Music was good and a decent sports bar vibe in a good location. However kitchen was woefully understaffed. We waited 35 minutes from ordering to getting our disappointing shrimp cocktail and fried clams. We eventually gave up on waiting for our entrees and went 2 doors down for sandwiches. We were a family of 5 so it was not a huge party and the restaurant had plenty of open seats. The waiter was hustling and doing his best but I wish he had turned us away. Horrible service. I asked the waitress for a menu so I could order to go and she said ok, but then proceeded to go to the table of 10 next to me and take their drink order before grabbing me a menu. Ordered an appetizer for our wait, $8.99 chicken strips consisted of 2, four-inch strips and 3, two-inch strips. Asked for and received two more regular strips, but that should have never even been brought out. Hostess or bus-gal brought out our food and bill, and when I tried to ask for ketchup, she cut me off mid sentence and said the other girl will help me... Had my card out and ready, the waitress again walked past me and proceeded to take the food order for 10 while my to go food sat getting cold. Came back to room to find my requested well done burger dripping blood all over. Two stars only because the location and look of the place is nice.... Don't be fooled by the kind of hole in the wall look. My husband and I came in here to cool off with a beer and cider while bike riding on a hot day and enjoyed the view. One of the few restaurants that sells Stella Cidre, which we got hooked on from this trip. We came back to get two more ciders and I got the nachos and my husband got the burger. The nachos were great and I ordered extra cheese and they didn't charge me for it like every other restaurant does, but my husband got the burger with the dry rub and cheddar and I soon regretted my delicious nachos! Wow!! My husband is a bit of a burger connoisseur and we both said hands down, this had to be the absolute best burger ever!! If we had even one more day left in Beaufort, with all of it's lovely restaurants and incredible food, we would have come back for two more cidres and burgers!! Gag... mediocre at best. Husband ordered a PLAIN cheeseburger (meat, cheese and bread), came as a bbq burger. Sent it back, came out exactly the same, minus bacon. I ordered the French Dip with Provolone and got SWISS. The fries were greasy and half cooked. The sad part was that the wait person wrote it all down and the kitchen screwed it all up for her. FUN!! The best waterfront view of any restaurant in downtown Beaufort from it's back porch & patio. Friendliest crew, completely accommodating. The wrap-around central bar is GREAT for Sunday football with multiple games on their many TV screens. (even a video game built into one corner of the bar for kids who get bored) There's also a great spot in the street-side window area for large parties (12 or so people) Food! The French-dip is great, the sour cream and chive french fries are the best in town, and their deep-fried pickle spears are fantastic! (grab a Mountain dew or a brew, them pickles be a tad spicy!) Unlike other spots on the riverfront, this is quieter, calmer, and less pretentious than the others. They just make you feel like a "regular". read more

Never again. After an hour wait for our food, the food we received was cold and not good. The draft beer we received was warmer than the food. And to top it all off, the price listed on the menu was not the same as the price we were charged. Our bill was $1-2 more than the menu price for each dish. There are a ton of better options! I heard we had to stop at Luther's on our trip. I got the shrimp burger and my lady friend got some blue cheese burger with bacon. Her burger was cooked to perfection! Even the fries were tasty. I thought my shrimp burger was ok. It seemed to have a lot of filler in it. All of the food was gone, so that's always a plus. Now I can say I've been to Luther's. I'll keep this one short and sweet. The food here is not good. I will say the outdoor area is nice, as with any of the restaurants and bars on Bay Street. The food is bad. Tried to have dinner there on a Saturday night when passing through town, and this restaurant was the only one that was still serving dinner on at 9pm on a Saturday (what is with this town?!) I had the Brewsky's Burger ordered medium, and it seems the waitress was just doodling instead of taking my order because the burger was more than well done, dry and tasteless. Just wanted to update. Me and hubby went here again for a night meal and enjoyed it just as much (if not more) the second time around. Most definitely wouldn't take our daughter here late at night. It is adult oriented by those hours. People are a little rowdier, loud, and have a little more alcohol in them. Again I say though, we had a BLAST and it is now on our frequent list. Food was GREAT. On a awesome trip to Beaufort, SC made the mistake of trying Luther's. We were seated quickly which is the best I can say about the experience. After having our drink order place we waited and waited and waited for our server to come take our order. I saw him twice at the pop machine getting a drink and tried to make eye contact but failed. They he went to order pick up and passed our table not once but twice without say "Hey I'll be with you in a minute". No nothing, we waited and waited again. Again he passed our table to check out other guest still no eye contact or speaking. When order was placed we waited again. Finally he came out stating the hold up was the ribs that one in our party had ordered. When we finally got our food the ribs were almost raw. The rest of our food okay but had better. All together we were there over one and a half hours for lunch in a place that was almost empty. View is great service not so good. Food not worth going back there for. read more

Sat there for 30 mins with menus (which we had to ask for) before we had to ask someone to help us... we placed our order... waited 30 more minutes for food to come out (partially) others were half way done with meal before last plate came out... waiter apologized for food being late because he lost his cell phone and had to run a couple of blocks over to get it... had to get our own silverware and napkins and mayonnaise... asked for a side of ranch 3 times, never got it... ordered burgers medium came out well, finally meal was over and we were beyond ready to go... gave our cards, books came back to the table, one had somebody else's credit card and cash tip in it... sent it back and then sat there for 10-15 mins waiting in the correct checks... the worst service I've ever received in a "restaurant"... never again read more

We went to Luthers on a Wednesday night. Turned out it was half price burgers and $2 beers. A very inexpensive night out! The burgers were tasty and the fries were good. They should consider putting different kinds of sauces on the burgers to make them more gourmet. Great views of the waterfront area.
