Everyone enjoyed their food and the "show" of using a wheel of cheese in preparation of the pasta was pretty cool. Presentation was excellent. The house wine was very good. My wife made this reservation a few days before we visited and it worked out. I see reviews where people booked months in advance.

Osteria Pastella serves delicious Italian dishes but in my opinion does not offer the most value in Florence. Restaurant is located about a 10 min walk from the Florence train station so convenient location. Guests are served a complimentary glass of prosecco which provides a nice touch. Today, we ordered the beef tartare, truffle pasta, grilled octopus, and chocolate mousse for dessert. The beef tartare is served with chickpea flatbread which is odd but nevertheless the dish is tasty when mixed with the home made mayonnaise. The star of the show is the truffle pasta which is served tableside and generous portion of truffle but for $28 euros, it's definitely on the expensive side. Likewise, the grilled octopus was very tender but the portion was small for the price. It also wasn't as chargrilled as I was hoping from other grilled octopuses I've had. The chocolate mousse dessert was good. The hazelnut crunch provided nice texture and the lemon marmalade balanced the richness of the chocolate well.

Came here between end of November and beginning of December of 2025. The ambiance was amazing. There were mix of locals and tourists. The place is big and was crowded. However, the noise level wasn't that high and we were able to have conversation. We ordered Tartare, proteins, and the noodles with the cheese roll and with truffles. The noodles were made in front of us as show and they tasted really good. The truffles weren't of great quality tho. Overall, we had an amazing time and enjoyed the food. They provided some extras like fried balls, and shot. Definitely recommend coming this place for dinner. It won't disappoint!

The cheese wheel pasta with truffles was absolutely amazing! Definitely worth standing in line for! The service was great and the waiters al spoke English very well! We also enjoyed their caprese salad to start and it was very well prepared with some fresh cherry tomatoes and sprinkles of salt. Be prepared for a relatively noisy interior since they do have a quite a few tables inside the restaurant.

Not dinging a star for it being immensely hot inside during our visit as they could not turn the AC on given there were blackouts and load shedding going on. We had a reservation booked for ourselves ( great idea given the reservation line itself was long while the other (walk-in) line definitely was longer. Coming to the food, starter was a fried leak and cheese croquette (on the house) followed by the flambéed pasta ( the staff prepares the truffle pasta right in front of the tables ( at a time for 3-4 tables together)) that turned out to be amazing ( I didn't eat it but wifey did and had heaps of praise for it). We shared a grilled lettuce salad that was tasty, delicious, amazing and everything synonymous to these words. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff and the overall experience turned out to be great but for the heat that was killing us. Not too pricey and definitely worth a visit or two.

Our favorite meal in Italy so far! The service was quick - with reservations. We were greeted with a "welcome drink" of champagne, bread and two fried balls (very good not sure what it was). We got the squid and bacon skewers as appetizer, it was SO GOOD. My husband got the cheese wheel truffle pasta, obviously delicious. My lasagna was great too. Finished the night with limoncello shots.

We sat outside and it was amazing. The steak was actually my favorite! We loved the cheese wheel pasta with the truffle as well! They gave us the wrong ravioli so we returned the one in the picture and scarfed down the one we wanted before I got a picture. Everything was spectacular. Make a reservation.

My only regret is not returning to this spot for another meal. Some restaurants that get hyped on social media is overrated, but this one lived up to all the hype. The pasta was cooked to a perfect al dente. The cheese wheel experience was fun, and the flavor was amazing! The duck tortelloni looked beautiful and tasted so good I regretted sharing it. And the lasagna was beautifully stacked with each layer bursting with fresh flavor. The welcome prosecco is a great touch. And all the servers worked together to make sure every table got the attention they needed.

A little show before the pasta descends into the creamy cheesy goodness.

This was my favorite meal in Florence. This place is not fancy, but the pasta is so fresh and delicious, you can even watch the person making it through the window. We sat outside on a hot day and ordered fresh pasta with truffles, duck carpaccio, a summer salad with zucchini flowers and burrata. The pasta was made in front of us in the gooey cheese round and the staff worked hard to make everyone feel welcome. The complementary glass of prosecco was a nice touch and my lemon spritz was the best I had in Italy. There's always a wait so try to go early!

Delicious! Amazing service and romantic ambience. They prepare the pasta in a cheese bowl table-side. So cool!

One bite and I think I died and gone to heaven for a brief moment. Ok so I admit I had done some extensive research on the best places for pasta before my trip to Florence. I arrive finally...Line out the door for miles when showed up. Good thing I made a reservation months in advance! Wow like wowwwza this truffle pasta did not disappoint folks let me tell you if your pasta is not mixed in a cheese wheel you're not doing it right.

Wheeled cheese pasta, their signature dishes are amazing. Though overall the portion is rather small across the board, the dishes are well prepared and delightful enough to satisfy your dinner. Our group of 6 enjoyed various dishes from steak to tagliatelle and of course the 2 of their signature wheeled cheese dishes, truffle and fish roe pasta

Where do I even begin with this review... This place is AMAZING!! Hubby and I had planned this months in advance and it did not disappoint! The cheese wheel pasta with truffle that everyone talks about... SO WORTH IT! We had that, the meat platter, roasted duck, and ribs. Everything was absolutely amazing, everything was well seasoned, excellent flavor. I have nothing bad to say about this place. Even their bread was really good. Our server was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed adn wanted. Ambiance was very lively because everyone (and I mean everyone) was ordering the cheese wheel pasta. So worth it if you're in Florence. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We had been there 40 minutes before flagging the waiter to order. The good news is once we order the food came out at a reasonable pace. Started with the warm octopus salad that was quite nice with nice chunks of tender octopus and warm potatoes. We also tried the Bistecca Florentine here. The nice thing is they have a smaller minimum serving size of only 700 g which is about 1 1/2 pounds. And it was really really good. It was cooked perfectly and well seasoned lots of nice salt and the taste was among the best states that I've had actually. And for the price of only €5.5 per 100 g it was actually very reasonable we paired with roasted potatoes and grilled vegetables, which were perfect compliments. The additional kicker was hooking on Tripadvisor a reservation. We got a 20% off our bill which made the meal even more affordable. It was our least expensive dinners and we loved it.

What a fun place to be! The food was absolutely amazing. When we saw them slicing the salami right in front of us, we decided to order the salami plate and we were so glad we did! The zucchini flower and saffron pasta was bursting with flavor and the pasta was so perfectly cooked. I couldn't get enough! The duck ragu pasta was also hearty, rich, and delicious. The sauce was so good, my family soaked up every last bit with our bread. The ricotta spinach ravioli was also amazing!! Again the sauce was such a standout. The ravioli was so fresh with the perfect amount of bite. The green pepper sauce steak was soooo good. Cooked perfectly, with such a unique sauce that the whole peppercorns added perfectly to in texture and spice. Finally, the raspberry tiramisu. We were so full, but when they set these down our dessert stomachs were ready. They were amazing! Not the strongest raspberry flavor, but still such a delicious end to the meal. Side note, you MUST have a reservation to eat here, and they only take reservations by call. Because I didn't have a way to call them, I asked my Airbnb hosts who did it for me (also amazing people). While we were eating, there was a crowd forming outside of people waiting to get in but unable to. It's so worth it to visit Vini e Vecchi Sappori! I'll definitely have to come back next time I'm in Florence.

We had our hotel call for us when we checked in and were lucky to grab a 1:30 lunch slot on a Thursday afternoon. We saw the fat physical reservation book when we went, and also saw an attempted walk-in get turned away. We wanted to go for dinner, but I'm just glad we were able to get in at all. Vini e Vecchi Sapori was easily my favorite restaurant in Florence. I loved the cozy, vibrant dining room, snug and eclectically decorated. We were at a table so tiny, I worried about pulling a muscle when I crossed my legs. It was nestled amongst other tiny tables, and abutted a counter where plates were put out for service and the reservation book set down in its glory next to my husband's head. Service was warm, efficient, and attentive. Our waiter basically told what to order and we obeyed him, with excellent results. The one-page handwritten menu, helpfully available in English, presented the day's offerings and this preemptive list of disclaimers: No Pizza No Cappuccino No The Fork No Ice No Spritz No Ketchup FUCK CANCER There was a brief selection of Italian wines by the glass, and we got the Chianti Classico and the Bruno de Montalcino, both lovely. The food was delicious, starting with good bread and good olive oil. We ordered the mixed Tuscany salami and the beef carpaccio as appetizers, and they were both superb and not in the least bit redundant. There were four or five types of salami, every one of them fantastic, and I loved the thin, silky carpaccio, served with rucola, parmesan, olive oil, and black pepper. We shared two splendid pastas, spinach ricotta ravioli in a creamy rose tomato sauce and a hearty pappardelle with duck ragu. For dessert, we had the lush, irresistible raspberries tiramisu. I plan to come back to Florence one day, and will make a point of coming back to Vini e Vecchi Sapori. It's a special restaurant, the kind you hope to find in Italy, a welcoming place with lively ambiance and wonderful food.

When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations.
