Was looking for a change-of-pace from consecutive days of Italian cuisine. Had a sneaking…read moresuspicion that Greek food might be better in Italy than it is in the States, and I was spot on. Super nice staff greeted us when we walked in, and the interior looks small but inviting. We ended up ordering carryout (or, "takeaway," as they say here), and the food was a pleasant surprise. The Greek salad doesn't have lettuce, but the tomatoes, feta, capers, olives, onions, etc. are very fresh and delicious. The tsatsiki is creamy and tart, and is a a excellent complement to the Greek chicken souvlaki. And...the souvlaki is so flavorful and so fresh, that it was a unanimous hit. If you are in the mood for something other than pasta, give this place a try!

The eggplant dish was the best I've ever had in my life - and I'm 54. The service was excellent and our friendly, helpful waitress was fluent in English and generous in answering our questions. The front of the restaurant has a countertop and is brightly lit, but the main seating patio in the back is quiet, pleasantly dark, and small but roomy (there is plenty of space between the tables which we found was not often the case in crowded Florence). I highly recommend this hidden gem!

When I heard a new greek place was opened, I really got excited. I mean one can never have enough…read moreethnic food if you ask me! The place itself, located near piazza san marco has all the ingredients for greatness too. A nice ambiance, local products that they sell there and even a little courtyard, that looks a little like someone's backyard (because I think it is). I went with a few friends and we started with a cheese platter which was good I will say, in fact, I would wager it would be worth coming back just for that and some pita bread with wine for a nice aperitivo. But lunch was just 'eh.' While I like when people sell themselves as local home cooking (and here had a Crete edge), they have to be good at exactly that, the menu options were ok but nothing to really get excited about. My moussaka was nice enough, I enjoyed it. My husband's platter of octopus was really a downer. The octopus was really chewy, it felt overcooked and the sauce was nothing special. In fact he didn't end up finishing the dish because straight up, it wasn't appetizing. We love 'polpo' but it is of the finicky sort. The wine was ok, they don't have a list yet (or at least when I went) so you'll need to ask the options and the price. The place has potential but I just was really turned off by that octopus, if you're looking for greek, there is also a great place on via cavour as recommended by my friend Coral or Curious Appetite, but you can always try this place and decide for yourself.

Seriously, it was some of the best Greek food that I have ever tasted! Their specialty is food from Crete and some of the dishes that Chef Markus prepares are have very unique and delightful flavor profiles. If you are on the fence...just try it, I am very sure that you will be back for more like I was. I just wish that it was in Los Angeles!!
