IMPORTANT UPDATE (August 13, 2024) I was a loyal Luray customer for over 3 years but my last visit this week has made me walk away from Luray and find a new nail salon I can call home. My go to nail tech Tammy was taking a much needed and well deserved 5 week vacation and ensured that before she left she let me know who would be doing my nails (as I get very intricate designs and pedicures every 2 weeks) and that nail tech was Kate. I had a hunch Kate may be nervous about doing my nails so I intentionally waited 3 weeks before making my appointment and also selected a very basic nail design for her to complete to make things easier for both of us until Tammy returned. Kate immediately greeted my by saying she hoped I didn't have a difficult design and began removing my prior design and completing my refill. When I showed Kate the design I wanted (which was simple) she immediately said she could not complete that design and that I needed to get cats eye or chrome to which I reminded her she knew that was not my style ... Kate basically said too bad and that she wasn't doing the design I wanted. I then stated that I would find a different salon to do my design and pedicure and she simply said OK. I was truly disappointed but became even more upset when I looked at my nails to see that Kate completed my refill over FUNGUS! When I asked her why she would do that she said because Tammy would fix it when she returned from vacation in 2 weeks. To make matters worse when I discussed this experience with the owners they said Kate could refuse any service she wanted to and that there was basically nothing they could do other than offer me a 10% discount on my NEXT SERVICE! Needless to say I told them there would be no next service for me as that day would be my last day patronizing Luray since they were providing such a terrible experience in addition to potentially causing me HEALTH CONCERNS by completing a refill over evident FUNGUS and allowing it to sit under my nails for 2 weeks until Tammy returned. I went to another nail salon and explained and showed what occurred and they immediately removed the refill removing the fungus and also completed my design PERFECTLY on the first try! The new salon (The GLOSSARY in Reston) won me as a new customer that day and although I'm sad to say goodbye to Tammy. I am happy to now give my money to a salon who values me and takes nail health seriously. read more

I made an appointment at Luray Nails after seeing it had so many high reviews. I made an appointment for gel nails with Tammy. When I entered the nail salon, I felt like the staff seemed annoyed I was there. It wasn't the most welcoming environment. However, Tammy was sweet and I loved how my nails turned out. A gel manicure was $40 and I had opted for a chrome finish which cost another $15. read more

I really hate to do this but I've been to this location multiple times and my luck with gel manicures has always missed the mark - pedicures are fine. The staff is skilled but some lack best application practices - i got a gel mani and pedi - the mani literally chipped the next day and since I have a newborn at home I couldn't go in until a couple or days later which was frustrating enough. The tech fixed it but by the next day the top coat was literally peeling off on multiple nails and they now look horrible it's extremely disappointing that they didn't even last the he 2 weeks even after they were fixed. I'm honestly not sure if I'll be back. I barely have time as a new mom - took a chance on this salon and I'm not happy with the results. read more

For some reason, no matter how far I book in advance, I always have to wait at least 30 minutes to get someone to start on my nails. The people who work here do not seem to care that I have made an appointment but still have to wait ages. This has happened countless times at this point. read more

Completely rude and disrespectful of time. Gave us appointments at 4:15, had us wait on pedicure chairs, since there's no waiting area. Then she tells me 40 min later that she has two clients ahead of me. That's fine; life happens but why did you tell me to come at 4:15? Complete waste of time. read more

* Originally posted 2/26/21* Edited and Reposted 1/26/22 Here I am again on my own. Trying out a new nail salon for my feet....nope, I am doing the mani/pedicure today. Leah K. Is the reason I am here. This is the second Luxury Nails I have been to. Today's experience so far is much better than my first experience. Oh, I should tell you that these two businesses are separate places. Speaking of places, this place is small, but comfortable. There are five Spa chairs in this establishment, but three of them are set up use while the other two are out of action for now. This is to protect the guests from being to close to each other. The plastic barriers do the same thing for you and your nail technician. Today my technician is named T, but from the star on her shirt, I think of her as Star. Star was careful not to cut living tissue on my cuticles. I did ask that the drill be used for the feet and to NOT cut the cuticles on my feet. Star complied, but she also cut my cuticles on my feet. ( main reason for not having 4 stars) The overall experience of my manicure/pedicure is about 70% satisfactory. For whatever reason I feel this whole procedure was rushed and only the effort put in. It probably wasn't, but it felt that way. (another reason for the 3 star review) Nevertheless, I tipped Star ten bucks. The male staff member was polite and welcoming. The Male staff member seemed to be the manager on duty. He gave off the impression of a young college student, but he is a cool dude. Unfortunately I did not get his name. Star didn't speak to me, but most nail technicians I have encountered aren't talkative...except to each other. Still, if I were asked if I would come back to this place. The answer is yes. The place honors its discounts and us clientele appreciate this. Not sure when I will be back, but it will happen again. read more

Day 7 Update: I have three major breaks on a gel manicure done by Kate. I'm very disappointed in this salon. In regards to the vendor response below, I tried to message directly before posing this review (via IG) and did not receive a response, so my assumption is they aren't focused on customer satisfaction, but rather only reacting to a negative review. Day 3 Original Review: I tried this salon and got a gel manicure with Kate based on yelp reviews, unfortunately it's only day 3 and the polish has already started chipping. I won't be back. Another negative of this salon is that tips are CASH ONLY. They will not give you cash back at the register and they will not accept Venmo tips.h read more

Really just went on a leap a faith when coming here, since I did absolutely no research at all before making my appointment. I got my nails done by Tammy, and I really feel like I got lucky, because she is absolutely amazing. She's so precise, great at shaping, her application, and her polishing is so good on top of all that she's fast! When it comes to pedicures I've been to a few different people and they all seem to do good jobs. But for nails I'm sticking to Tammy... I've tried at least 3 other techs in there and I always have a complaint. read more

Great salon with talented technicians. I've been a client of Fanny for almost 20 years, and her new salon has everything you need. A variety of nail services, waxing, and pedicures, and the biggest selection of polish colors I've ever seen! Prices a fair, and the staff know what they're doing. I visited this salon a few months ago - after sooo many disappointing experiences at other salons in the area- i decided to give it a try after reading some really good and encouraging reviews online! first time I requested Kate and to this date I cannot change her, she is just amazing and does a really great job. she is very attentive, caring and makes sure you are totally satisfied. I love this nail salon. I have been going here for a few months & will never look back. I just changed nail salons & decided to give Luray Nails a shot. I always get tip extensions with dip. I LOVE Raven. She is absolutely the best nail tech I have ever had (I've been getting my nails done in several states growing up for the past 14 years). Best salon ever (also very clean). I guess I can go with Four Stars on this, my first visit. I made an appointment online for a 40 minute pedicure. When I arrived, I was the only customer. They checked my temperature and had me sign in to the online database and then wash my hands before I could take a seat. They didn't double check which service I was in for and just started working. It was a nice pedicure - but was over in 20 minutes. They just performed the base pedicure and sent me out the door. I expected to receive and pay for the 40 minute pedi... but it is what it is. read more

I've been coming back to this salon for the past 3-4 months during COVID because of their great service and their ability to limit the number of guests. They are located right by Walmart and Dunkin Donuts and I was pleasantly surprised by their customer service. I have only received pedicures, but each time, I was the only guest and they use partitions to protect you from the technician as well as other guests. They have great promotions which led me to get the deluxe options. I would recommend others to come to this salon! They are extremely pleasant and sweet with all your request. I feel like a queen when I am here and would suggest others to come feel like royalty as you get your nails done! read more

This was easily the best manicure and pedicure I've gotten - thank you Lucy! I was in and out in an hour and 10 minutes for both services, whereas my previous salon took two hours just for a manicure. Lucy did an incredible job - perfect technique, application and result. She didn't need to refile them or reapply my dip 10 times, she did it perfectly the first time. The coffin shape on my natural nails are even and the tops are flat. If you want an expert manicure that will leave you staring at your nails for 20 minutes, Lucy at this salon is the way to go. read more

All I have to say is: OMG. I am so so glad I tried this place out. I had seen some reviews and really wanted to find a new nail place as some others in the area just weren't cutting it. I came in on a Friday morning and signed in via an iPad, was quickly sat and had a super quick gel manicure. It was way better than my expectations - Nancy did a fantastic job. She was super polite and they made sure to tell me if I had any issues I could come back and get it fixed. Customer service 10/10 and my manicure was 12/10!!!! read more

Avoid this place. I have given it MULTIPLE CHANCES since it is so close to my office. The first time I made an appointment, got there on time and I was asked to wait 15-20 minutes. Didn't return for a year until I was in a pinch and I made another appointment. Asked for a 6PM time. Was asked to make it 6:30 to which I said ok no problem. Then at 5:50 the guy working the front desk starts calling and texting me saying they can take me earlier can I come in. Completely unprofessional and kept blowing up my phone while I was at work since I adjusted me schedule to work around their initial 6:30 request. The third time I went there the same thing happened! Couldn't accommodate my appointment time, then blew up my phone asking me to come in sooner. Last and final time I didn't make an appointment to avoid that mess and I was told I would have to wait 40 min for a mani. It's Monday at 3oclock... In addition it is a relatively new salon but not well kept or organized. Avoid if you would like to keep your sanity. read more

Tammy is the best nail tech in the area! She does the best nail shapes and even takes the time to help me decide on what nail colors to do! I'm super picky but I always leave with BOMB nails!!! She is also super nice and goes out of her way to take care of my nails. My first time with her, I had very thin and damaged nails so she did a thicker set to ensure they don't break. Now my nails are strong and healthy thanks to her I am also a hair stylist and I need my nails to be durable. My nails last a long time and still look amazing! read more

Let me start by saying I never write reviews. That being said, this is my third time going to them and let me say there has not been one time that I was dissatisfied. Everyone there is extremely friendly, helpful, and very talented. I am a surgical assistant so I wash my hands constantly and it's hard for me to get my nails done because of my hours. BUT these nails last forever! I can go a month without any of the polish coming off. They have help my natural nails grow happy and healthy! They are also extremely clean and follow all CDC guidelines during this hard time. I recommend them to any and every person I come across. If I could give them more than five stars I would! read more
