I came here to get my nails done for a wedding, and while they turned out pretty, the experience itself was very painful. During the manicure, two of my fingers were cut, and I left with redness and bleeding around my thumbs and other nails. I expected the discomfort to go away, but even hours later my fingers were still burning and painful to move. Went to this salon for the 1st time. I was originally with Vince and he was nice. I wanted a white and blue ombre but he could t get the blue on bottom and white on top like he suggested so told him I'll just keep the solid blue color it was fine. He didn't file as much as other places have but I'm like ok well maybe don't need it so I was all done and absolutely hated them. When u spend over 60 on nails as a treat to yourself I was upset. So was waiting for my friend to get done cuz she was with somebody else I sat on the couch in the front and this lady was telling me how it was her first time there I said yeah this is my first and my last time here and she goes by and I'm like look at my nails she's like oh I'm sorry they said yeah I wasn't too happy and the manager Jay was like let me see them he goes I can fix them for you I said can you he's like ya of course so he took me right away and he fixed them right up and they look 100% better. Before Jay fixed them I originally put a one-star review but I deleted it and redid it and I'm going to show a pictures from before and after. But the environment there is very clean and very nice inside and the few people that work there that said hi and stuff seems very nice they must be doing something right because they get a lot of customs. read more

I booked an appointment requesting a Mandala design I saw the reviews and they all looked great, but I feel like I was catfished. I'm sure they have nail techs there that do a great job and the girl who did my nails is not at fault for this. I have no idea who I spoke to on the phone, but it was a man I was very specific about the services I wanted and the design. They supposedly booked my appointment the day I requested they told me they had an open opening for me in the morning to do the service I was requesting. I was told to send a reference photo so I did that as well. So before the appointment they knew the design I wanted. I even explained this would be my first time going there so I had no idea who to request so I asked to be placed with who would do the best job with my design. I get there for my appointment early in the morning, drove all the way across town and apparently it was for no reason because there was no appointment booked for me. I was treated like a walk-in client and the design was honestly nothing like what I wanted. But props to the girl who did my nails I wish. I knew her name cause she did her best, but I think it's absolute bullshit that I had to pay full price. During my appointment, one of the nail techs I guess the one I assumed I would've been placed with came over to help the girl with the design and he told me that I need to book an appointment in advance for a design like this... I was honestly so upset by their unprofessionalism and lack of keeping track of their bookings. I just felt uncomfortable the whole entire service. And it's not even about getting the nails done either. I mean you're supposed to relax and enjoy your experience. I feel like I was charged way too much for what I got. With this amount of fuck up, I have no interest in spending more money to risk having the same experience or worse just to give them another chance. This place is very unprofessional and lazy. This occurred a few months ago. I prefer to wait to write my reviews so it's not so offensive to the person who did my nails. That says a lot about the kind of person I am which is why I felt so uncomfortable to ask for a lower total when paying it was very obvious that these people don't really care about their clients so I just didn't bother to bargain. read more

I was charged $165 for the world's most mediocre set of nails I've ever seen. I've been getting my nails done since I was 13 years old and it's never reached over $120. The establishment itself was a nice place and the people were nice but to charge somebody $165 for a set of nails that barley reflected the nails I asked for is actually Ludacris. Update a week later I already have lifting in three nails, for 165 these nail should last 3 weeks MINIMUM. This is not a good place of business, they are a chop shop. They can almost always take walk-ins but I try to schedule in advance just to be sure. The tools and equipment always appear clean and well-maintained, and they are constantly improving the equipment and the space. They offer many different types of services, from super simple to the most artful and extravagant--I lean more toward the simple side, but I've seen many others walk out with some full scale nail bling. Once you walk in you could immediately see how beautiful and elegant the place is with marble, white and gold accents all around. So fancy and LUSH! With multiple chandeliers (a HUGE one I might add), comfortable spa chairs and seats for guests, you can tell the amount of details and planning that went into this nail lounge. They do appointments and walk-ins. But be sure to try to book an appointment ahead of times as it does get busy! The nail techs are thoughtful and patient with what you want. Upon walking in, they'll ask you what you would like to be pampered with and ask you to select a color for the polish/gel/dip from an array of color available to your liking. Update!! 1st experience: This was my first time getting dipped nails and so far I am not a fan of them. The paint started to chip off the 2nd day I had them. After having them for one week, 2 nails already started to break. The lady said dip lasts long and is sturdier. Maybe they are but the technician I had is great but I happened to get him on his first day. It seemed like he didn't know what he was doing. They were pretty at first, but after paying $75 excluding tip, I thought it would be better. Great people but poor quality for what your paying. 2nd: I called to let them know the problem I had, they told me to come in and they made me an appointment. Came in and they didn't put me down in the schedule. So then I had to come back a few hours later. This was a work day so the timing was bad. Frustrated at having to come back. I went back because I wanted my money's worth. Was able to come in and have my nails soaked and had a full new gel set done, took 2 hours for the whole process. Overall, I am still not a huge fan, but they do try their best to give their customers the best service! read more

The owner did my nails and they came out GORGEOUS! I have short nails and wanted an ombré acrylic overlay. Most salons would want me to have a full set, but I didn't want that. I love this place. Early in June I took my little sister here to get her first set ever. I got CeeJay and she is the sweetest. She and I chatted the whole time while she worked on fixing a foreign set for me. She had me walking out looking perfect. The team here is also super sweet. Everyone is friendly and open to help. They had an opening for a walk-in gel pedicure which I was thankful for. However just for gel vs regular polish they add about $15 to every service. I paid a total of $65 without tip for a basic pedicure that involved gel polish, a scrub and basic callus remover. The prices may be competitive for being close to the UofA but they are not competitive for other nearby local salons. I don't recommend this place, go somewhere else! read more

I am so sad about this visit. I didn't have the best experience the first time I went for dip but I thought I'd give acrylics a try with them. I'm devastated by how awful they look. I'm truly embarrassed. Henry refused to follow the reference photo and made the biggest deal about my redirection when I told him I didn't like the "French tip" since it was more like half the damn nail being painted.
