I haven't tteok-bokki like the Luv Dduk in a while and I forgot how much I missed it. I wanted Level 2 spicy but our waitress warned us it might be too spicy so we opted for Level 1, which still had a kick but I think I would've been fine with Level 2. She also recommended that we add noodles and it definitely added volume to the entree. I wish it came with more cheese though so if you're a cheese lover, I might think about that extra add-on. The rice cakes were so chewy and I was surprised it had cabbage in it since I love anything that can absorb more of that addicting red sauce. We ordered it as a combo so it came with a whole fried chicken and two sauces: soy garlic and sweet and spicy. They perfected the batter because it was so crispy and flakey and the meat retained all of its juiciness. My boyfriend commented on it saying it's the best fried chicken that he's had, and he's usually very particular with fried chicken. Although it wasn't crispy, I loved the fried sausage and rice cake bites. The sauce is sweet and slightly tangy and if it was fried more I think that would've been perfect. It's also a good dish to share since it comes with a lot. The spicy chicken and cheese was alright. The sauce didn't have that special flavor like the tteok-bokki that makes it addicting but it came with a lot more cheese which I appreciated. It was also by no means spicy. The parking here isn't to difficult to find as it is located in a plaza with a lot of parking. The service here is wonderful. The waitress brought us in and we were seated right away. Everything we needed was either brought to us or was already on the table. The waitress also gave us some recommendations, and we took her advice and it did not disappoint. The food came out pretty fast, so we were not waiting too long. We got the tteokbokki, corn cheese, bulgogi fries, and Korean fried chicken. I personally would say the tteokbokki isn't too spicy, but I also do have a high spicy tolerance. The rice cakes were perfectly chewy and just the perfect texture. They are big portions and between me and my friend, it definitely could have been enough to feed 3. For $68 without tip it was a lot of food. The fried chicken was so juicy and nice and crispy on the outside. It's popular for a reason! For the sauce we got soy garlic, it's advertised as a dipping sauce but we found it was tastier when you drizzled it over the chicken. I'd recommend asking for an additional sauce since it is quite thick and may not spread evenly. The teokbokki was really flavorful and not overly sweet like some other korean restaurants. It had the same set up as last time, join the waitlist, check in at the restaurant, wait until the server calls your name, order your food, and wait until a table is ready. We got their Luv Dduk Combo B, which came with a huge bowl of their famous Tteokbokki, steamed egg, salad, rice balls, and tempura! I loved dipping the deep fried tempura into the teokkbokki sauce, and the rice balls as well! Corn cheese is always a must, and their bulgogi noodles were a great side. The fried chicken is also a must get since the sauces that came with it were so tasty, and it was crispy, moist, and flavorful. I love how they're open late which is the perfect time to get Korean Pocha! It's definitely a great spot in Cerritos where you can easily feed 2-3 people with their combos. I ordered so much and I just couldn't stop eating and I bet everyone else will feel the same way. Parking was simple as it is in a large shopping complex. There are a limited amount of spaces immediately in front of the restaurant, but if you don't mind walking, there are a ton of spaces within the same large complex. I got there right when it opened at noon on Saturday so it was very easy to get seated but it didn't take long for there to be a wait. Unfortunately, they do not take reservations but it appears you can join their waitlist to minimize the wait. Overall, great experience. We also added an order of the honey garlic chicken wings. They also have Happy Hour from 12 PM to 12 AM everyday except Fridays and Saturdays. We ordered a bottle of Kloud Beer and got the second one for 50 cents. They provide the cups to share and limit one bottle at a time. Yelp waitlist via the app is super helpful as this place gets busy! By Saturday around 6pm then the wait is probably around an hour. Once seated, you can order your drinks and your food comes out fairly quickly. They do have happy hour from 12-12, buy one bottle of soju or beer and get another free! For food, we ordered the corn cheese, kimchi fried rice, luv dduk (regular spicy with ramen), and garlic wings. All of the food was really good! I like the seaweed in the kimchi fried rice as other places I've gone to didn't have that. The luv dduk is huge, that was the only thing we didn't finish.
