We went here once at lunch while visiting Florence for 5 days. In retrospect, I wish we had gone back here a few more times. The foods, the services, and the peaceful outdoor tables are so much more charming on this side of the Arno river than the other side. This restaurant is located in Ottrano where local dined out away from the crowd that visit the Duomo and the Accademia. It's only 15 mins walk across the river and it's well worth it.

Overall: this was a nice find for a few hungry tourists! We did not have a reservation but were seated outside fairly quickly. The service was good and quicker than most European places with lots of options for food. Food: We had the bruschetta, linguine with clams, and a wild boar ragù pasta. We ended the meal with a latte. - bruschetta: not bad, but we've had better. It was still refreshing though on a hot day. - linguine with clams: exactly what I wanted and a perfect portion! I didn't know that squid inn would be included in the dish, so that was a fun surprise as I swirled my pasta around in the dish. - wild boar ragù pasta: listed on their weekly lunch special menu, we were extremely impressed. It was light and tasty with the perfect amount on the plate.

We grabbed lunch here when we were in town since it was nearby to our hotel. We had two aperol spritzes and I ordered the sausage pasta, my friend a sandwich. The kitchen must have been on lunch break because a ton of people were seated but no orders were coming out. Once they started back up and food was flowing things were good. I wouldn't write home over this pasta dish, I mean I make some unbelievable Tuscan pastas and meals at home so a pasta winning me over usually needs to be something that I don't dabble with quite often (like a carbonara). My dish was flavorful and I enjoyed it. My friend seemed to like his sandwich, and brought half to go. If I had to take my pick over Gusta Osteria or Gusta Pizza, Gusta Pizza wins because I am obsessed with pizza but this was a fine lunch spot if you're looking to relax in the area for a bit.

Excellent Food, and warm ambiance. Have spent 2 weeks in Italy this was hands down the best spaghetti and meatball I have had. The ragu with boar was tender and flavorful!

Solid spot! Right in the center of all the fun. The food is very fresh and tasty. My favorite had to be the meatball it was amazzzing! I got the Lasagna, my friend got a meat sauce pasta, and a clam pasta! Everything was great!

I came back here twice because it was so good! The pesto pasta was phenomenal, as well as the eggplant Parmesan. Even on a Saturday night, our group of 6 was able to be seated immediately which was great. Great location too!

Very fresh and unique menu, I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Restaurant was slammed busy, staff did the best they could to serve us which they did very quickly. The meal filled me up, they don't skimp on portion size. Kudos, overall a great experience.

The food here was pretty basic. It could be that I misordered since I thought I was getting a dish I ordered somewhere else the day before. But the couple next to us also didn't seem too enthused by their meal either. Just a reminder that Tuscan food is different from what you think about typical Italian food. The service was good though. Limited indoor seating but a great view of the church. Note: Came back another day for drinks and they turned us away bc they don't do drinks only. You must order lunch. Not sure if that's custom or not.

This is the best, most low-key restaurant in Florence's the employees are so kind and the food is always incredible. I have never been disappointed here. If you come to Florence, eat here! Gustapizza and Gustabar are also great too - the service is unbeatable!!

Looks can be deceiving. The only dish which didn't taste good :( giant meatball.

The restaurant we were originally supposed to dine in was closed for the day and after frantically running around in starvation mode and still not trying to settle for lesser quality, we decided on this little restaurant tucked in a streets corner. This restaurant specializes in Tuscan cuisine which offers more meats and soups than pastas. My friend opted for the famous Florentine steak and a Greek salad and I went with a dish offering a giant meatball along with a Greek salad. Another friend had lasagna. I think my food ranked worst on the food-o-meter. The meatball was just not appetizing. Tasted like I was eating one big hotdog. The Greek salad was pretty basic but the olive oil and red pepper oil brought out the taste. My friends enjoyed their steak immensely and the lasagna. I wish I had not ordered the meatball after tasting their juicy steak but twas too late. At least, the gelato run later on made up for my awful experience.

It will be a very nice experience to have a dinner at Gustaosteria . I ordered a Spirito Burger and penna. The burger is extremely amazing, also the atmosphere is really nice. I will definitely go to Gustaostria again.

    Focaccia! Pesto is a must!

Finally decided to try this place today after passing by it so many times! You can either sit down or take-away from Gustapanino, but I decided to have my panini to-go. You have a choice of a focaccia or piadina type panini; I went for the focaccia style today. They have different types of bread & I went for the pesto; GO for the pesto! This place is the only one I know with that kind of bread offered for a sandwich. There's a menu where you can select what you want in your sandwich for between 3-4 euros (so worth it) and they toast it right in front of you. I got the sandwich with the spicy salami, eggplant, provolone cheese for 3 euro and it was SO yummy for the price and what you get. If you want any extra ingredients, they charge 1 euro for each one. I would definitely recommend coming here if you want a snack-like panini for cheap. I wouldn't come here everyday, but it's worth checking out.

Super nice staff greeted us when we walked in, and the interior looks small but inviting. We ended up ordering carryout (or, "takeaway," as they say here), and the food was a pleasant surprise. The Greek salad doesn't have lettuce, but the tomatoes, feta, capers, olives, onions, etc. are very fresh and delicious. The tsatsiki is creamy and tart, and is a a excellent complement to the Greek chicken souvlaki. And...the souvlaki is so flavorful and so fresh, that it was a unanimous hit. The front of the restaurant has a countertop and is brightly lit, but the main seating patio in the back is quiet, pleasantly dark, and small but roomy (there is plenty of space between the tables which we found was not often the case in crowded Florence). Everyone lines up outside, and once the doors open, the entire restaurant is seated at the same time. It's unusual, but somehow fun -- like the curtain lifting on dinner. We were greeted with a welcome drink, which set the tone perfectly before the main event: the famous cheese-wheel pasta. They prepared it right in front of me, swirling the hot pasta through a giant wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano until it turned silky and glossy. Then came the fresh truffle -- and I mean fresh. Easily the most fragrant, delicate truffle I've ever had in my life. Absolute heaven. For dessert, their tiramisu wasn't the classic layered version; it was more of a deconstructed, airy éclair-style creation that still delivered all the right flavors. We finished with limoncello, a bright little goodbye that wrapped the whole experience in a perfect bow. Yes, Osteria Pastella is a bit of a tourist vibe -- but the food does not miss. The quality, the flavors, and the whole tableside ritual made this one of our most memorable meals in Florence. I'd recommend it without hesitation.

The complimentary cheese bread ball and regular bread was super tasty. For mains, we got the truffle pasta (with the famous cheese wheel) which was fun to watch. The pasta itself was very solid, but not best ever. Also got the beef/boar pasta and it was better than the truffle pasta in my opinion and cheaper. The deconstructed tiramisu was yummy.
