Food was pretty descent . 7/10 . I had the quesadilla with chicken ! We had tacos , salmon and some dips . Tortillas were good not hot/fresh but were good . I like the dips (beans ) super good . Service was cool , waiter was energetic but got one of our orders wrong so one of us didn't eat .. it took too long to get the food . They give kiddos a free ice cream . Ambiance is live very noisy but I enjoyed myself .

Lupe Tortilla is by far the best Tex-Mex spot in Houston and is a longtime staple for me and my family. I've been coming here since I was a kid! I prefer the Original spot because it has a more homey and cozy vibe than their other locations. Plus, it has a sandbox, which holds so many memories from when I was a kid. I always make sure to bring out of state guests here. Their fajitas are just so juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Their complimentary bean dip is also my favorite. Two downsides that I can think of. 1) They don't accept reservations. But there's so much seating available that the wait has never been too bad for us (from what I recall). 2) They don't offer margarita pitchers. Lot parking is available. Overall, I LOVE Lupe. If you're ever in Houston, be sure to give this spot a try!

Original Lupe Tortilla. Service and atmosphere: We really like this location for its charm and cozy environment. The restaurant is Nicky decorated and organised. It has homely feel about it. There are plenty of seating areas both inside and outside. The service was good. Food and drinks: Extensive selection of food menu items. You can find many familiar Mexican dishes here. - I ordered chicken Juanita. Unfortunately, the chicken was super overcooked and very dry. I had to use salsa that was served with chips to moisten the meat. - Mexican pizza is simply crispy tortilla with meat and cheese melted on top. Would choose something different next time. We have not ordered alcoholic beverages but they have good selection of them. Pricing: $$ regular for most items. Some seafood or steak dishes go over $30. P.S. this is my favourite location for the atmosphere (4 stars) but prefer food quality from other Lupe Tortilla restaurants. 3 stars for food at this location.

Food is always fresh and hot! One of my favorite Tex Mex restaurants! For a healthier meal option their Fajita wrap is delicious! Service is always great and restaurant is clean.

There is lots of parking with a policeman (not a security guard) watching the vehicles. Our waitress, Karla, was new to serving, but you would never know it. She was very attentive, knowledgeable, and pleasant. Forty years ago I think the building was a home--lots of small rooms with eclectic decor consisting mostly of Mexican "stuff" and African animal statues. We enjoyed looking at the many items on the ledges and walls. Beans, pico de gallo, and chips were brought to our table as soon as we were settled. We ordered the trio salsa (Cilantro Jalapeño Sauce, Queso, and Spicy Red Sauce). All were very good. Our margaritas were fantastic and went great with the beef and chicken Tacos al Carbon. We will return to Lupe's for another fantastic evening.

The food is wonderful -- at least what I ordered. However, the size of my fajita order was smaller than the little appetizer plate they brought. Honestly, that's disappointing, especially considering the price. When I mentioned it, I wasn't looking for anything more than a polite response. Instead, I got jokes and was told they have a larger portion meant for two. That wasn't the point. I left feeling dismissed, which isn't how I expected to feel after an otherwise good meal.

Will never be back.! I've never had to argue with not only a waiter. But then the manager and they were so rude. They asked me how the food was and if everything was good, I told them no that there was only bell peppers on a menu item that listed vegetables then they told me I didn't know what I was talking about and that I could just leave and never come back so I would never come here if

This restaurant is a maze once you enter. It reminds me of a house that was converted to a restaurant. Nice, but a little confusing if you need to find a restroom. The waiter was attentive and provided good service. The taste of everything was good. The chicken Lupe according to their menu is 2 chicken breast. My qualm is I did receive two chicken breast, but from the pictures you can see that I received one chicken breast and one chicken tender. Although they were good, I would have throughly enjoyed a full size chicken breast.

I was in this area and did a search for a Mexican place near me and Lupe Tortilla popped up so we drove on over. The parking was limited due to this restaurant being on the corner with 3 other restaurant at the other corners... but there was a parking lot in back that I didn't see because I was lucky enough to get a spot directly in front of the entrance. We went straight to the bar because we were only there for margaritas!!! I ordered Lupe's Grand Marnier Margarita on the rocks with salt. Man, this drink was quite yummy and strong!!! The drink is served in a small glass that you pour into the margarita glass... but if you order frozen, it's already in the big margarita glass. I must say I was a bit disappointed that we were not offered chips and salsa even though we were not ordering food, but it wasn't a huge deal since we were already stuffed from our meal we had just finished somewhere else. Had we not been pressed for time we would have had another round and if I'm in that area again and want a margarita, I'll go back there.

Super nice service. Chips and queso are good. Super thin chips. Had the burrito with ground beef. Was tasty with lots of flavor.

The atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. We had margaritas and they definitely had the alcohol in them. Queso was solid. The chips were light and crispy with just the right amount of salt. We had the jalapeño cilantro chicken - which was frankly a bit bland. We also had the chicken fajita pablano nachos. Loved them. They were individually dressed so each bite was perfect. We got a flan to go which was top tier. Overall pricing was a bit high for what you got.

When asked "who has the best texmex in Houston ", my answer is "Lupe's". But I mean the one off Highway 6, not this one in Katy. Here in Katy the kitchen isn't the same, the food not quite as good. The service can be spotty too. Take my last waiter for instance. You would have though you were in Boston he was that surly. 3 stars for atmosphere and drinks.

Outside patio was a pleasant spot to sit and enjoy my meal.

Ambiance was perfect for my private meal . I enjoyed my appetizer ribs was perfect amount. The music was pleasant and my waiter was just Amazing (Jimmy) he was nice and helpful. Will be back really enjoyed it

A place I grew up in as a little girl in Beaumont but never have I've visit this "original" location. Stepping in to this spot felt like a restaurant in the country of Mexico. I ordered the El Henry. I absolutely loved my dish, only thing I would've chance was the cheese enchilada definitely would've swap for a chicken or beef one, or maybe even a flaunta. I really like the Mexican rice, it had little potatoes and carrots in it. Some of the best Mexican yellow rice I've had. They offer a cinco de mayo drink special. The only thing that seem to make it special was the drinks apparently were limited edition menu items. Nothing was special about the prices. The regular menu drinks were a dollar(s) less. The margarita I ordered first was peach coconut. I didn't taste the coconut at all. I swap for the peach strawberry ($14 or 15) which was great, sweet& strong. One did me just right. You get to select up to two flavors for additional $2 (for both verse each, that's a plus. Not worded on menu). If you select a third flavor an additional $2 would be added ($4 in total) I appreciate separate tickets provided after confirmation and no additional gratuity automatically added, which he got tip equally the same or more. When asked about the "empty" patio that was available, he informed us that the entire deck was reserved. Upon departing I noticed from the parking lot individual tables, of separate parties were occupying only 3 tables. It was 8 of us sitting at 2 tables. Which the table was pushed up against the wall, and one side was inaccessible, which took away spacing. Service was lovely space was really tight. Good thing some of the ladies didn't order full meals. Definitely wouldn't have been able to fit every plate.

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. All of the drinks were very pretty and it seemed like everyone enjoyed them, too! We started with their chips and salsa trio, which we all really liked. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

The "queso" w/carne seemed to be out of a can-it was orange & didn't have the consistency of real cheese- wasn't really cheese & was disgusting. It was $9.99. It definitely is enough for 2. The meat melts in your mouth. EVERYTHING is better quality than here. Teo charged $1.50 for perhaps 4 or 5 slices of lime to make the happy hour margaritas made with a gross mix drinkable. That's outrageous. It reminds me that I had stopped going long ago when they charged extra for onions on enchiladas. Come on. You don't charge extra for chopped onions! I have never been to another restaurant that does so. Some even provide carmelized grilled onions gratis. I'm convinced that a $15. YUMMY mango margarita at Pappasitos would have given us the same buzz & tasted better than 8 happy hour margaritas here. I used to love the in house made flour tortillas at Teo. Tonight they were tough & uneventful. We arrived on a week night when they were not busy. Neither of the salsas were as good as they used to be.The water pitcher didn't even have ice when they refilled the water. I have absolutely no desire to return. Why would I?

Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.
