Greek salad and my honey.
Lisa M.

Excellent pizza and Greek salad. The pictures were what brought us in and the food is what makes me want to share since everyone seems to be watching for the best choice. While many places are wonderful, we liked everything about stopping here. I must comment on their bread and olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I loved it so much I ate more even after our pizza arrived. The local men who came in ordered meatballs and a plate of their fresh focaccia that looked amazing. Service was friendly.

We had the most incredible lunch. We got the tortellini with Bolognese, which was absolutely incredible. We also had prawns that were wrapped in bacon fat, and a Greek salad. Last night we got a margarita pizza with spicy salami, and it was also delicious. The cheesecake was phenomenal. Like melt in your mouth with a homemade crust. Give this place a try. It was incredible. It is also super cute inside and the service was good as well.

After running some errands, we were ravenous and needed a bite to eat, STAT. Passed by this restaurant and ducked inside. Greeted and seated immediately. Grabbed a bottle of Chianti & a cheese plate to start. The cheese plate? Phenomenal. It was the highlight of our meal. When I told staff that I loved the cheeses, they brought me a brochure from the farm. Awesome. Their pecorino cheeses are from a small artisan family-run cheese maker (Cugusi Silvana). Sooooo good. I also ordered one of my favorites, Napoli pizza. The capers & anchovies were excellent. Server recommended no cheese and I agreed (given how much cheese I had already eaten). I noticed there were quite a few Americans eating here (its located close to the Westin). But I have to admit, I'm partial to Naples pizza. Nevertheless, a very pleasant lunch.

Very close to Westin hotel this place has an excellent selection of wines. Of course, expect superb pasta dishes (they will improvise - their base menu has very few vegetarian options). One of the wait staff there is a darn good sommelier as well - use his service. He was 2 out of 3 with our group.

Very good restaurant right outside the crowded tourist area of Florence in a calm side street. The decor is modern and trendy, and the food delicious. We had a superb tartare steak and tagliata. Both were delicious. The place wasn't crowded and the service was good. The menu includes a good selection of pizzas too. We had a Chianti that was good.

The best pizza in ALL OF FLORENCE. It's absolutely amazing and so are the people as well. The restaurant is very modern and offers a great menu. My favorite restaurant

Another little surprise. Had a great meal outside on their patio. Great people watching and enjoyed a few hours having drinks and had several courses. I had the Greek salad and spicy salami pizza. Both tasty. Prices are very reasonable considering several restaurants in the area are really pricey. Much more casual and relaxing.

The owner and staff were fantastic, very knowledgeable and provided great recommendations. The wine bar itself is a small quaint little place. They do a fantastic job of pairing everything together to really bring so many flavors to your tastebuds. Their house wine is phenomenal and they take great pride in finding the grapes/different varietals to make it come to life. They have a both a red and a white house wine option. The second time we went - and yes, we went more than once in the four days we were there - we enjoyed one of the sandwiches and it was absolutely amazing. The bread, I can't even explain, the bread it's so flavorful and so good and so light. That paired with the delicious meats and cheeses were 100% worth it. I definitely recommend this location to anybody who is visiting Florence regularly or for their first time.

Ordered the eggplant appetizer (involtini di melanza) and it was okay. The tomato sauce was good but the spinach inside tasted like the wilted frozen stuff from the grocery store. We also ordered the Vegetariana and Diavola pizzas. The Vegetariana pizza was a bit dry (it doesn't have a sauce) and the vegetables over cooked and burned to some point. We didn't finish it. The Diavola is where things go from "meh" to awful. The crust wasn't fully cooked and fell apart in the center, but that could be overlooked. What cannot be overlooked is the spicy salami they used. My girlfriend got sick from eating a piece and said it tasted old. I tried a piece and my stomach immediately turned as the the taste of expired meat hit my tongue. I bit into another piece for good measure and the same case. I absolutely love pizza and I can honestly say this is the absolute worst pizza that I have ever had in my life. We ordered 2 pizzas and left more than 1 and 1/2 pizzas on the table. I hate wasting food and I have never left pizza behind to get thrown out. I'm beyond disappointed that a pizza restaurant in Italy could mess up pizza so badly. Also, a FYI they charge a "coperto" which is a 2€ cover charge to eat at the restaurant.

Happy to say this place is still just as amazing as I remember it almost 10 years ago!…read more A couple of girlfriends and I discovered Pensavo Peggio during our first trip to Italy in 2017, and it quickly became one of the reasons Florence became one of my favorite cities. Back then, I ordered the Osso Buco, Lasagna, and Tiramisu--and I still remembered how incredible everything was. So, of course, when I returned nearly 10 years later, I had to order the same meals... and yes, I said meals! Fabrizio, the same server who took care of me in 2017, asked, "Are you sure you want two dinners?" I told him, "Yes! I want to try them both." Fast-forward to 2026: I walked back in two days ago, reminded Fabrizio of our conversation, and told him I was ordering both again. He immediately started laughing. Some things never change! My boyfriend ordered the pappardelle and instantly fell in love with it. We also shared a delicious cheese and meat platter and, of course, finished with Tiramisu. Nearly 10 years later, Pensavo Peggio still holds a special place in my heart. Highly recommend this cute little spot! It just goes to show that sometimes the best memories--and the best meals--are found when you venture off the beaten path. Some places are simply worth coming back to.

It's close enough to the lively, bustling part of Firenze to feel connected, yet just far enough to escape the city's never-ending wave of tourists. The menu was solid, if a bit "generic" at times. While everything we ordered was delicious, nothing at Trattoria Giovanni felt like a dish you couldn't find elsewhere... and honestly, that's perfectly fine! It was traditional, comforting, and exactly what we were craving. The plate of cured meats and cheese was phenomenal, a great start to the meal. The pastas were really good as well, though one of the meat dishes had a slightly off texture, with the chunks of meat a bit overcooked.
