Super nice staff greeted us when we walked in, and the interior looks small but inviting. We ended up ordering carryout (or, "takeaway," as they say here), and the food was a pleasant surprise. The Greek salad doesn't have lettuce, but the tomatoes, feta, capers, olives, onions, etc. are very fresh and delicious. The tsatsiki is creamy and tart, and is a a excellent complement to the Greek chicken souvlaki. And...the souvlaki is so flavorful and so fresh, that it was a unanimous hit. If you are in the mood for something other than pasta, give this place a try!

The eggplant dish was the best I've ever had in my life - and I'm 54. The service was excellent and our friendly, helpful waitress was fluent in English and generous in answering our questions. The front of the restaurant has a countertop and is brightly lit, but the main seating patio in the back is quiet, pleasantly dark, and small but roomy (there is plenty of space between the tables which we found was not often the case in crowded Florence). I highly recommend this hidden gem!

Every bite of food here was absolutely on point, and the service was rustic but super friendly nonetheless. The must-get appetizer is the Salsa Miste, which came with a dollop of each of their five dips: tzatziki (a creamy yogurt and cucumber dip), melinzanosalata (an eggplant puree), skordalia (a garlicky potato puree), and my two favorites, the taramosalata (fish roe and bread crumbs), and the spicy kafteri (ricotta, feta, and peppers). Each of these dips was completely distinct in flavor, and each of them went perfectly with the triangles of chewy, grilled pita bread that came on the side! For our mains, the Tris Special came with three different meats: gyros (which were carved from a rotating spit and had lots of crispy edges), souvlaki (a pork skewer), and my favorite, the bifteki (a juicy grilled ground beef patty). The plate also came with a dollop of tzatziki and a refreshing Greek salad made of cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, green bell peppers, red onions, and feta cheese. But my favorite entree was the Ceci e Polipo, a super satisfying stew of tender pieces of octopus along with chickpeas cooked in a broth of tomatoes, onions, carrots, and herbs. On top of the great flavors, all the dishes here came at an unbelievable value, and the portion sizes were extremely generous too! What an incredible Greek restaurant!

Just to give you all some insight, we have a bigger lunch now and a lighter dinner, with this in mind you will understand that we order two starters and then dessert. Our first starter was the eggplant meatballs in sauce. It was 4 meatballs made of eggplant and were they delicious!!! Crispy on the outside and nice layers of eggplant in side. The other starter was prosciutto and buratta, we added a little olive oil to the buratta and was just a wonderful dish to go along with our eggplant. Our desserts were a lava cake that my wife said reminded her of a very good chocolate soufflé, while I had fresh strawberries and gelato. The service was spot on, and what was also nice about this restaurant is they had a number of bottles of wine in 1/2 bottles. We will be back...

The place itself, located near piazza san marco has all the ingredients for greatness too. A nice ambiance, local products that they sell there and even a little courtyard, that looks a little like someone's backyard (because I think it is). I went with a few friends and we started with a cheese platter which was good I will say, in fact, I would wager it would be worth coming back just for that and some pita bread with wine for a nice aperitivo. But lunch was just 'eh.' While I like when people sell themselves as local home cooking (and here had a Crete edge), they have to be good at exactly that, the menu options were ok but nothing to really get excited about. My moussaka was nice enough, I enjoyed it. My husband's platter of octopus was really a downer. The octopus was really chewy, it felt overcooked and the sauce was nothing special. In fact he didn't end up finishing the dish because straight up, it wasn't appetizing. We love 'polpo' but it is of the finicky sort. The wine was ok, they don't have a list yet (or at least when I went) so you'll need to ask the options and the price. The place has potential but I just was really turned off by that octopus, if you're looking for greek, there is also a great place on via cavour as recommended by my friend Coral or Curious Appetite, but you can always try this place and decide for yourself.
