Steak

The interior of this restaurant is impeccable. I love what they've done with the furniture and the different sections of the seating areas. I had the soup to start and it was fine and filling. The meatballs were my favorite part of the meal. We tried bread with different spreads. It was one of the most interesting things I ate in Italy. One of the toppings was lard with honey. My main dish was stew. It was kind of salty for my taste, but otherwise good. We got a pasta to accompany the meal and it was my second favorite part of the meal. They had Florentine steak on the menu and we got one of those too. It was good! We ordered too much food and that may have been a mistake. Fortunately, even though it's not really a thing, they helped me pack up the leftovers to take to go.

AMAZING gnocchi with truffles

My boyfriend and I were traveling to Florence for the day and wanted to make a reservation close to the train for dinner. We booked here based on great reviews and reservation availability. We're so glad we did! We'll be talking about this for years and referring our friends here. We may have over ordered a tad, but that's because this was one of our last meals in Italy. When we arrived at 6pm, it was not crowded but they had a very nice 2-seat table with a "reserved" sign up front ready for us. They brought us Proseco and a bag of crostini on the house! We then thoroughly enjoyed the additional seasoned bread for the table. We kept reminding each other we shouldn't eat every last bit (we wanted to) because we ordered so much food. We started with a liter of the house red - the Sangiovese blend. Very nice! Smooth. We shared the bruschetta (a sampler: traditional with tomatoes, one with just olive oil and one with pesto). We had 2 pasta dishes and a steak between us! The gnocchi with truffles was unbelievable! The dumplings were so soft and delicate and melted in our mouths. The truffle was subtle and cheese was divine. We also got the tortiloni with Spinach - very soft and good. Then the steak!!! It had raisins for a really complex and delightful flavor, and topped with a fatty piece of beef that also had lots of flavor. The steak itself was incredibly tender. Also melted in our mouths. We used the remaining bread to soak up every last bit of each sauce. We added tiramisu and an espresso too. The tiramisu was light and delicious. We were so pleased with the service, cost and most of all, taste!! We can't stop talking about it. Wonderful meal!

My god. At first we had to wait a long time for service then the food was a bit slow coming. I was ready to leave! I am SO glad I stayed. This is without a doubt the best food I have ever eaten in my life and I am SO picky!!!!! We have decided if the management wants to beat us, as long as we can eat their food, we would take the beating! Lol!!! My god anything is good but special shoutout to the squash blossoms appetizer, the carbonara, the tutti gnodi (ricotta spinach stuffed) and the decadent panna cotta. We plan on eating here the rest of our stay. Period!!!!!!!! Night two we are back again for great food. Unfortunately we are given the same waiter that took over a half hour to take our order last night. And then served people that came 10 minutes after us their food first while we still waited. Tonight was far far worse. We have been waiting for about 15 minutes when another ladies group sat beside us. He came out he looked at us and decided to go to the other table take their complete order go back inside give it to the shop come back out again bring them drinks and still would not take our order. Finally they sent out another great woman just like last night who then served us perfectly this gentleman should not be serving anyone!!!! And one other thing as soon as the women start serving us they are polite they are happy they are kind they speak English and it is a pleasure to be served by them!

This restaurant has a very friendly staff and a lovely garden area to sit outside. The space was recently remodeled to make room for more seating. The ambiance is that of a modern farmhouse with modern lighting. Although the place boasts about meat, there are vegetarian options. The pizza smells amazing in the wood fired oven.

The food here is delicious ... very peaceful place ... Ana ( the server ) it's amazing ... and the rest of the team are very efficient and FRIENDLY !!! We love it !!!

WOULD RECOMMEND Food, Service, and Atmosphere this place has all three. We found it just by walking around but found a huge comfortable dinning room with a garden inside. Food: The food was amazing, probably the best meal we've had in Florence yet. I actually had to close my eyes on the first bite it was that good. Service: Was great. The owner/manager is funny and friendly and the waiters were quick and attentive. Atmosphere: The huge dining room was spacious and a nice break from the traditionally small restaurants you find around Europe. They also have an outdoor garden inside which is also nice. Overall this place is great. Bring a big group, your kids, or have a small private dinner. The food was great, prices were great, service was great. WOULD RECOMMEND

Sooo saaad. Went again with high hopes bc previous experience was perfetto. I ordered a hamburger. The bread was from the shop and the beef was left raw (without asking my preference). Beef was so slightly cooked that even the cheese did not melt on it. And potatoes were soggy. Yet hamburger was 16€ for what I waited a much better experience. Why, I can only cry, why?

Amazing food and atmosphere! Bruschetta was the best in the city!! Waitress was relatively standoffish towards Americans but everyone else was very welcoming and nice. Roasted potatoes were perfectly seasoned and the ribs just fell apart in your mouth!

We ordered the 2.6 lb dry aged Florentine steak and gnocchi. The Florentine steak is a must try steak here. It was very juicy, tender, and it was bursting with flavor. The meat was nice and chewy. The steak was gigantic and it is bigger than my head. They first bring out the raw steak and weight it in front of you. The steak is enough to share for three people. The gnocchi was also very delicious. It was cheesy and rich. It was also in a way creamy and the cheese just melted in your mouth. One of the best things I've ever put in my mouth and eaten. The cheesecake is very famous in this restaurant. We tried it and understand why. The cheesecake was super creamy and soft. I had a great time and experience here. Definitely will be back sometime soon hopefully. This is a place I highly recommend to everyone. Come and try it out for yourselves.

He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. He had his own GF bread basket and was able to order almost anything on the menu. We ordered a nice bottle of Montepulciano red for the table that was $48. Others had the Hugo spritz. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.

Let me start off by saying WOW one of the best steaks I've ever had and that's say a whole lot…read more Very small yet open and inviting restaurant. We were browsing the menu outside when the owner was nice enough to invite us in. We ordered wine and got complementary appetizers which consisted of some meat and bread with olive oil and balsamic. We browsed the menu and couldn't decide on what to get because unlike other steak houses this one had many many other cuts to choose from but we settled on the infamous BISTECCA ALLA FIORENTINA. After we ordered it took about Roughly 15-20 minutes before our perfect piece of meat came out. The meat was tender and juicy and so perfectly seasoned. Every single piece of meat was meat in your mouth worthy. Even though the piece we got was huge it was sooo good my sister and I finished it no problem. We were even tempted to take the bone home and chew on it but that wouldn't be lady like... Service was good. Wasn't very many people dining when we were there but regardless they were very attentive and I would definitely be back.

We were let down by our first attempt in Florence when the meat was tough and mostly flavorless. After much research, he decided we were going to The Cut. We luckily scored reservations via thefork, one day in advance. We started off being served complimentary prosecco and a grilled mortadella amuse buche. We ordered the carpaccio chianina, grilled ember vegetables, and their daily special, an Argentinian beef (10 year old dairy cow that had been aged 60+ days). We asked if we should order any toppings or sauces, and the answer was no - neither was needed (as the flavor of the steak should stand out on its own). I appreciate that. Unfortunately, they ran out of the carpaccio chianina, so the owner comped us a chianina tartar so we could try the infamous chianina. Very tender yet robust flavor, especially with the salt. The steak (medium rare), cooked perfectly and very tender, but I can't say it was amaze-balls. Also, both this and the chianina only came in rib eye (not full T-bone), but that meant we could order 1 kg instead of the 1.2 kg minimum. That was good since between the two of us, we could not even polish off the 1 kg. The grilled ember vegetables were delicious! Too bad there just weren't that many of them. The owner apologized and told us they were on the house, since his shipment did not come in due to the holiday on Monday. We are from out of town, so honestly we wouldn't have know the difference if that was a normal or sparse portion. That was nice of him. Service was A+. Attentive, knowledgeable and so hospitable. Reservations are a must! This is a small restaurant and many parties were turned away during the duration of our meal there only.

The service was top notch from the time we walked in the door. We were offered a couple seating options and picked the more secluded, romantic feeling spot. We knew we were having the Bistecca so there wasn't alot of discussion needed, however, I wasn't familiar with the white wines local to Italy (being a Resiling or Chenin Blanc drinker). The wait staff was very informative and helpful and recommended a Vermintino which was lovely. Service begins with an amazing assortment of sliced meats, cheeses and brushetta. Then comes the presentation of the steak, beautifully prepared, arrives at the table uncut and the server begins the process of cutting, salting and presenting the entree. Along side the sides you've previously selected. The meat is the most tender, melt in your mouth meat I've ever had. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Dessert was also included as part of our selection and the cheesecake is very delish. Highly recommend.

We already tried Florentine steak at another well rated restaurant before coming here so we had a good idea of what to expect from the steak. We decided to forego the set menu and only order the steak because we heard the portions are massive and they are. They present to you with 2 steak options: the T bone at about 1.5kg and the Tomahawk at 1.2kg. Since we had the T bone at another restaurant already, so went with the Tomahawk and had it cook rare as recommended. When the steak came they carved the meat table side, but unfortunately the cast iron plate the steak was on wasn't hot at all, and since we got a rare steak, the meat turned code very quickly. The meat of the steak was good, better than the previous steakhouse we went to, but there were tendons which got stuck in my teeth. However, the washroom did not have floss at all and I was taken back by the random graffiti on the bathroom wall while this was supposed to be a fancy steakhouse. All in all, I think this is more of a tourist destination as all the other tables spoke English. Local Italian people don't eat here, and you're better off going to another place that's less pricey.
