Hostess was nice and got us seated right away for our early dinner (5:30). We ordered a couple drinks as well as the aforementioned steak, rare... along with French fries and salad. They brought out some focaccia bread to start and that was good with the balsamic vinegar and oil. Moving on to the food... unfortunately this was probably my LEAST favorite experience in all of Italy and all of my Europe trip (Munich and Zurich included). Steak was brought out and it looked good initially but was not rare...more like a medium rare on a hot plate... so it kept cooking. My first bite or two was ok, then it just got to the point where it wasn't even enjoyable or palatable to eat. The fries and salad were also so mediocre. I didn't complain about the steak temperature... maybe I should have. I figured a steak place that boasts how good their steaks are would know how to serve a rare steak. So disappointed. The steak was gigantic and it is bigger than my head. They first bring out the raw steak and weight it in front of you. The steak is enough to share for three people. The gnocchi was also very delicious. It was cheesy and rich. It was also in a way creamy and the cheese just melted in your mouth. One of the best things I've ever put in my mouth and eaten. The cheesecake is very famous in this restaurant. We tried it and understand why. The cheesecake was super creamy and soft. I had a great time and experience here. We decided to forego the set menu and only order the steak because we heard the portions are massive and they are. They present to you with 2 steak options: the T bone at about 1.5kg and the Tomahawk at 1.2kg. Since we had the T bone at another restaurant already, so went with the Tomahawk and had it cook rare as recommended. When the steak came they carved the meat table side, but unfortunately the cast iron plate the steak was on wasn't hot at all, and since we got a rare steak, the meat turned code very quickly. The meat of the steak was good, better than the previous steakhouse we went to, but there were tendons which got stuck in my teeth. However, the washroom did not have floss at all and I was taken back by the random graffiti on the bathroom wall while this was supposed to be a fancy steakhouse. All in all, I think this is more of a tourist destination as all the other tables spoke English. Local Italian people don't eat here, and you're better off going to another place that's less pricey.
