    Pita and tzatziki

Simply delicious and authentic Greek food. Our waitress spoke English and was kind as she described different dishes. The place is small and has about eight tables, but so worth waiting or returning for an opportunity to eat great food. Definitely start with pita and tzatziki.

I came by this greek bistro completely by accident while I was walking down via Cavour from piazza San Marco. When I stepped into the door, I was immediately greeted by one of their staff and she explained all of the dishes. Everything sounded good, but I was deciding between one of their pita sandwiches and a torta of phyllo dough which was filled with feta. I ended up getting a pita sandwich that is normally filled with feta, salad, fries, tzatziki sauce and your choice of meat. She made mine senza meat and it was delicious. To finish I ordered a cafe macchiato, which was amazing! Coffee is by Illy and served in one of their uniquely designed cups. The atmosphere of this bistro is nicely filled with mediterranean paintings and you can see right into the kitchen and watch some of the dishes being prepared. The only issue that I can see being a problem here is that there are only three tables and not very much space elsewhere. I did see a downstairs area but I couldn't see what was down there, if there were tables or not. They are open saturdays and sundays too until 10pm (closed only on Mondays). "Alas le delizie greche" is a great place to pick up some greek specialties to take home such as hummus and feta, as well as typical greek sweets, honey and jams. Cute gift ideas, which come nicely wrapped. Very cute place, worth checking out if you are in the San Marco area ... much better than those overpriced pizza / gelato spots around the corner!!

My FAVORITE meals in Florence were in this restaurant! I've been continuously underwhelmed with our meals in the city. I found this place by recommendations on tripadvisor and people were NOT kidding when they suggested that tourists visit this place! I'm a huge fan of Greek food and this is by far the best food I've ever had. I ordered the gyro with chicken and it is simply divine. The pita is grilled to a crisp and I've never had anything like it!! This place also has the best french fries I've had in Florence! It's so, so, good and a deliciousness you need to taste before you leave! The service here is great! You'll find some of the chefs conversational and humorous. This place is a must, no kidding!!!

Cod on a bed of fennel and potatoes

Dinner tonight was in this small Greek restaurant. The waitress was very nice and friendly and able to speak several languages. One of the specialties tonight was cod on a bed of fennel with potatoes and cherry tomatoes. That is what I tried. It is a specialty of a tiny Greek island whose name I do not recall. It is not visited by tourists according to our waitress. We also enjoyed a white wine from Greece. We do not care for retsina so our waitress recommended another wine. It was a very pleasant dinner!

Amazing Greek food in Florence. Was a little hard to get a seat and we had to sit at the bar, but the delicious food made up for it.

When I heard a new greek place was opened, I really got excited. I mean one can never have enough…read moreethnic food if you ask me! The place itself, located near piazza san marco has all the ingredients for greatness too. A nice ambiance, local products that they sell there and even a little courtyard, that looks a little like someone's backyard (because I think it is). I went with a few friends and we started with a cheese platter which was good I will say, in fact, I would wager it would be worth coming back just for that and some pita bread with wine for a nice aperitivo. But lunch was just 'eh.' While I like when people sell themselves as local home cooking (and here had a Crete edge), they have to be good at exactly that, the menu options were ok but nothing to really get excited about. My moussaka was nice enough, I enjoyed it. My husband's platter of octopus was really a downer. The octopus was really chewy, it felt overcooked and the sauce was nothing special. In fact he didn't end up finishing the dish because straight up, it wasn't appetizing. We love 'polpo' but it is of the finicky sort. The wine was ok, they don't have a list yet (or at least when I went) so you'll need to ask the options and the price. The place has potential but I just was really turned off by that octopus, if you're looking for greek, there is also a great place on via cavour as recommended by my friend Coral or Curious Appetite, but you can always try this place and decide for yourself.

Seriously, it was some of the best Greek food that I have ever tasted! Their specialty is food from Crete and some of the dishes that Chef Markus prepares are have very unique and delightful flavor profiles. If you are on the fence...just try it, I am very sure that you will be back for more like I was. I just wish that it was in Los Angeles!!
