Enjoyed lunch with a party of 5 and the wait was about an hour. The ambiance is casual but the service was attentive and quick. Our sever was able to make recommendations since it was our first time. Overall the food was good would like to come back and try something different.

We arrived starving, with high expectations based on the restaurant's reputation as a California chain and the recent reviews on yelp. Unfortunately, our experience turned out to be a bit disappointing. I loved the animated dumpling decor and the clean, well-organized space. The restaurant was quite busy during lunch, and we were assisted by our waiter, who was exceptionally kind and attentive. He gave us thoughtful menu recommendations, took the time to explain the dishes, and checked on us frequently. His service was a solid 10/10. The staff, in general, were all kind. We ordered some of the most recommended items, including the stewed Angus beef noodles, blue crab & pork soup dumplings, chili sliced beef & tripe, pork ears & bean curd, and wood ear mushrooms. However, neither my cousin nor I found the dishes to our taste. The Angus beef noodles and wood ear mushrooms were bland. The beef itself was tender and well-seasoned, but the broth lacked flavor, leaving me wondering if the beef was cooked separately from the broth. The blue crab & pork soup dumplings and the chili sliced tripe were too sweet for my taste. For the blue crab dumplings, I added extra vinegar and soy sauce to balance the sweetness out. The chili sliced tripe was so overwhelmingly sweet that we had to send it back. Lastly, the pork ears & bean curd were much too salty for us. I think if we ordered white rice, it would have been better. One thing I noticed while observing other tables was that not many people seemed to have ordered what we did. There were a lot of green beans, piggly milk buns, and cheese crab puffs, which makes me wonder if we simply ordered the wrong dishes. I would like to revisit later on in the future and maybe see if there are some changes to the menu and taste.

This place is great! Very similar in dishes as Din Tai Fung but at better prices. It's one of very few soup dumpling spots in town so it has a long wait. We waited for over an hour but luckily was had a lot to catch up on. They also play music videos and tv shows around the room. I noticed an episode of Pokemon and even Sailor Moon! This place has a great menu selection! We ordered all the soup dumplings possible and a few other crowd pleasers: spicy wontons, garlic green beans and the black lava bun. Spicy wontons only came with 4 since it was on the app menu. It came out within 5 mins of ordering. It came in a deep bowl of sauce, that we could drink, it was so good! Not too spicy. We saved it to use as chili oil with our dumplings later. The garlicky green beans were so addicting! It was great to have a vegetable with all the rich flavors. Though it can be salty with all the sauces. I didn't take a picture of my Lychee green tea with crystal pearls, but it was great. Just like ordering from a boba shop! Once inside our food came out quickly. Our spicy dumpling app came out within 5 mins of ordering. Everything else came in the next 10. All the food was delicious and flavorful. The green beans are addicting. The soup dumplings are nice and plump and come with the authentic dressings like vinegar and pickled ginger. I like the crab one the least, because the crab flavor is minimal. It's basically like eating the pork one, but just slightly more expensive. (Not as much of an up-charge as DTF) The Yuzu chicken soup dumpling was our favorite because the yuzu citrus added a brightness that cut the fatty richness of the pork dumplings. All great to try though! For "dessert" we ordered the black lava bun which has a melty salted egg custard. I love the flavor of salted egg and there was still some sweetness from the bun. It came out piping hot and was so satisfying! We were so full though and could only eat one each. But i'd get this over the sweet pig ones! Our server Vanessa was great, you could tell she enjoys working there. We were so full by the end of it and wanted to try more. So we'll be back!

R2. Stewed Pork Belly and Rice

Absolutely amazing spot! We went a little crazy but it was all worth it. It was a rainy day so their soup dumplings were perfect. The stewed pork belly was also good, and the meat was very tender. We also enjoyed their pan fried dumplings and shumai. We also did their blind box boba and our daughter loved their little capybara surprise toy. We capped our meal with the incredible Mango Bingsu. Everything we had was great and had large servings. It was also very busy when we went but all our items got served very quickly, and they were very accommodating towards our kids. It felt so cozy and warm to contrast the rainy weather outside. Additionally, the convenience of being able to join the waitlist via Yelp! was a great bonus. We're definitely coming back and maybe trying out their fun drinks next time!

Table Advice

No waiting, seated quickly by a very kawaii hostess. Our waiter Z was very pleasant and helpful, really appreciated him asking if anyone had any allergies. The look and feel was very Chinese Mod with TVs playing Anime and Cuisine Core. The savory selections of the Black and Gold Lava Buns and the Cabbage Mushroom Pork dumplings were unique in flavor and super tasty. Always wanted to try the BBQ Chinese Sausage with both sweet and spicy flavors on a convenient stick. On the sweeter side, the Bunny Milk Buns, Panda Oreo Black Tea with Boba (with cute panda mellow) and the Blind Box Very Strawberry Cheese with Strawberry Popping Pearl were not to sweet, and very enjoyable.

Almost a Din Tai Fung dupe! Great to have a decent dumpling joint here in SA. Let me preface that I can't help but compare it to DTF so here is my honest feedback on the food we ordered: Soup dumplings were 10/10, pan fried pork and shrimp dumplings were 6/10, scallion pancakes were a bit too thin 6/10, but green beans were 10/10! Mango bingsu a little too much condensed milk but good 8/10....sorry, I may be a bit particular but I can confidently say I would go back. Wait was about 45 min on a Friday night but service at the bar was awesome - I think like 4 or 5 people can sit there. Food came out fairly fast and overall pretty good prices. We had a great time eating and drinking our soju and sake at the bar.

The soup dumplings were the star of our meal, for sure. The menu is pretty large, so it's easy to order a few things and share. The restaurant itself is clean, bright, and spacious, and I like that the tables are stocked with soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, and pepper so you can mix your own dipping sauces. Service was a little slow during our visit, though it seemed like they were pretty busy at the time. Not everything we tried was quite as strong as the dumplings, which is why I'm landing at 4 stars instead of 5. Still, it was a really solid meal and I'd definitely come back to try more of the menu.

We came here on a Thursday for lunch. It wasn't too busy and we were sat right away. They did get a big lunch rush while we were there. The restaurant was well themed and there were a lot of TVs playing Chinese shows and Pokémon. The restaurant is in a small shopping center with a small parking lot We started with pork egg rolls, scallion pancakes, and soup dumplings. I got the Szechuan chicken and my wife got the vegetable Lo mein. The food all came out hot and fast. Everything was delicious and the portions were huge

I first learned of this restaurant from a friend's post on social media. We are both from CA and now live in TX. If you know the history of this place you know they have locations in several states but originated in CA. My friend moved here from Monrovia, CA where a luscious dumplings restaurant was established in 2012. That is where and how my friend first heard of it. Once she learned they had expanded to TX, she went and shared her experience. Luscious dumplings has been operating since 2001 which is quite impressive. It's a family owned business and clearly their success and expansion is mainly due to the quality of their food! In 2021 they received a Michelin bib gourmand recognition and I now understand why! In addition to their delicious food, the service is prompt and excellent as well. They have a pretty expansive menu and one can get lost or overwhelmed trying to decide what to order, if it's your first time. That's how it felt for us, however, we were overcome by more excitement than overwhelm. My husband just started ordering what seemed like the entire menu (lol). We started with the baby bok choy, edamame, and the spicy wonton in chili oil, and stir fry beef ho fun (noodles). We then just went ahead and placed our entire order since the waitress informed us the dim-sum/dumplings take a little longer. My absolute favorite was the spicy wonton in chili oil (appetizer) and the chicken soup dumpling! Our dumpling order consisted of the blue crab pork dumplings, the shrimp dumplings, and pork and shrimp dumplings. It seemed like so much food and it was but we were also hungry and ate pretty much everything! Pricing is also very reasonable for the portions and quality you get. The restaurant itself is pretty spacious and they have tables and booths, all indoor seating and 2 picnic style benches outside. I ended up ordering a drink towards the end because my toddler got antsy and Jasmin who was our server suggested a boba that comes with a toy In the cup!! The bottom portion of the cup has a little cutout box to retrieve toy! So cool! I was more excited than my toddler lol!! Worth every penny! Haha Obviously, the dumplings are the star of the menu! However, everything else we ordered besides the dumplings was absolutely delicious as well. They seriously have such a big menu! From noodles, to rice bowls, chef's specials, desserts, kids menu options and so many boba drinks and signature cocktails! They truly do have it ALL! I know for a fact we will be repeat customers and I can't wait to try something different every time we visit!

I was craving soup dumplings and have heard about this place so decided to come and try them here. The service was good. We were checked on and our waiter was very pleasant. The pork soup dumplings had good flavor, but several of them did not have soup in them, which was pretty underwhelming. If I am coming somewhere for soup dumplings, I would like each one to be filled with broth. The sour and spicy dumplings were good and I'd order them again. The restaurant was clean and the tables are huge and spacious. All in all, I'd come back here to give them another shot and try other items on their menu. Hopefully I can come back with an updated 5 star review in the future!

Our first time here and it was fantastic. The place is pretty big lots of seating and the decoration and vibe felt modern and cute....almost like an anime. The service was exceptional, our waitress Jasmine was very kind, patient, informative, and made our dinner fun for our 1 year old daughter. The food was delicious and I was really impressed with the authenticity and quality of the dumplings. The baby bok choy was one of my favorite, it was flavored really well. After such a great dinner and I mean we ordered a lot when the check came it was surprisingly well priced. I expected the bill to be bigger but it was very reasonable. I definitely want to come back and try other things on the menu.

C3. Mongolian Beef

Very popular Chinese restaurant. Some traditional dishes handed down through the generations. Flavors are good but do not pop. This is my second time here, and I enjoy the drinks and food. There is plenty of space, with tables for two, four, and six. Tables have soy sauce, vinegar, hot chili sauce, and a pepper mixture. These are used for the dipping sauces for pot stickers and dumplings. I am hooked on the Passion Fruit Bloom w/Lychee and Boba. My buddy likes the Panda Oreo Black Tea. For appetizers, we had the sautéed string beans which were plentiful and good. We have learned that any appetizer needs a to-go box once the entrees come out. Most flavorful goes to the Blue Crab dumplings. Great depth and balance of flavors. The dumplings and potstickers are the only dishes so far that we can finish easily. The Mongolian Beef has lots of onions, and a smattering of beef. It is a mound of onions for sure. The Spicy Boiled Beef looked intimidating with such a large bowl. Once again, lots of veggies with a smattering of beef. I enjoy the different flavors and dishes, but would like to see more meat in the dishes.

Love, love, love!! My friend and I stumbled upon this place while in the area and thoroughly enjoyed our food. We found a primo parking spot directly in front and when we walked inside we were immediately greeted and seated. The restaurant was spacious with plenty of seating, was clean, and had cool decor. Our server, Jasmine, was fabulous!!! She took the time to ask if we had any food allergies, answered questions, thoroughly went over the menu, and always made an effort to check on us throughout our lunch service. Shout out to Jasmine! The menu was huge- apps, dim sum, rice plates, noodles, dumplings, boba teas, smoothies, you name it. It was soooo hard to choose... can I just try one of each lol impossible All items are shareable, we therefore ordered and shared a beef noodle soup and pork soup dumplings. Both delicious!!! Beef noodle soup- a rich beef broth with bok choy, cooked egg, tender chunks of beef, and for our noodle we chose the home made wide noodles. Sooooo good and perfect for 2 Pork soup dumplings- came with 8 pieces. Gorgeous pieces and be sure to use your special soup spoon as each piece contained an explosion of soup and minced pork with each bite. I drizzled each of mine with the table side chili oil. Excellent food and service. I'll definitely be back! 5% military discount offered, must show ID

A few years ago it was Pho. So, I do have a favorite, but I still need to try new places. Well, I am, & this place is pretty phenomenal. The inside is so sweet & simple. You feel real comfortable & peaceful being in there I found them just by driving through the parking lot looking for Holy Pops for a Yelp Elite event. I wanted to try them out, & I'm so happy I did. They exceed my expectations. I walked in & was greeted by one of the waitresses, I let her know it would be a to go order, but I've never been there. She explained how things could be ordered. Steamed vs fried, for example. I regret not snapping photos of the menu, but they have one online. For that matter my food was consumed before a single photo was taken. (That's how you know it's good! At least with me! ) I went with an order of pan fried dumplings, an order of pan fried pork bao, & one order steamed pork bao. Do not be in a rush when you come. Everything is made fresh. You want it to be. Oh my goodness. These bao are amazing. The dough is the perfect thickness, IMO. The meatball inside though mine were a little larger than a golf ball. Juicy, flavorful & couldn't get enough. Made me want a dozen!. Just don't have the stomach to eat that many. Means I'll have to make more trips. The dumplings, pan fried - were so delicious. Again, piping hot! I'd say the little meatball was about half the size of the bao one. I ordered the shrimp, pork & lamb dumplings (I think. ) They had shrimp in them though. And they were amazing Okay, so me saying all my food was piping hot - here's the thing - this place is on Stone Oak, I live in the Brooks City Base area, it was still piping hot when I got home. Y'all know the traffic in this city right now! Don't waste anymore time. Go check them out. Wanna know about the staff? I'll continue! So, my order took about 25 minutes. Okay I ordered a lot, the place was full also, & again everything is made fresh. Oh! Also, you can watch them make it all. The two waitresses & the waiter checked on me often, - (when I came in. I sit in my car most of the time & inform them. Then, I just come sit down.) They apologized & I explained I make this food, I understand & am happy to wait, just means it'll be good. I would definitely recommend ordering this with rice, or taking it home and making your own. The dumplings and spring rolls were crispy, but nothing special. I did like the duck sauce they had -- I would have asked my server for more of it, but she was busy in the back or something, not sure. I wish she would've checked in on me a bit more during the visit so I could have gotten more napkins and sauce. The service was alright. I wish I would've gotten checked on a little bit more, but she was nice and helped me pack my noodles to go. Overall, this spot wasn't terrible, but if I had to choose, I'd probably try another place.

We did have to wait a bit for tables to be pushed together and gotten ready for us but it was less than 10 minutes. We were immediately seated after this was done and the vibes immediately gave off, fast but fresh. We all placed our drink orders almost as soon as we were given menus and our drinks were immediately brought to us within 5 minutes (there was a large group of 8 of us). We placed a large sharable order for the entire table along with our main entrees. There is a notation on the menu stipulating the wait time on the dumplings being a minimum of 15 minutes which was perfectly fine with us all seeing as we could clearly see the dumplings being made fresh from the kitchen from where we were seated (the closest table to the kitchen). Our waitress was extremely patient with us, extremely knowledgeable of the entire menu, AND extremely willing to help us when needed. The dumplings, regardless of which you order- in which WAY they're cooked-are absolutely amazing. Flavorful and filled with juice. AND THOSE AREN'T even the soup dumplings! The soup dumplings (we ordered 3 orders during the sit down meal and ordered 2 to go) were positively amazingly flavored. Well balanced in their taste and was such a delight to eat. Our main dishes came shortly after the dumplings arrived. There were 6 adults and 2 children for this meal. We each ordered our own dishes and shared them amongst each other. One of the dishes ordered was pork belly ramen with no cilantro. As soon as it arrived, although to my pallet, it was beautifully balanced and rich in flavor, the adult whom ordered it did not like it and sent it back to the kitchen. The waitress asked why the food was being sent back to which the response was simply just a taste issue. It was replaced with an order of soup dumplings and the cost of the pork belly was removed from the bill (they did not have to do so but it was absolutely amazing that they did do this). Overall, the food, the experience, and the staff were amazing. We did order 5 dishes fresh to go and they did not disappoint. 1000/1000 will be coming back here again.

Initially I wasn't sure what to think about mixing BBQ with curry, but I was quickly won over!…read more We are in Texas, so naturally I had to try the brisket. It is served over green curry, which also happens to be my favorite! The brisket is served on top of the curry bowl, so I first tried just the meat. It was fall apart tender, perfectly moist, and full of flavor! I would pick their brisket over most other BBQ joints in a heartbeat! Next up was the curry by itself. It was also delicious and filled with potatoes and carrots! I am used to green curry being pretty spicy, but this is definitely a milder green curry. When I mixed the brisket in it was the perfect combination! The smokey meat blended with the curry spices was a delight to the palette, and it was just the right amount of food for a big and hungry guy like me! I can't wait to go back to try some of the other dishes! Great food! Fair and reasonable price! Friendly service! Definitely worth checking out!

I would honestly go back just to order those again. The lemongrass BBQ sauce was insanely good!! It was so flavorful and it paired perfectly with the pork belly. I could probably drink that sauce if I'm being honest. And if you're wondering whether to trust my review... you probably should. I'm originally from New Orleans, where the food scene is top-notch and we don't mess around when it comes to good food. This place definitely lived up to the hype. If you're in San Antonio and thinking about trying it, do it. Easy five stars for me
