We had a great "last" dinner here. Walked in, without a reservation and waited 15 minutes. Restaurant is very cute, modern. We were seated at a communal table, with dry pasta displayed underneath. Nice surprise of complimentary white wine and a bread appetizer I ordered the cacio e Pepe without licorice?!? My husband had the filet. It was accompanied by spinach, and was cooked perfectly. Ended with the tiramisu (have had better).

This was recommended by a local and not touristy!! Insanely good pizza. The service was wonderful despite a slight language barrier. All of the Italians we encountered were so gracious and lovely people! I love how they encourage their guests to enjoy their visit and never feel rushed!! Slow the hurry!! I highly recommend this place!!

Interior right after dinner opening

What a great meal and terrific value. Bottle of wine & two dishes to share all for €55. My daughter loves this place for pizza so we came on our first evening in Firenze. Good service, terrific food. They are kind enough to offer a sample of sparking water when first seated and limoncello to finish the meal. Everything was wonderful and flavorful! The risotto came with a small scoop of ice cream which seemed unique to us. It totally worked though. The risotto was my favorite part of the meal! The interior offers a lovely setting in which to enjoy your meal, too. Definitely stop in and try for yourself!!

Margarita DOP and burrata pizza

The pizza was amazing here. We went here for our engagement dinner and they were very nice. The wine was fantastic as well.

When we travel, we like to try to find a spot to eat that's in the neighborhood we're staying. This is how we came upon Fuoco Matto. If you're looking for a little more modern take on typical Florence fair, then Fuoco Matto is a great option. To begin, I would definitely make a reservation a day or so in advance. We dropped in around 7:00pm (a little earlier than we normally would) without a reservation, and they squeezed us in with the caveat that we gave up our table around 8:30pm. They've got a unique menu allowing you to try anything from meats and cheeses to pasta to meat and seafood, all with a modern twist. They also have a nice wine list with, of course, local options.

Amazing food and service!!! Wonderful dinner, cocktail and wine options. Don't forget to check the dessert menu.

The best pizza I had in Florence! And affordable too. It was prepared quickly with fresh ingredients. The server was so nice! There is outdoor seating, it's quite lively in the area.

Caprese Pizza 5/5 Amazing!!

One of our favorite restaurants in Florence (besides Trattoria Nella). Pros: - Provide complimentary starter prosecco & appetizer, and glass of limoncello at the end of your meal - Excellent food - their Caprese pizza was my absolute favorite pizza during my entire Italy trip- their dough is memorable: both savory and smokey, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Ingredients were so fresh and flavorful. My husband also loved his Margherita pizza with sausage. The Florentine Steak was massive and delicious, altho it did a better char on the outside. For 2 people 1 kg more than enough and they can cut it down to your desired weight. We got 1.4 kgs and ate half of it for lunch the next day. - Elegant ambiance and on-point service Cons: - The side of beans that came with the Florentine Steak was bland and flavorless. Tip: Easy to get a table when they open (12:00 pm - 2:30 pm, 7:00 pm - 11:30 pm) but after ~8pm you should call to make a reservation, otherwise you can wait up to an hour for a table

Chicken liver pate - looks like sh*t, tastes amazing!

Fuoco Matto was our first dinner in Florence and it set the stage for a week of very tasty food! Atmosphere is definitely hipster versus "traditional trattoria" but I liked it. It was recommended by our AirBnb host and nearby to where we stayed. We were brought complimentary prosecco and a snack to start, and the prosecco was good enough we ordered a bottle to share (wine prices reasonable). For an app, we had crostini toscana aka chicken livers pate - I do love liver pate and really liked these. The pate may not look the nicest but the flavor was rich and delicious (and not overly liver-y if you're concerned about that kind of thing). For a main, the Mister had cacio pepe ravioli which had a bit of liquorice powder on it - an interesting take on something simple. I had a pizza with salsiccia, burrata and broccoli rabe and it was everything I wanted it to be. The crust was airy and chewy, the sausage was full of fennel and the broccoli gave a nice bitter kick. Prices are quite reasonable, and service was pleasant. If you're in the area (near Accademia or San Marco) it's a good stop.

The steak was presented to us prior to cooking, for our approval.

In the heart of Florence is a fabulous restaurant on a busy street. You'll think you want to sit outside, and that's fine if you don't mind the steady stream of traffic. Make a reservation. You really need it. Otherwise you'll sit outside. But maybe, just maybe they might be able to move you inside later, into the much calmer and quieter indoors. Make no mistake, it's bustling, hopping inside because it will be packed, every table full. As it should be, because this place is amazing. We got so lucky and were able to move inside. The Tuscan steak was our main course m, for three people. And it was the best one we had in Florence. Quite literally the best. Melted in our mouths. So full of flavor. Yes, we splurged for the highest quality steak they offer there, (there are four choices) and it was worth every euro. The staff was so so so nice. Attentive, quick, friendly, and they all seemed to enjoy what they were doing.

We arrived at 7:30 with no reservation and sat outside immediately, but any later would need a reservation, even for 2. The food was phenomenal, I got the maccheroni with the spicy sauce and the best tiramisu I've had in Italy.

Randomly came across this spot and 100% was my favorite spot we ate at in Florence, including the ones we researched and had a reservation at. The ravioli with the bacon and mushrooms (I can't rmbr what it's called) was to DIE for-- melts in your mouth! Margherita pizza was amazing and felt good after. Tiramisu was THE BEST WEVE EVER HAD. Feeling dramatic but of all the places from Florence, Positano, and Rome, this was my favorite restaurant so I had to come back and leave a review. Staff is so friendly too!!

From the outside, it looks like a grand, iron-and-glass structure typical of European markets; inside, it opens into a bustling, multi-level space filled with food vendors, communal tables, and constant movement. The vibe is energetic, social, and slightly chaotic in a fun way - perfect for grazing, group dining, or trying multiple cuisines in one visit (from Italian to American to Mexican!). We stopped in for a quick lunch at around 2pm on a Wednesday; there was plenty of seating at high-top tables, and QR codes on paper menus make it easy to explore all the different food vendor options. It's also a fun activity to peruse the market, taking in different sights, smells, and flavors. All of us ended up opting for Schiacciatas (large Italian sandwiches that are a staple in Florence) from Massimiliano Parri, which all ended up ranging from €10-12, depending on toppings - yes, it's more expensive than what you'd get from a traditional schiacciateria, but you're also paying for the market's location and convenience. We appreciated the fact that they shave the meat right in front of you! My schiacciata came with freshly shaved ham atop crusty white bread, slathered with burrata cheese, and sprinkled with arugula and figs (I opted for no additional olive oil, since I found the ham quite rich already). I loved the contrast of textures and flavors, though I will say that the bread ended up cutting the roof of my mouth! All in all, Mercato Centrale is a bit touristy, but still miles better (and cheaper) than most "Italian" sandwich places you'd find in the US (pro tip: save your receipt for free use of their bathrooms). The variety can't be beaten, prices are reasonable for a central market, and it's steps from some of Florence's most iconic spots.
