I got the WORST pedicure ever about a month ago. I did the paraffin wax, which was nice, but not sure it was worth the price. I tipped but I felt like I shouldn't have. The whole thing was just awkward and the massage was terrible. It was a super quick pedicure for like $55. Like why was it 40 mins for THE MOST EXPENSIVE PEDI they offered?? I got regular polish after getting the paraffin wax, which apparently was a mistake but they didn't tell me that cause they had no idea. The polish was shrinking on my toes and it was just horribly done. It looked awful. I had to walk back in like 10 mins later after my appointment and request for them to redo the polish. DO NOT get reg polish after paraffin. Only gel! I didn't wanna do gel, cause you have to come back for them to take it off. The whole thing was a nightmare and a waste of money. Please do NOT go here. I spent almost TWO HOURS just trying to get my toes done, and the experience was beyond frustrating. The technician I had clearly did not know how to properly do the service. My toes were painted terribly, and there was a major language barrier, so she couldn't understand anything I was asking for. I had to sit there while someone else came over and completely redo everything. After wasting all that time, all I got was a quick "sorry" and that was it--no discount, no real apology, nothing to make up for the inconvenience. Lisa did my pedicure and Tina did my nails, and the experience was truly exceptional. Even on Christmas Eve, they were professional, efficient, and delivered outstanding results without making me feel rushed. I haven't been able to treat myself in over a decade due to working long hours as an armed officer at multiple locations while also being a full-time mom, so this experience meant more than they may realize. They were rude. Don't get me wrong I'm definitely a New Yorker and can take a good jest. However, getting nails done shouldn't be an adversarial experience. From going to wash my hands and staff practically nearly running me over with their lack of personal space or respect for customer service. This theory continued when the nail tech refused to cut my nails down to my desired length then proceeded to argue me down loudly as to why he is incapable of cutting my nails as if it some battle showdown. Then I went back for a repair and the owner I assume, told me to come back at 3. It was 9 am. If you're in town I definitely recommend Nails Love. The decor, the vibe and the attitudes were a lot more positive. Wonder nail is located in what looks like an abandoned mall. On a Saturday it looked like a ghost town so you'd think they'd be practicing better customer service. Nails love not only did the repair, they did a whole fresh set thankfully. Also additional examples of poor customer service at Wonder Nails: The tech was going to rip my previous acrylic nails off savagely using an acrylic nail before I asked him not to due to it clearly being painful. I had to show him how to compare the fingers on both hands to ensure they're the same length as they were mis shapen and one fingernail towered over the next. Typically I'll always need to update my nails after I leave the salon but one shouldn't have to if a service is being paid for and they try to add charges such as $20 to rip someone's nails off like a beast? I have not personally received services here, but my daughter has visited this location for fills within the past few months. She enjoys coming here and I have noticed they run a tight ship. They get the customers in and out. I love the system here. I am not sure if they do anything super spectacular, but my daughter is a fan. This is my second time coming to this establishment and receiving subpar service for the price I paid. I only came here because my toes needed TLC and my nail tech is temporarily not doing pedicures at the moment. I should've just went elsewhere. I supposedly received the milk & honey pedicure, (one of the most expensive pedicures and what the pedicurist suggested I should get), but instead I got what seemed like a below basic spa pedicure. The woman that serviced me was rude, rushing (it wasn't even that crowded) and rough! The first issue was when I was reading the menu and, after telling her what I wanted, she snatched it away from me. Also, the chairs are EXTREMELY uncomfortable and worn out . The second issue was how careless she was when she cut my nails down and half-filed them. She was literally filing my TOE (not the nail, THE TOE SKIN), several times. The third issue was the way she painted my nails (MESSY AND RUSHED), and how she, repeatedly, set the UV light ON my toes! At this point, I can't tell if the polish on my big toe is lifted or a piece of my nail is split. Not to mention, I wasn't asked if I wanted gel or just regular polish. She just brought the gel out and, at this point, I was not in the mood to fuss. I just wanted this experience to be over and to leave. And the fourth and final issue: the way my pedicure was executed. I, honestly, don't think I would've gotten the "whole," milk & honey treatment if I didn't pick up the menu and started reading it when she started applying the polish. Maybe I'm tripping, but isn't the polish supposed to be last? AFTER the pedicure itself, ya know after the hot towels and lotion is applied or do they just not do that at Wonder Nails? Have the other nail salons been spoiling me and I'm being mislead?? And I STILL HAVE DRY SKIN ON MY HEELS! All in all, this is not $52 worth of work. More like $15. The woman at the counter was rude and nasty. I went in a week ago for a polish change no designs, no manicure, no acrylic, just gel polish, which cost $50 on my naturally long nails. I broke one nail yesterday and went today to have a tip placed on it. When I arrived there were at least 5 techs at their workstations and only 1 customer being served. The woman at the counter told me they don't have that color, so I need to do a polish change too. I told her I just want a repair and told her what color it was. I recommend going on an odd day during the week. They are super busy on the weekends. Prices are pretty affordable, cheaper than other nail shops. Workers are diverse & friendly. Front desk lady can be nasty actin sometimes. I mainly just get my feet and eyebrows done. When I get my eyebrows done I always tell them to just shape them up so they won't make my eyebrows thin. The wait was about a hour so they took my phone number and called when they were ready for us which was nice since the location is in a mall. Once called we sat for our pedicure which were great. Then my sister went to get her natural nail painted with gel polish she wanted someone what of a design and the nail tech told her it would be easier to just do one color. I got a full set with white tips the shape or the nail was fine but the white tips were not painted well at all. The oval it's slanted to the left and just look bad. I went to this nail salon Saturday afternoon for a GEL manicure. 2 hours after arriving home my polished started lifting and bunching. Gel manicures are supposed to last 2 WEEKS mines did not make it 12 hours. I told myself no worries I'll just return to the salon Sunday morning to get my nails fixed. I spoke to the lady at the front desk and and she told me she would only fix the 3 that looked really bad. I advised her that other nails are also bubbling and that would mean I would need to come back now a third time. She told me yes come to back when they mess up more. I have never in my life heard of such nonsense. Im from NY and if you return to the salon for any issues when it's just a simple GEL manicure. They take off all the polish and do again. I called to ask if I could come in in five minutes for a manicure, she told me it would be no problem... when I arrived she tried to push me into a gel manicure after several attempts and me telling her I just wanted a plain manicure she told me it would then take 40 minutes and she would call me when she had someone available. I looked at her as if she were kidding and reminded her that she just had told me to come down and had availability for a manicure ... I paid for a spa pedicure. It was just the same as a normal pedicure, maybe. I was charged 54 and I tipped up to 62 (8 bucks). I left with still so much dead skin on my feet, none of my toenails painted well (each toe had gaps on left and right sides without polish) and the top coat was basically non-existent. She didn't add nails b/c she seemed confused with the request, but then changed me $45 for dip powder over my own nails. I I came to this shop because I have used David and Natalie in the past. today I was charged $87 not including tip & I am beyond annoyed! I asked for a milk & honey pedicure, & needed ONE gel acrylic toe added. once my service was completed, as she rang me up I was confused by the pricing but had already given the lady her tip. I asked the cashier if she could click back to the price breakdown, she refused & said, " I'll let you know" & proceeds to tell me the breakdown verbally. I am not a confrontational person so I just went ahead & paid. once looking at the receipt, I noticed she rang me up for the wrong pedicure so I went back into the shop. She tells me that the lady told HER that I asked for the deluxe, the same lady I had just tipped. I confirmed, "So even though I ASKED for this, she did something else & thats on me?" the cashier gives me a nasty attitude about how there was only a $5 difference in the price so i told her that thats not the point, I was given the milk & honey so charge me for that! not a more deluxe service that I did not receive nor ask for. once I left the store, at further glance I noticed that they charged me $30 for TWO acrylic toes when she only provided the service for 1. I noticed this 10 minutes into my ride home so I did not turn around to go back. Even if I hadn't already left, I still wouldn't feel comfortable going back to deal with her nasty attitude. All In all, I will never go back to this nail shop, they're very sneaky if you don't pay attention and will take advantage of you. If I could give this place 0.5 stars I would. I would first like to start off and say the ONLY REASON I would even give it 0.5 stars is because of the color on my fingernails. Before today, I had never been to this nail salon before, but I had a gift certificate that I had been saving for the perfect time for a mani/pedi. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing. I started with the pedicure and the tech was not friendly and did not make me feel welcome at all. I get it, some people aren't social and language barriers can be difficult; however, a simple "hello" would've been better than nothing. She rushed through my pedicure. Start to finish, it took her 15 minutes. Anyone who's had a pedicure before knows that 15 minutes is not enough time to provide a thorough pedicure. Low and behold, it turned out terrible. My toe nails are jagged and there is excess polish everywhere (pictured below). Next was the gel manicure. Again, no interaction from the tech (different tech than the pedi tech) whatsoever. And again, very rushed. So rushed that it seemed like there was no way for the gel polish to cure. And that's exactly what happened. There were streaks and bubbles all over my nails when I left. So I went back inside and brought it to the attention of the receptionist. She looked at my nails and didn't say anything to me. She said something to a different tech and had me sit down on that tech's chair (this tech was absolutely wonderful--didn't catch her name, but she was very friendly and talked to me the whole time). She was told to buff the top coat and do another coat/top coat. She did her best to fix my nails, but the top coat still didn't cure all the way. I didn't have the heart to argue, especially since the 3rd tech was made to fix someone else's mistake. It was not her fault at all that they still turned out not great. Wonder Nails is one of the first nail salons I've ever thought deserves 5 stars! I've been here a couple times and have always had a wonderful experience. The techs are friendly and knowledgeable. They take their time and do things correctly. For example, Vinny used a tiny brush and acetone to clean up the edges of my nails each time he put on a new coat of gel. He also kept noticing uneven edges or residue even as I had moved on to my pedicure and kept touching them up. My nails were PERFECT as a result of his attention to detail! My pedicure was just as detailed and my feet were actually smooth in the end They have tons of chairs for manis and pedis and they pretty much know how to do everything (dip nails, gel, acrylic, nail art, etc.) Although they are a bit pricey, it's comparable to other salons and worth every penny! I had an appointment at 12 & waited a whole hour, only for her to tell me I don't do nails so I don't know how long. Then proceeds to tell me to come back tomorrow, I kindly explained that I don't live close by & it would be an inconvenience, she then says to me then leave.
