First Impressions - we did outdoor seating and it was a late dinner so not much available. Nothing about it stood out to me. The host was very nice and welcoming. It was outdoor seating so it seemed romantic. The Noms - Bruschetta: tomatoes were very fresh. I could taste the herbs. I ordered a second healthy because it was so good. Steak: hubby ordered the steak, it was hard as a rock Ravioli: overly sauced, yet still dry... how did that happen? I don't know. 1&1/2 Not sure why this tourist trap has such a high cumulative rating here but I felt inclined to drop this to provide a much needed corrective measure. As soon as I walked in and got a look at the cheesy Epcot-set level cliche decor I had a feeling we would be getting soulless inauthentic slop that is personification of the outdated concept of what legit Italian cuisine would be to a cruise ship denizen, which I suspect a number of the customers in the house in fact were. A corny gimmicky caesar salad w/huge sheets of sub-par parm draped obnoxiously over the wilted greens, a completely mediocre oversized and overpriced steak in the supposed Florentine style that seems to be not really a thing at all, and in the context of an extremely dubious "truffle sauce" raviolis that would be right at home at and z list Olive Garden clone, pasta that somehow was overcooked in this country where that would typically seem impossible to find anywhere even if you were trying. This made the important point to me at a crucially early time in our trip that you simply can not get away with an American style early dinner in this country. The best you are going to get eating out at that hour would be apertivo snacks, but hey that can be a wholly glorious experience in and of itself that should be wholly embraced. Anyplace serving a full meal between the hours of basically 3-7;30ish is strictly operating as a phony, garbage-quality cash-grab scam, that no Italian would be caught dead in, strictly serving slop to American tourists, and the most low brow amongst even that group. Kind, friendly service and delicious food. Bruschetta- The tomatoes were seasoned nicely. Caesar Salad- Typical taste. Ravioli di Pecorino con Burro- We were so surprised how delicious this was! Chocolate Cake- Warm, soft, melty, chocolatey lava cake. A perfect way to end the meal. We visited a second time, I tried the Panna Cotta, and was blown away. Good things: it's open and friendly service. Bad part, the crossaint has a weird fat that sticks to the top of your mouth and or makes your mouth feel coated. I won't order pastries from here again. I order a warm milk with chocolate and that was good. So I'll order drinks from here. read more

Cozy restaurant with a "welcome home" type feel very close to attractions. The service is attentive like you're visiting family. September 2024 I rarely write reviews but I felt this restaurant truly deserved one. The restaurant is the perfect spot for appetizers and wine, lunch, or dinner. We enjoyed it so much, we returned to it on a different day. One of the afternoons we were there, staff quickly put together a setup for about a group of ten so they could enjoy some wine. All of the staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have several food allergies and they were very professional We started with the bruschetta My husband and I enjoyed our main dishes so much, we had them on both occasions! My husband had the Ossobuco all fiorentina con fagipoli all'olio. I had the tortilla mugellani di palate con rage toscano. We also had a side of spinach salami and fagipoli cannellini all 'olio evo Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly, with amazing flavor. After a long trip to Cinque Terre, my family and I were tired and very very hungry. By chance, we stumbled upon Le Capelle Medicee after seeing that they served dry-aged Bistecca alla Fiorentina at extremely reasonable prices. They did not disappoint. The Caprese was served with burrata mozzarella and was light and refreshing. The produce was fresh. The bistecca was divine, seared perfectly and served with coarse salt. The sides were well done, traditional and flavorful. Finally the dessert. The tiramisu and the cheesecake are must-trys, and the panacotta was something new, but equally delicious. The service was amazing as well, with the owner spending a good amount of time at our table. 10/10 would recommend if in Florence. read more

We had found this place on Yelp/TripAdvisor and decided to check it out. We both were glad that we did! We arrived around 7:30pm and didn't have to wait at all. The owner greeted us and sat us right away. We ended up ordering a bottle of house red wine (€23), bottle of water (€2.50), Tagliatelle Ragu (€10), Tagliata Rucola e Grana (€20), & a side of potatoes (€5). The staff is incredibly friendly and informative. They go above and beyond to satisfy your every need and provide information so that you make a perfect choice for your meal. We had the pasta with the wild boar sauce incredibly satisfying. The ravioli and truffle sauce requires a cardiologist be at table side because it is so rich with butter and cream and truffle flavors. This is a fiesta for your tongue. The prices are embarrassingly reasonable for a meal of this quality. Wine list is exemplary. I am emphasizing again if you do not come here you are making a grave error. read more

First of all the owner was so nice when she sat us. The whole team was all smiles and so friendly. We truly felt welcome! They dropped off a glass of procesco rosé for both of us. It was delicious and so thoughtful! Every single thing we ate was delicious and well cooked and seasoned. The bread basket also had fried dough in it . The servers were too funny and so good at explaining the dishes, especially the Gnudi, which would be my reccomendation for the pasta especially if you love sage. My favorite waiter was joking and telling me that it was a very typical Tuscan dish, and saying they call them nuggets. My boyfriend ordered the wild boar pappardelle, which was very tender and so flavorful. The steak was cooked to perfection and the peppercorn added a nice zing. The bean soup was also delightful. The spinach was very well cooked with both garlic and red pepper. We loved the tiramisu and just the happy and welcoming atmosphere. We also saw Filmena welcome back old customers and adorably blush at a customer's compliment for thr wonderful meal and service. At the end of our meal when we were getting ready to roll out of the restaurant...the waiter sent over a dessert wine as a thank you for being nice. To start, I got into Florence very late and this was one of the only restaurants that serves food until midnight. The Best steak I've ever had, hands down. The service was very good and the house wine was on point. After reading all the 5 star reviews raving about this restaurant we decided to give it a try. I must say that the reviews are ABSOLUTELY all true down to the amazing cheesecake!!!! We were fortunate enough to have Aldo as our waiter. He was so nice and helped us pick a perfect wine to compliment our meal. My husband and daughter got the filet and you literally could hear the Chef in the back frying them up. I got the ravioli with spinach and it is ABSOLUTELY FRESH & HOMEMADE!!!!!! We each got a dessert and again made on the spot!!!!! My daughter ordered the Crème Brûlée which you could hear the torch turn on to crisp the top - absolutely made to order!!!!! I got the cheesecake YUMMMY and my husband got the Tiramisu. AGAIN absolutely homemade!!! This quaint little restaurant is so cozy and nice, but the food is epic!
