We had a great "last" dinner here. Walked in, without a reservation and waited 15 minutes. Restaurant is very cute, modern. We were seated at a communal table, with dry pasta displayed underneath. Nice surprise of complimentary white wine and a bread appetizer I ordered the cacio e Pepe without licorice?!? My husband had the filet. It was accompanied by spinach, and was cooked perfectly. Ended with the tiramisu (have had better).

    Margarita DOP and burrata pizza

The pizza was amazing here. We went here for our engagement dinner and they were very nice. The wine was fantastic as well.

This was recommended by a local and not touristy!! Insanely good pizza. The service was wonderful despite a slight language barrier. All of the Italians we encountered were so gracious and lovely people! I love how they encourage their guests to enjoy their visit and never feel rushed!! Slow the hurry!! I highly recommend this place!!

What a great meal and terrific value. Bottle of wine & two dishes to share all for €55. My daughter loves this place for pizza so we came on our first evening in Firenze. Good service, terrific food. They are kind enough to offer a sample of sparking water when first seated and limoncello to finish the meal. Everything was wonderful and flavorful! The risotto came with a small scoop of ice cream which seemed unique to us. It totally worked though. The risotto was my favorite part of the meal! The interior offers a lovely setting in which to enjoy your meal, too. Definitely stop in and try for yourself!!

When we travel, we like to try to find a spot to eat that's in the neighborhood we're staying. This is how we came upon Fuoco Matto. If you're looking for a little more modern take on typical Florence fair, then Fuoco Matto is a great option. To begin, I would definitely make a reservation a day or so in advance. We dropped in around 7:00pm (a little earlier than we normally would) without a reservation, and they squeezed us in with the caveat that we gave up our table around 8:30pm. They've got a unique menu allowing you to try anything from meats and cheeses to pasta to meat and seafood, all with a modern twist. They also have a nice wine list with, of course, local options.

Amazing food and service!!! Wonderful dinner, cocktail and wine options. Don't forget to check the dessert menu.

The best pizza I had in Florence! And affordable too. It was prepared quickly with fresh ingredients. The server was so nice! There is outdoor seating, it's quite lively in the area.

    Caprese Pizza 5/5 Amazing!!

One of our favorite restaurants in Florence (besides Trattoria Nella). Pros: - Provide complimentary starter prosecco & appetizer, and glass of limoncello at the end of your meal - Excellent food - their Caprese pizza was my absolute favorite pizza during my entire Italy trip- their dough is memorable: both savory and smokey, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Ingredients were so fresh and flavorful. My husband also loved his Margherita pizza with sausage. The Florentine Steak was massive and delicious, altho it did a better char on the outside. For 2 people 1 kg more than enough and they can cut it down to your desired weight. We got 1.4 kgs and ate half of it for lunch the next day. - Elegant ambiance and on-point service Cons: - The side of beans that came with the Florentine Steak was bland and flavorless. Tip: Easy to get a table when they open (12:00 pm - 2:30 pm, 7:00 pm - 11:30 pm) but after ~8pm you should call to make a reservation, otherwise you can wait up to an hour for a table

Chicken liver pate - looks like sh*t, tastes amazing!

Fuoco Matto was our first dinner in Florence and it set the stage for a week of very tasty food! Atmosphere is definitely hipster versus "traditional trattoria" but I liked it. It was recommended by our AirBnb host and nearby to where we stayed. We were brought complimentary prosecco and a snack to start, and the prosecco was good enough we ordered a bottle to share (wine prices reasonable). For an app, we had crostini toscana aka chicken livers pate - I do love liver pate and really liked these. The pate may not look the nicest but the flavor was rich and delicious (and not overly liver-y if you're concerned about that kind of thing). For a main, the Mister had cacio pepe ravioli which had a bit of liquorice powder on it - an interesting take on something simple. I had a pizza with salsiccia, burrata and broccoli rabe and it was everything I wanted it to be. The crust was airy and chewy, the sausage was full of fennel and the broccoli gave a nice bitter kick. Prices are quite reasonable, and service was pleasant. If you're in the area (near Accademia or San Marco) it's a good stop.

The steak was presented to us prior to cooking, for our approval.

In the heart of Florence is a fabulous restaurant on a busy street. You'll think you want to sit outside, and that's fine if you don't mind the steady stream of traffic. Make a reservation. You really need it. Otherwise you'll sit outside. But maybe, just maybe they might be able to move you inside later, into the much calmer and quieter indoors. Make no mistake, it's bustling, hopping inside because it will be packed, every table full. As it should be, because this place is amazing. We got so lucky and were able to move inside. The Tuscan steak was our main course m, for three people. And it was the best one we had in Florence. Quite literally the best. Melted in our mouths. So full of flavor. Yes, we splurged for the highest quality steak they offer there, (there are four choices) and it was worth every euro. The staff was so so so nice. Attentive, quick, friendly, and they all seemed to enjoy what they were doing.

We arrived at 7:30 with no reservation and sat outside immediately, but any later would need a reservation, even for 2. The food was phenomenal, I got the maccheroni with the spicy sauce and the best tiramisu I've had in Italy.

Randomly came across this spot and 100% was my favorite spot we ate at in Florence, including the ones we researched and had a reservation at. The ravioli with the bacon and mushrooms (I can't rmbr what it's called) was to DIE for-- melts in your mouth! Margherita pizza was amazing and felt good after. Tiramisu was THE BEST WEVE EVER HAD. Feeling dramatic but of all the places from Florence, Positano, and Rome, this was my favorite restaurant so I had to come back and leave a review. Staff is so friendly too!!

The steak came out with great presentation. Sizzling on a hot plat. Giant piece of meat. We easily finish all the meat, so it was good. The steak tasted normal though - not as beefy as dry aged beef, or not as flavorful at some other places i have tried (Porteno in Sydney), Just regular red meat taste. A little not salty enough. For sure not the best steak i have ever eaten. Probably due to the simple way how Florentine steaks are cooked. The tiramisu was also mid. Servers were somehow all non-Italian (Indians), so that gave me a touristy vibe. But whatever lol. Anyways, it was still a good dinner date overall, so just want to leave it at a positive note.

Since we knew we couldn't finish the gigantic Florentine steak, we opted for the rib eye steak. I was particularly impressed with the steak. It was surprisingly tough considering it was rib eye. Did not notice much marbling on the rib eye either. On the other hand, I did enjoy the Beef Ragu as it provided tender chunks of beef in a tomato and carrot based ragu sauce. Very tasty and the pasta was tender and good bite to it. The service was subpar and uneven for us. Nobody even acknowledged us for 10 min after we sat and I had to flag someone to help us. The waiter seemed disinterested and just asked whether we are ready to order. Seems like they didn't know who was supposed to serve my table. Oh well. Guess I won't be coming back give all the restaurant options in Florence.

He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. He had his own GF bread basket and was able to order almost anything on the menu. We ordered a nice bottle of Montepulciano red for the table that was $48. Others had the Hugo spritz. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.

We were browsing the menu outside when the owner was nice enough to invite us in. We ordered wine and got complementary appetizers which consisted of some meat and bread with olive oil and balsamic. We browsed the menu and couldn't decide on what to get because unlike other steak houses this one had many many other cuts to choose from but we settled on the infamous BISTECCA ALLA FIORENTINA. After we ordered it took about Roughly 15-20 minutes before our perfect piece of meat came out. The meat was tender and juicy and so perfectly seasoned. Every single piece of meat was meat in your mouth worthy. Even though the piece we got was huge it was sooo good my sister and I finished it no problem. We were even tempted to take the bone home and chew on it but that wouldn't be lady like... Service was good. We were let down by our first attempt in Florence when the meat was tough and mostly flavorless. After much research, he decided we were going to The Cut. We luckily scored reservations via thefork, one day in advance. We started off being served complimentary prosecco and a grilled mortadella amuse buche. We ordered the carpaccio chianina, grilled ember vegetables, and their daily special, an Argentinian beef (10 year old dairy cow that had been aged 60+ days). We asked if we should order any toppings or sauces, and the answer was no - neither was needed (as the flavor of the steak should stand out on its own). I appreciate that. Unfortunately, they ran out of the carpaccio chianina, so the owner comped us a chianina tartar so we could try the infamous chianina. Very tender yet robust flavor, especially with the salt. The steak (medium rare), cooked perfectly and very tender, but I can't say it was amaze-balls. Also, both this and the chianina only came in rib eye (not full T-bone), but that meant we could order 1 kg instead of the 1.2 kg minimum. That was good since between the two of us, we could not even polish off the 1 kg. The grilled ember vegetables were delicious! Too bad there just weren't that many of them. The owner apologized and told us they were on the house, since his shipment did not come in due to the holiday on Monday. We are from out of town, so honestly we wouldn't have know the difference if that was a normal or sparse portion. That was nice of him. Service was A+. Attentive, knowledgeable and so hospitable. Reservations are a must! This is a small restaurant and many parties were turned away during the duration of our meal there only.

We decided to forego the set menu and only order the steak because we heard the portions are massive and they are. They present to you with 2 steak options: the T bone at about 1.5kg and the Tomahawk at 1.2kg. Since we had the T bone at another restaurant already, so went with the Tomahawk and had it cook rare as recommended. When the steak came they carved the meat table side, but unfortunately the cast iron plate the steak was on wasn't hot at all, and since we got a rare steak, the meat turned code very quickly. The meat of the steak was good, better than the previous steakhouse we went to, but there were tendons which got stuck in my teeth. However, the washroom did not have floss at all and I was taken back by the random graffiti on the bathroom wall while this was supposed to be a fancy steakhouse. All in all, I think this is more of a tourist destination as all the other tables spoke English. Local Italian people don't eat here, and you're better off going to another place that's less pricey.
