After having Italian food for almost 6 days straight, I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon this Persian restaurant. The atmosphere was quaint, the restaurant was beautifully decorated, and the food was good. Would I go as far to say that the food was phenomenal? No. It wasn't my Persian grandmother's food, but, it was good. So, if you are in the mood to switch up foods, give this place a shot. Do note that the restaurant is very small and reservations are needed.

During my visit to Mantignana, Italy, to see my brother's family, we all took a trip to Florence, Italy, to meet with some of my niece's friends and her parents. We decided to dine at Tehran Ristorante Persiano, which turned out to be an amazing and welcoming place. The restaurant is small but has such a wonderful atmosphere and aroma. It truly captures the feeling of being in a Tehran restaurant with all the decor and nostalgic images from the time when Iran was under the Shah's regime. We were warmly welcomed by Pezhman Tajik. We ordered a variety of traditional Persian dishes, including some delicious appetizers. In my opinion, this place deserves five stars, not only for the food but also for the outstanding service we received from everyone. I would like to thank Pezhman Tajik for his care and attention, ensuring that everyone had a memorable experience. At the end of our meal, Pezhman Tajik served us Persian tea in a traditional teapot, adding a perfect finishing touch to our wonderful dining experience. After two weeks in Italy, we were craving non Italian food and Tehran really hit the spot. We were lucky enough to come early and grab a table for two the day of, but would highly recommend getting a reservation as we say multiple groups get turned away later in the evening. The kebabs were delicious!

While on a road trip through Italy, we felt homesick and wanted to try something different from Italian food. We found Tehran Restaurant, a small, cozy restaurant that reminded us of old Tehran. The decor was beautiful, with many nostalgic touches. The food was absolutely amazing. We tried the sour kabab, lamb chops, zereshk polo, salad shirazi, koobideh, and dessert. Everything was delicious, with beautiful presentation and excellent quality. We loved how the restaurant took traditional Persian food and gave it a modern twist. The only downside is that the restaurant is very small and can be difficult to get a reservation. We were unable to get a last-minute reservation, but we were able to secure a table for our party of 4 two days in advance. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Tehran Restaurant. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the ambiance was perfect. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Persian meal in Florence. Ratings: Taste: 5/5 Quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Dessert: 5/5 Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes, I would highly recommend Tehran Restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Persian meal in Florence. The food is excellent, the service is great, and the ambiance is perfect.

As someone who lives in Los Angeles (otherwise known as "Tehranangeles") and whose family is from Iran, I confidently can say that Tehran Restaurant is THE best Persian restaurant I have ever been to. Aside from the food, I absolutely loved the inside decor. Paid homage to traditional Persian art and architecture, which was so refreshing to see.

30+years of Persian food, dozens of Mediterranean restaurants and this is toward the top of the list. Tehran Restaurant is tucked away on a quiet corner, a few mins walk from Piazza del Duomo. They had dishes I had never or rarely had, along with delicious kebab, particularly the Celo Torsh. I'm certain we will be back.

Excellent food, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Definitely one of the best dining experiences I've had recently." As a Persian , I was surprised. read more
Found the cutest Persian restaurant in Florence! This place gets packed easily so go close to open time or make reservations ahead of time. Plenty of seating for small groups but didn't see much for larger groups. They have menus in both English and Italian to help with ordering. The staff is friendly but it does get packed so expect a slow ish service. All the food we ordered was AMAZING! Super juicy, flavorful and authentic food. I would def come back when in Florence. read more

This place is so cute. Loved our food. It's a tight fit. Very authentic food and such a nice change from Italian. Felt so good to eat more meat since many Italian dishes lack meat. read more

Extremely tasty Persian food in a nice location in the middle of the Historic district. I was a little concerned because the chicken kabobs were thigh meat and not breast meat, like I'm used to getting, but it was outstanding, juicy and full of flavor. Definitely a great break from all the pizza and pasta we were eating. Really terrific little place. My husband got the Sultani and he said it was amazing. read more

The lack of communication and managerial etiquette is PISS-POOR! We had to walk to the back of the restaurant to see if there was any open seats available. They asked if we had any reservations and I replied no. The managers huddled around each other and looked at there list for a minute or two then looked at us and said no seating is available. They didn't even say thanks for coming, try coming back later, or to even wait outside for the next available table! read more

I stumbled across this spot accidentally. I got lucky to get a table without reservations because it was a table for one. The restaurant was packed so I recommend making reservations. They are also open for lunch. The decor is absolutely stunning. The attention to detail is quite apparent. I ordered the dough (yogurt drink), mast o musir (yogurt with shallots), zaytoon parvardeh (olives marinated in pomegranate paste) and chenjeh torsh (beef fillet with pomegranate paste). The food was plated elegantly and with much thought. All the dishes were tasty and on point. This is coming from a Persian who lives in California with many great Persian restaurants. The owner was even surprised I was eating Persian food in Florence when I'm coming from California. I explained that I've been in Florence for a month now and needed a break from pizza and pasta. If you're in Florence, I highly recommend Tehran. You won't be disappointed! read more

Please do yourself a favor and never come here. I agree with the previous yelper-this place has poor communication and AWFUL service!! During my three weeks in Florence I have NEVER encountered customer service this terrible. Me and my friends came in Friday, January 17th at around 9pm and the place was packed so they had no available tables for us. We were totally okay with that, and we spoke to an employee to book a reservation for Sunday, January 19th at 8:30pm for the 6 of us. They took our name down for the reservation and everything. We call back Sunday to confirm the reservation and they said it was not in their scheduling. And they messed with the wrong girl, because when stuff like this happens my Karen comes out full force. I'm not typically a rude person, but when you're inherently accusing me and my friends of being liars and not owning up to your employees mistake, that's when I get irritated. I kept telling them to keep checking, because there is no way we weren't on their list. I kept letting them know that they're getting a one star on yelp due to this terrible service and they were completely unbothered by it. They also asked if I was Persian, which what does that have to do with being a customer at your restaurant?? Am I not allowed to be serviced just because I am not Persian??? I did not understand why that was even a question, it had nothing to do with our reservation. After arguing over it for 15 minutes I eventually just gave up because clearly they don't care about their customers or having a loyal clientele, and I have so many friends that come here too that trust my taste in food. So sad that your employees make a mistake and you don't even bother making it up to the customer. Very embarrassing. read more

My mother and I visited Ristorante Persiano Tehran in Florence, and it was an exceptional experience. We had been craving authentic Persian cuisine, and this restaurant exceeded our expectations. The ambiance and décor were beautifully designed, evoking warm memories of Tehran and creating a truly authentic atmosphere. The staff were courteous, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. Most importantly, the food was outstanding--each dish was flavorful, well-prepared, and absolutely delicious.
