Beautiful and modern setting with excellent service and great food. This spot was recommended to us by the owners of another Florentine steak restaurant when we couldn't get a seat at that restaurant. We didn't know what to expect except that Lungarno serves steak, but we just went with it. And so glad we did. The dining was upscale but didn't have any of the stuffiness one would expect from fine dining. We decided to try the seafood tasting menu which included 2 appetizers, 2 pastas, 1 main course, 1 dessert of your choice, and coffee and water. Price was set at 70 euros/person (minimum of 2 orders). They also had a non-seafood option for 60 euros (I think), but we weren't as interested in that tasting menu since it included duck, liver, and veal. Out of our seafood tasting menu, our favorites were the shrimp and white bean appetizer, the seafood risotto (so good!), and the sea bass with grilled vegetables. Desserts were also decadent and beautifully presented, paired perfectly with our cappuccinos. The staff also made a spaghetti with bolognese for our kids since that's all the wanted to eat in Italy. (Sigh.) One thing we did notice was that they mistakenly added separate dessert charges on our final bill although those were included in our tasting menu. They apologized immediately and took it off saying it was an oversight because they were pretty busy at that point in the evening. Glad we checked (as one should.) Stroll along the Arno and you'll come across Lungarno Bistrot, where Florentine steak is the specialty. A modern yet relaxing atmosphere, with outstanding service (trust me, they were extremely gracious when we sent a corked bottle of red back). We had an outstanding meal seated next to a young family from Rome who made the trip just for the steak. Started with antipasto, then Florentine steak (rare) and lemon sorbet to finish. Champagne offered upon being seated followed by a northern Italy Gewurtztraminer and a Chianti with the steak. Service was exceptional. Our favorite restaurant in Firenze and Roma! After trying to get a reservation in two other restaurants unsuccessfully, Lorenzo from Hotel L'orologio recommended this spot just across the river that we had passed several times on bike/vespa and thought it was cute. We arrived to a warm welcome and delicious glass of prosecco to their gorgeous dining room (and outdoor dining al fresco is equally gorgeous if the weather permits). We loved the vertical green walls and comfortable seats. Their wine menu had reasonable options and we opted for a Le Volte which was delicious and truly drinkable. The menu was wide and had the Florentine favorites but also lots of seafood and the chef's menu (traditional and seafood). We chose the seafood tasting menu and did not regret it. We also opted for the tiramisu which was the best we had in Italy. It was light and had some fresh crispiness but absolutely divine. The service from the maitre'd and other servers were top notch, friendly and respectful. The clientele was from all over Europe (including locals) and America. Best of all, the prices were really reasonable and not ripoffs like some of the tourist traps like Gargani (ugh). Bottom line: We would highly recommend this if you find yourself hungry in Florence. read more

My husband and I were so impressed with this restaurant. The place is beautiful and feels very trendy but romantic. The food was by far the best meal we had on our trip to Florence. We had a fantastic bottle of Chianti, ravioli, smoked fish plate, beef filet and the tuna. Then we ended with a dessert tasting plate and a dessert wine- wow!! The homemade cheesecake is ridiculously delicious. From start to finish this restaurant was incredible. Homemade everything! The wait staff was super friendly and attentive. Beautiful views of the Arno river from the outdoor patio. Would recommend highly and absolutely return next time we're in Florence. read more

The food very good, but before we ordered I asked for separate checks, the waiter said he would, no problem. Had not seen our waiter for while so Igot up and told the manager that we had tickets to a Musicale and we needed our checks. The manager finally brought one check rudely contradicted our waiter and said he cannot afford to make separate checks. We barely made it to the Musicale. I don't think we divided the bill fairly. With computers, separate checks are not that big a problem. Our bill was E 346.00 and some of our party did not have wine. read more

We were tired after traveling all day and only wanted a light meal. The service was poor and they tried to change us $20 more than the bill after we said that we did not want to add a tip on top of 2 coperot charges of $2 each ($4) and a Servizio tavolo charge of $5. Also when we were looking for a wine they gave us the most expensive one on the menus that we did not even like. (Note: Total bill was a little over $50 even with a $17 glass of wine). Also when the water came over to get our order - he did not even give us the specials, which he gave to every other table after us. I was staying at the Portrait Firenze, (part of the Lungarno chain) We went on our last night in Italy, because it was highly recommended by our hotel. The florentine steak is amazing and so is all the rest of the food like the eggplant parmesan. The service was excellent. We got free champagne as well. We were greeted with free champagne when we arrived. My boyfriend and I split a pasta, which was delicious. Both of our entrees seemed to be influenced by Asian flavors. My fried seafood was a little too oily, but still good. We ended the night with a tiramisu to split and some complimentary limoncello. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. They made our romantic evening in Florence that more enjoyable. Also, there was no cover charge and they only charged 10% for service. I think they deserved a lot more than 10%. Introduced by the hotel bearing the same name. A bit skeptical at first as this was the restaurant that we can make a last minute booking! They had a season sampler with three different seafood! Absolutely delicious! My daughter ordered a Cavetelli with sea food which was an excellent choice. A bit upscale in pricing but you won't be disappointed! read more

Nice tasting menu but cannot recommend this restaurant to those with food allergies like me. 1 star for the restaurant forgetting about the allergen in the food and having to throw up the yelp rated $$$$ meal plus standard 10 percent service charge and losing a night of the trip. Plus 1 star for at least trying by swapping the offending dessert and offering a nice extra local liquor. read more

Very warm friendly helpful staff- while looking for a place to have an apertivo the host graciously directed us to a place across the river. We went back to Lungarno bistrot for dinner a few nights later. Good food, complimentary prosecco, lovely setting outside while watching the evening settle over the river. Enjoyed our first meal in Florence here and cannot say enough good things! The ambiance was great, not too casual or too stuffy. The service was impeccable. The other diners were a mix of locals and tourists so it provided a great mix of "people watching". The vegetarian flan with Gorgonzola is a must have and the tiramisu was one of the best we have had! Definitely make a booking here! read more
