    Delicious (not pretentious) wine.

All things considered, food, wine, ambience, and service, this is one of the best restaurants in Italy. Yes. I did just say that. Having been here twice and looking forward to more, I don't understand why there isn't a line out the door or a two-month waitlist. Have you ever had carbonara served with an egg yolk inside a pecorino basked atop perfectly prepared al dente pasta peppered with truffle flakes to be mixed right in front of you by an expert? The aroma alone will have your mind blown. And how about if I told you that's $20!? Just go there. And be nice to Emi and Imran, because they are the sweetest people with whom you will ever share a shot of melonccello. If you are into amazing food, great people, and impeccable service, you found it. I wish I could come to Florence at least once a month to enjoy this place. The memories will have to do for now. Grazzie!!

The food here was delicious! I highly recommend the Truffle Pasta, a unique dish I've never had before. I'm a huge Carbonara fan and this was a level up! The Pear and Burrata with honey drizzle is a great start to the meal Emi our waitress was a sweetheart and gave us great tips on where to go and what to see while here in Florence. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

A very good dinner. Eat here. Wines. Duck tagliatelle . Delicious. Rich. Lemon chicken. Good, but boring. + Cloth napkins and tablecloths + Modern Salvinelli flatware + Great background music - Italian songs for old people + service + atmosphere €108 for dinner for 2

This restaurant was definitely worth going to, however it was a little bit on the overpriced side for what you get. Pasta with seabass and tomatoes was pretty good. Small portions. Family owned vibes, great atmosphere inside.

Love this place so much. My friend and I are currently abroad in Florence and decided to stop in. We enjoyed a glass of the house wine, which was very good, while waiting for four others to join us. They were extremely accommodating, especially as we had a larger group arriving at different times. Furthermore, their waitress, Emi, was amazing. She have us recommendations for places to visit in Florence, and overall was just extremely kind. We will probably be back every week. The food was great, and it's super cute. Also, it is family owned.

Service was amazing and friendly. We wandered down the road from our hotel and noticed this cozy and pretty restaurant. The gentleman at the door, Turi, welcomed us and seated us promptly. He was friendly and recommended items from the menu, knowing we were visiting and wanting to try something different. The food, EXCELLENT. The drinks, PERFECT. Turi and the rest of the staff were friendly and I could tell it is a great place to work, as everyone was cheerful and nice to each other. We ended our meal with Turi helping our friend call a taxi to pick her up and take her to her Air BnB about 9minutes away. Unreal service! Turi admitted that he is the owner and was so happy he met us and could serve us a wonderful Italian meal. The restaurant was busy, much busier than the surrounding ones, and I believe it was a testament to his amazing food, friendly and welcoming service and caring nature. Please support this restaurant and Turi, you will not regret it!

Osteria de Cicalini is now one of my favorite Florence restaurants. I somehow managed to foul up our dinner reservation, but our waiter Eli nonetheless sat us and provided friendly impeccable service, including a wine recommendation that was perfect. I had pasta with meat sauce, my wife had a fillet, both meals were amazing. Location and interior space, A+. Highly recommend this place.

After climbing the 450 steps at the Cathedral, my family and I were out of breath and starving. With a quick google search we found this spot nearby, and went with no high hopes for anything too special. We were just hungry. When we got inside, we were BLOWN away! It was a small space, but a beautiful interior and exterior. Our server (His name was Turi) was FANTASTIC, so kind and helpful. He even offered to run back and forth to plug in our phones to charge that have been dead all day. And the food- DELICIOUS!! Blown away by the plating and the flavor. We got the burratta with peach and honey to start- phenomenal. For our main courses, we ordered the ossobucco florentine, the truffle spaghetti and the grilled steak. Everything was absolutely delicious. The ossobucco was tender and so tasty, and pasta was like a perfect carbonara topped with fresh shaved truffles. And the best part is that everything was reasonably priced- a meal that would have cost us $$$$$ anywhere in the US. High quality environment, service, & food. I wish we could stay in Florence longer so we can come here again!! And limoncello afterwards- perfect!!!

Good food and attentive, friendly service. A good value just a block from the Duomo down a narrow, picturesque street.

We ordered the 2.6 lb dry aged Florentine steak and gnocchi. The Florentine steak is a must try steak here. It was very juicy, tender, and it was bursting with flavor. The meat was nice and chewy. The steak was gigantic and it is bigger than my head. They first bring out the raw steak and weight it in front of you. The steak is enough to share for three people. The gnocchi was also very delicious. It was cheesy and rich. It was also in a way creamy and the cheese just melted in your mouth. One of the best things I've ever put in my mouth and eaten. The cheesecake is very famous in this restaurant. We tried it and understand why. The cheesecake was super creamy and soft. I had a great time and experience here. Definitely will be back sometime soon hopefully. This is a place I highly recommend to everyone. Come and try it out for yourselves.

He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. He had his own GF bread basket and was able to order almost anything on the menu. We ordered a nice bottle of Montepulciano red for the table that was $48. Others had the Hugo spritz. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.

I went to the internet for the best Florentine steak and Trattoria Mario consistently popped up as highly rated. I reached out to the restaurant via email to make a reservation for a Friday. I wanted to get the earliest reservation possible, so the restaurant reserved me for 7:30pm, which was when they open. I was advised to show up on time - even a 2 minute delay would make me miss my reservation. I can see why Trattoria Mario was strict on reservations. They open on the dot, and then a staff member calls out each reservation at 7:30pm like a roll call. Seemed to me that if you don't have a reservation then you're out of luck, because there was no waitlist and the restaurant small and space was limited. Service was great. Our waitress was highly attentive and got us in/out of the restaurant quickly, which was what we were going for. Food came out in a timely manner. We ordered the penne al ragu, salad misto, and a Florentine steak to share. The penne was perfectly al dente, and I liked the meat sauce. I did find the pasta sauce salty, but it could've came from the grated parmesan. The saltiness was not a fluke. The Florentine steak was just pure beef and a ton of salt... too much salt for my liking. I also decided that I'm not a fan of Florentine steak in general.
