We're in Florence for 5 day and like typical tourist yelp is my go to for everything. I found this restaurant on yelp called La Prscatoria so I took a screenshot because we already had reservations somewhere else for last night but this place had a 5-star rating so I wanted to go some other night at least before we left Florence. We were walking around all day and I suggested we walk to this restaurant just to see if it was within walking distance from our hotel so we can go for dinner. We get there only to find out that this restaurant no longer exists! It's been replaced with another restaurant called IL BACARO (FIRENZE). The manager(possibly the owner) showed us around. This place was totally renovated, 2 private dining rooms, spacious dining on the patio and even an outside dining area in front of the restaurant, gorgeous! He was super nice, friendly and very pleasant, he offered us a drink as we looked at the menu trying to make up our minds about dinner since we were expecting the other restaurant to be there. We talked about the menu and keeping everything gourmet and fresh. He introduced us to the Chef and that's when my husband told them I was also a Chef in America so we had high expectations for dinner and boy did they meet those expectations! We ordered the ravioli with rabbit ragout, and the creamy cod with fried polenta (appetizers). Entrees were roasted duck breast with mashed potatoes and cherry sauce, seared fish of the day with sautéed mixed vegetables and roasted potatoes. We also had the Parmesan spinach with garlic, the cannellini beans with olive oil and we even had dessert because they had one of my favorite dessert on the menu ( CRÈME BRÛLÉE WITH STAR ANISE). I know what you may think at this point, the star anise is probably going to overpower the dish but it was delicious! I will say that the custard could have been a bit more full bodied in consistency but the flavor was still there. Everything was delicious! It is so hard for me to eat out and not complain but tonight I had nothing to complain about except the bread but my husband was the one who said something about the bread. It tasted more like gluten free bread but I didn't mind the taste. For me this restaurant checked all the boxes; service, ambience, price and food were all on point! We even had wine with our dinner and we both normally don't drink wine an occasional mixed cocktail maybe. It was a pleasure dining at IL BACARO! So if you find yourself in Florence, looking for a great place to eat a delicious meal give this place a try you won't be disappointed!
