Good food, soured a bit by the service. It was a really cold evening when we visited. I added my sister and I to the wait list and waited in the car to hide from the weather. I came back around when yelp told me to, because they had the rule of ordering before we sit. They took our order, but proceeded to wait maybe another 15 minutes in the cold until they sat us. It was annoying when larger groups that I knew signed up after us were seated a lot sooner. I have a feeling that they misjudged groups at smaller tables being done, when they were just hanging out for a while. This sort of soured the rest of the night. When we finally sat down, it still took a few minutes before we received our food. I got the Bulgogi Garlic Noodle. I should have expected it, but that combo made for a pretty greasy dish. The beef and garlic noodles aren't anything out of the ordinary. It was a lot of food though. We did order our own dishes, which are most likely meant to be shared, but I was hungry. The prices for the main menu items are all about $20+. A lot of the menu looks like it fits well with alcohol. They had a pretty good sounding happy hour deal, but it was something like bogo beer, which would have been too much for me alone. I do want to try more of the menu, especially a headliner like the rice cakes. The food is good, I would definitely like to try more of the menu and enjoy some drinks next time. Place is pretty good! The wait time was basically non-existent! My friend and I came here randomly at around 9PM or 10PM and we got seated immediately. When going in, our waitress who took our order was very kind and memorized our entire order without writing anything down, which was impressive! When the food came, the serving size was larger than two heads which was pretty awesome, and it was pretty good. The only thing was that the mozzarella turned chewy and hardened pretty quickly, but it was alright. As I was mixing, however, I chose not to use the spatula because I didn't want to destroy the nice plating or the integrity of the noodles. But this other waiter came in, grabbed the spatula out of nowhere, and started destroying the bowl with it. I was pretty pissed because I didn't ask and I looked at him uncomfortably and noticed an Airpod in his ear (uhh, what, on the job?) I'm a fellow server and I'd understand if he needs to mix it if he's just following the place's instructions, but he could've asked or said something? Anything?? He never said anything to us, not thank you, no assistance, nothing. Then when I paid, I gave him the check with MY card and he handed it back to my friend instead? Again, coming from a server as well, I feel like he should be a bit more attentive than that, considering he wasn't because of his service and the Airpod inside of his ear. Served in a massive bowl, the rice cakes were drowned in a rich, flavorful and just spicy enough red sauce that also hid the fish cake slices, cabbage pieces, and a hardboiled egg. A healthy swirl of melted mozzarella cheese topped off the tteokbokki. Every bite was absolutely delicious, and each a step closer to a food coma brought on by the sheer amount of carbs. We came here after seeing the numerous reviews on insta, and were unfortunately disappointed. I love that the portions are big, and definitely enough for 3 if not 4 people. The food was mostly our issue. We were a bit disappointed to see that the garlic sauce was not already tossed with the chicken, and instead just in a container on the side. The tteokbokki only had one egg, 2 small sausages, and not too many fishcakes. If you want more of anything you have to pay a decent amount extra to add in. The overall flavor was pretty lacking. The chicken was nicely fried and crispy, but hardly any flavor and old tasting?!?! The breading ratio was also very off, too much bread not enough chicken. The sauces were all overly sweet. I can see the appeal if you came here with a larger group and got a couple of drinks. The service was fast and you do pay a decent amount for a lot of food. This is my second adventure to Luv Dukk. I tried four things my first trip and two this time. I love how friendly the staff are, the dance music playing and the speed of how fast the food came out. There is a kiosk to check in outside. There is no waiting for your table inside. You can check in on a iPad at the door ( outside) and they hope you will decide what you want to order outside. There are menus and pictures of food items outside. My hubby noticed you can check in through the YELP app. My first visit I wasn't paying attention and tried to walk in... again there is no waiting area inside at all. There is an outside window for orders to go. I loved the cheese corn dish. Such a huge portion! Also my sister and I got the Tteok- Bokki dish- ramen, rice cake noodles, hard boiled egg, hot dog in a huge bowl... this would be fun to get to go, because it's a dish a 12 year old would eat. Reminds me of spaghettio's with hot dog, with the added egg, and rice cake thrown in. Very comforting and filling. I'd love to chow down at home watching Netflix any rainy day with this dish. The prices are also a little pricier but overall ok. Came in with a large group so we had a longer wait to accommodate us. It was good that we can order before being seated. I want to give an honest review after eating here recently on a Saturday for lunch. I waitlisted on Yelp and was given a timeframe to come by and was 2nd in line when I arrived. It took around 20 extra minutes to have a seat inside with multiple people being called up before us. Keep in mind they said the waitlist was based on Yelp. This was a bit irritating as we were 2nd in line but 5 other parties were called in before us. We were seated at around 2:00 PM after waiting outside since 1:40 PM and were given the menu. It took a while for the waiter to come by to have us order the food, but we didn't mind. We ordered the soy garlic fried chicken and Luv Dduk combo with a soda and house salad for $49.99. We were not given food until around 35 minutes later and we were missing our soda, salad, and chicken. It took around an extra 10-15 minutes for this to come out. When we got our chicken, we did not get our soda so we kindly asked for the soda. The Luv Dduk was pretty good I would say, it was spicy even on level 1. It came with sausages, some cabbage, 1 boiled egg, and fish cakes. The house salad was decent, with some light sesame sauce with a peach. The fried chicken, which we thought would be glazed with soy garlic, was soy garlic dipping sauce and it came in a small container. If you want extra, it's $2.50. I thought the chicken was good, but it is not too many pieces for the price you pay. Either way, it was tasty and the dipping sauce was good as well. The ambiance inside the store was alright, there was music, LED strip lights, and comfortable seating. When we paid our tab, it was more than $58 which surprised us. The receipt was not itemized so you are not aware of the reason why it's higher, even with tax, it should not be that high. We believe there was some sort of mischarge with the asking for soda even though it came with our combo. In short, I would encourage you to try it out if you like rice cakes and spicy sauce, but keep in mind, it is expensive. Waited 2+ hours for this place so maybe that's why my expectations were a bit higher but this was pretty standard and was exactly what I expected it to be. We got the Chicken and Tteok-Bokki Combo ($49.99) with the chicken as soy garlic flavor (+$2). We also got the Spicy Chicken with Cheese ($29.99). The spicy chicken came out first. For some reason, the chicken tasted kind of like barbecue flavored? There wasn't too much chicken in the dish and there were a few rice cakes so I'm not sure if that was an accident but I wish there was more volume in the dish overall. The tteok-bokki came out next and by the time this came out, we were pretty much done with the first dish. The glass noodles felt a little undercooked like they weren't very chewy and kind of tough. The boiled egg was really really overcooked. The volume again, wasn't very much. The chicken came out last and by the time this came out, we were almost done with the tteokbokki. We paid $2 extra for a little cup of sauce which feels cheap and not worth - they should have covered the chicken in the sauce in my opinion. The chicken was pretty juicy though so the chicken itself was pretty good. Overall, the service was good. The servers were really nice and respectful when they came to ask if we were done. The music was a bit loud but I understand that it's part of the vibe of the place. If I was to crave this again, I would choose Yup Dduk in Irvine instead. read more

The food was so tasty. My family came here for lunch. We enjoyed the buttery, cheesy, sweet and savory corn that came sizzling on a cast iron plate. My friend and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and we tried the kimchi fried rice, the luv dduk (level 1 spice and added Raman) , and the soy garlic boneless wings. The food was alright. After a couple rounds of bowling, we were hungry and decided to head over to Cerritos for some Korean food. I had Luv Dduk K-Food bookmarked, and it was open late, so it was an obvious choice. I knew I wanted the Tteokbokki for sure. It came with the rice cakes, fish cakes, egg, cheese, and cabbage. I think we got medium heat, but it still packed a punch, just fyi. It was a large serving, so I took the rest home, but it didn't reheat well the next day. We asked what else we should order and we were told bulgogi garlic noodle. This was a really savory dish, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There was also enough to take the next day for lunch, and this reheated much better. Lol. There was a BOGO on the sake, so we got two bottles of that. Yay. The music was on the louder side, but maybe I'm getting old. Haha. Service was decent, staff could have been more attentive but they were kind. The loud trap music honestly does not fit the vibe of the place and was at times too loud to hear conversation. Food was at very best, mid. The chicken katsu was just okay, but we had probably only one portion of rice (maybe two) for all that chicken, and the curry? What a joke. Both were such small portions, again not enough for all that chicken. The darker once tasted like straight up barbecue sauce, the other was decent. We also ordered the luv dduk, which isn't pictured but there's plenty of pics of it already. The sauce did not taste fresh at all. It tasted either like a premade sauce or something they made in house days ago but overall it was just okay. Either way it made me feel sick. Stopped by on a Tuesday night around 7:30pm - I thought we missed the dinner rush but we were actually there right before people started coming in for dinner. This place is located in the same plaza as a grocery store and other businesses, so there's plenty of parking. We got seated right away with menus and waters. What we got: the tteokbokki, seafood pancake, and garlic bone-in wings. We got the tteokbokki spice level 1 and it definitely satisfied our tteokbokki cravings. The seafood pancake had a large green onion to seafood/pancake ratio and the wings has significantly more breading than I expected. Overall everything tasted good - I would get the tteokbokki again and would probably try other items next time. All the portions are pretty big, so you'll probably have leftovers. read more
