Bright, spacious, and decorated with photos of famous Greek people on the walls, To Steki was an amazing Greek restaurant in the heart of Bologna! Every bite of food here was absolutely on point, and the service was rustic but super friendly nonetheless. The must-get appetizer is the Salsa Miste, which came with a dollop of each of their five dips: tzatziki (a creamy yogurt and cucumber dip), melinzanosalata (an eggplant puree), skordalia (a garlicky potato puree), and my two favorites, the taramosalata (fish roe and bread crumbs), and the spicy kafteri (ricotta, feta, and peppers). Each of these dips was completely distinct in flavor, and each of them went perfectly with the triangles of chewy, grilled pita bread that came on the side! For our mains, the Tris Special came with three different meats: gyros (which were carved from a rotating spit and had lots of crispy edges), souvlaki (a pork skewer), and my favorite, the bifteki (a juicy grilled ground beef patty). The plate also came with a dollop of tzatziki and a refreshing Greek salad made of cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, green bell peppers, red onions, and feta cheese. But my favorite entree was the Ceci e Polipo, a super satisfying stew of tender pieces of octopus along with chickpeas cooked in a broth of tomatoes, onions, carrots, and herbs. Found this place after visiting the Ferrari Factory earlier today. We were hungry, and wanted something, anything, other than Italian food. And Greek sounded like an amazing option. This place was the perfect choice!! They have English menus, the staff is friendly, and they took our order right away. We tried 4 appetizers, 1 salad and 1 main dish (see pictures w/ descriptions) everything was great. What needed to be served cold was cold, and the hot dishes were hot. (If you've eaten in Italy, you'd know why this is great!) everything was seasoned well! Nothing was salty, and nothing was under seasoned. The pita bread is amazing, nice and toasted, thick but cooked well. The prices are amazing, a liter of sparkling water was 2,20€ !!!! The appetizers each cost under 5€ each and the mains, under 8€. The place is clean, the bathrooms are small but clean and with enough of everything. Service was fast, but you did not feel rushed. Wish I would've had room for dessert, because they had an apple pie that looked amazing! If you try it, let me know how it tastes. read more

Everything in Italy doesn't disappoint. The best Greek place in Bologna, ingredients are fresh, portion is generous and the restaurant is quite spacious, very comfortable to sit down and enjoy the meal along with the steer view. It's funny that the waiter saw our Asian faces and assumed we never had Greek before. Later he started making stops at Ku table on his way to other table just to show other people's order, "this is souvlaki", very nice of him, but Greek food is popular in Canada. read more

I really enjoyed the food here! We came here for dinner and were very happy with our choice, we found the food authentic ans delicious. We had some of their house wine (which is pretty strong!), a greek salad, and two of their platters. I ordered the "To Steki" Platter and it contained gyros meat plus grilled veggies and other delicious sauces. I would highly recommend this dish. The pita was also good, and was only 60 cents for the basket. The service here was excelent and our waitress was attentive. Our food came out relatively quickly and our waitress was quick to remove plates as we finished eating. When my husband dropped his fork, the waitress noticed and replaced it within a minute! I've been here twice so far. The atmosphere is perfect as the restaurant is bright and modern and classy in a casual way. The staff is friendly. My first visit was for dinner and my husband and I really enjoyed it. The menu is simple, classical Greek dishes, but not "typically" prepared. A bit elevated if you will. The portions were just right. I had the Salmon - he had the shrimp - both delicious. The prices reasonable. Wine was approx 12 bucks a glass. I was anxious to come back for lunch. I returned with a friend who is vegan. The lunch menu was extremely limited and almost everything had meat or cheese. The beets were served with oil and vinegar -nothing special. The hummus was fresh and tasty. My zucchini pancakes lacked seasoning, my spinach pie tasty but a bit salty. My enthusiasm has waned but I may give it one more try as I am really rooting for this place. read more
