER break or chip between visits. Helen is a true professional and so talented. Also I would also highly recommend the deluxe or volcano pedicure by Ann. Be prepared to sit back and relax. She takes her time and pampers you. When I say this is the best pedicure you will ever get I mean it. Ann is so kind and really makes sure you are comfortable and happy with the results. After one of these pedicures I feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

My only criticism isn't actually about the salon itself, but about the online booking system. It appears to be a platform used by many nail salons, and I find it difficult to navigate. Service descriptions are limited, making it hard to know exactly what you're booking, and choosing a technician is largely based on photos without much information about each person's specialties or experience. Once I arrived, however, the experience exceeded my expectations. The live piano player created a relaxing and unique atmosphere that I wasn't expecting and truly appreciated. Rose, the owner, took the time to listen to my concerns and preferences. She thoughtfully communicated them to the nail technician who worked with me, which helped me feel heard and understood. My nail technician was gentle, attentive, and considerate throughout the appointment. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would return. If the booking platform provided more detailed service descriptions and technician information, it would make an already great experience even better.

I pre-warned them that I'm a bit sensitive on my big toes and she still pulled the skin to wear and made me Yelp. They don't have OPI so I had to try to find a color that was similar to Cajun shrimp. They never offered anything to drink, even though it says they offer complementary beverages. They also will not allow you to tip on your credit card so if you don't have cash prepared to use the ATM or hopefully the technician you're with has some sort of Cash App. Pedicure came ok nothing I would brag about. People around me started before me and we're still being worked on when they had the same service as I after me. It's OK. The spots around my big toe are still dry and there was no cuticle oil or anything along those lines. When I went to pay, the guy told me it was $85 when I told him that was impossible because my service was $35 for the pedicure plus $15 for gel that did not equal $85. He said that he must've misread it. So I paid the right amount and headed out.

I want to preface this by saying I don't think I've ever written a Google review, good or bad, but…read moreI am so disappointed by this location's actions. My story begins when I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy. My father-in-law bought me a gift card to the Landstown Anthony Vince Nail Spa so I could finally do something nice for myself while in the trenches of early motherhood with a newborn. Since I've since moved closer to Chesapeake, I called the Greenbrier location before my appointment and asked very clearly, "I have a gift card for the Landstown location. Can I use it at your location?" The immediate response I received was, "Yes, yes, you can," followed by additional information I couldn't understand due to a language barrier. Regardless, the answer to my question was "yes." I left my newborn with my husband, drove to the salon, and chose the most expensive pedicure because I thought I deserved a little treat and believed I'd be paying with my gift card. When I went to pay, I was met by the exact same employee. As soon as I handed him the gift card, he told me they couldn't accept it. I reminded him that I had called beforehand specifically to verify this, and he admitted he was the one I had spoken to. He acknowledged that he told me "yes," but claimed he had followed it by explaining that only gift cards purchased online could be used across locations. I asked for the manager. She also acknowledged that he initially told me yes, but insisted it was "miscommunication on both parts" and that I still had to pay. I genuinely don't understand how this was a miscommunication on my part. I called to verify something before spending money. I was told yes. I relied on the information your employee gave me. Instead of correcting their mistake, I was blamed for not hearing correctly. I explained that while I couldn't understand everything afterward, I absolutely understood the answer to my question: "Yes." I paid because I had already received the service, although I never would've chosen that pedicure had I known my gift card wouldn't be accepted. Before leaving, I told the manager I would dispute the charge if they refused to correct the mistake. She told me to contact corporate and, when I asked for the number, told me to find it myself. There is no corporate number because these locations are independently owned. I also submitted a message through the Anthony Vince website and never received a response. Almost a month later, I called again hoping someone would finally help. Instead, I was told the exact same thing: even though their employee misspoke, I was still responsible. This time they even tried to blame the Landstown location, saying the gift card policy should've been explained to my father-in-law when he bought it. Respectfully... who buys a gift card and has the terms and conditions read aloud to them? Even if he had, it doesn't change the fact that YOUR employee told ME "yes" when I specifically called to ask. What disappoints me most isn't the $80 (which could've been spent on diapers for my new baby). It's the complete refusal to take responsibility, apologize, or show any empathy. Every conversation ended with someone blaming me for relying on information their own employee gave me. I was also told they don't provide refunds for "services rendered". That explanation makes very little sense in the context of a salon, where every refund request would naturally involve services that were already performed. A business that stands behind its employees also stands behind their mistakes. Anthony Vince Nail Spa in Greenbrier chose not to. They've lost not only my business, but the business of eight of my family members who were shocked by how this was handled. We will not be back.

In the past, the place has always been a bit unkept, but I tended to overlook that because they used to have a young man who did great custom nail art. I'm not sure if he's there any longer but I didn't see him today and due to time constraints and availability I just asked for the first available. To be fair the ladies who worked on my daughter and I weren't rude but you do feel rushed. The mani/pedi I received today was nothing special but not terrible either. My lady first grabbed the wrong color and if I hadn't noticed and corrected her she would have used it, she was also bit stingy on the nail polish; I had asked prior to choosing a glitter nail polish I liked was opaque and was told yes, but it wasn't. I had to ask for extra coats for both my mani and pedi. (I used the same color). Sadly even after the extra coats some small parts of my nails are still showing through. Luckily it's not noticeable unless you're looking closer, no one is going to do that, but for the price...‍ While some employees weren't particularly busy during the visit, they were mostly on their phones. It would have been nice if that time was used to clean up the unused areas which could elevate the overall atmosphere. At check out the lady was about to charge me 40 dollars over the amount it should have been. When I corrected her and the other employee who was standing there they just went "oh" and changed it to a smaller number. I'm pretty sure I was charged $5-10 dollars over the actual amount owed but since I don't have the receipt on me I can't verify atm. Not a terrible experience but definitely not great either. My nails are fresh now, so I'll see how long they last.
