I only had one night with Tuscan food and this meal really put me off of this cuisine. All stars goes to service, deco and location of this place but none of the dishes impressed us or was even good. The onion soup was dry and had no soup! Just slow braised onion with bread! The signature beef meatballs were dry and the tomato source was far over powering. The lamb in lasagna has very strong taste should be reminded to customers since not all can take it. Ordered a classic desert crème brûlée and thought nothing could go wrong it that but no, the top layer sugar was so thick and custard base was cold! Was head chef working on the day!? But service and location is great. I also liked the deco of the place.

One of my most favorite restaurants in Florence for lunch or dinner. The menu changes according to the season just like most authentic and superb restaurants in our city. Staff are professional you can see the kitchen with professional chefs making fantastic meals. You can eat anytime from 11am - 11pm. Perfect for business lunch meetings or dinner with your family. The selection is perfect choose from fresh fish, meat and vegetable plates. I love the organic chicken crostini, first course pasta dishes with Gragnano Pasta and the second course whether is meat of fish are delicious. Be sure to leave room for dessert !

This is the menu, it gave me the impression that is not extensive.

For me this was a 4.5 stars restaurant. As there is no such option, I do believe that is more a 5 than a 4, that's why the review. The restaurant is really nice, it has a casual ambience, but there is some elegance in they way they conduct themselves. The service was great, the waiter that served us was really attentive, proactive and had a good knowledge of the menu and dishes. He even said that our appetisers selection was similar and recommended us the eggplant dish that we ended up loving. Here's our experience in a few paragraphs: - Drinks: I ordered a glass of Chardonnay of the house (they do their own wine), it was good but they don't have more white wine options by the glass, and that let me down a little bit. - Appetiser: we had the burrata zucchini marinara e balsamico, this dish was really good. Great combination between the tenderness of the burrata with perfect crunchy cuts of zucchini. Additionally, by recommendation of our waiter, we ordered the eggplant stuffed with ricotta in tomato and pesto sauce. This was the highlight of the meal. It was perfectly cooked, simple and rich at the same time. - Main: I ordered the risotto with pepperoni and goat cheese sauce. This was delicious. The first bite was not what I was expecting, so it didn't impressed me at first. But as you're progressing, it is getting better and better. My husband ordered a homemade pasta alla bolognese that was one of the off-menu specials, this was good but it tasted too much meat, is not the bolognese we had in mind, and looking back, we would rather ordered something more exciting. - Dessert: you must have the Tiramisù! It was excellent and it seemed to be a modern interpretation of the classic dish without losing its traditional flavours (the cacao/coffee sprinkles on top was a really nice touch). My only complaint was that was too small and we love to share desserts (if you have this: DO NOT SHARE). The restaurant reached the expectations and it was not excessively expensive (the usual for Florence). We definitely recommend it as a safe option to dine here.

An expensive but beautiful little cafe next to the Arno river. Definitely an ideal place to go for a sophisticated but simple meal. As normal I found this place by accident whilst walking down the Arno river and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the pear and cheese dish along with the very well made aperol spritz, a drink that can easily be made badly. This is great for people watching and has all the atmosphere you can hope for in Florence. Furthermore it is filled with Italians which is always a positive sign! With a great view onto the Ponte Vecchio you can't go wrong. Please don't hesitate coming here if you have money to spend its a great spot for a romantic date before going on

Fantastic food. We had an amazing wine tasting event here and the location is fabulous. If you're in Florence looking for lunch, this is the place. Highly recommend!!!

We stopped in because it was one of the few places open in the middle of the day, and it has a great location near the bridge. The restaurant is very nice looking, and their daily specials on the chalkboard are great, including the wine of the day. Everything we ate was fantastic. I especially liked the cauliflower with tomato because we hadn't had anything like that yet, and it was great to have well-done vegetables to offset all the pasta we ate in Italy.

The special of the day: entrecôte served rare with grilled sweet onions, potatoes and anchovy caper sauce

We had dinner early at 6pm and sat at a communal table. The cabinets displayed various bottles of wine, oil, vinegar, etc all under the Il Borro label -- a feast for the eyes in anticipation of a delicious meal. We enjoyed the Culatello on Toast, Pecorino Cheese Pie with walnut sauce, pear salad and truffle. The server indulged our vegan companion with an off-menu tomato pasta which was simple yet flavorful. After all, everything in Florence is fresh, seasonal, and the animals are happy. Florentine locals only use their freezers to make ice cubes! The special of the day was entrecôte with the sweetest onions and grilled potatoes with an anchovy caper paste. It was great to share. Ambiance-wise, the vaulted ceilings show traces of frescoes while the place is contemporary in gray and wood. Overall a pleasant dinner.

We ordered the 2.6 lb dry aged Florentine steak and gnocchi. The Florentine steak is a must try steak here. It was very juicy, tender, and it was bursting with flavor. The meat was nice and chewy. The steak was gigantic and it is bigger than my head. They first bring out the raw steak and weight it in front of you. The steak is enough to share for three people. The gnocchi was also very delicious. It was cheesy and rich. It was also in a way creamy and the cheese just melted in your mouth. One of the best things I've ever put in my mouth and eaten. The cheesecake is very famous in this restaurant. We tried it and understand why. The cheesecake was super creamy and soft. I had a great time and experience here. Definitely will be back sometime soon hopefully. This is a place I highly recommend to everyone. Come and try it out for yourselves.

He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. He had his own GF bread basket and was able to order almost anything on the menu. We ordered a nice bottle of Montepulciano red for the table that was $48. Others had the Hugo spritz. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.

Wow, what a special place…read more Set inside a 14th-century tower near the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, this restaurant delivers an unforgettable dining experience from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere alone is worth a visit, but the food is what truly makes it exceptional. We ordered the ravioli, pappardelle with wild boar ragù, the Florentine steak, a mixed salad, affogato, and fresh strawberries with mascarpone cream. To drink, we shared a small carafe of red wine and a Pinot Grigio. Everything was spectacular. The Florentine steak was easily the best--and largest--I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and remarkably tender, it was the highlight of an already outstanding meal. The pappardelle with boar ragù was rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying, while the ravioli was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Every dish felt authentic, carefully executed, and memorable. The wine was another pleasant surprise. Both selections were excellent and very reasonably priced, making the meal feel like an even better value. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. He patiently answered questions, explained the menu, and guided us toward some fantastic choices. Although we thought we were too full for dessert, we're very glad we changed our minds. The affogato was fantastic, and the strawberries with mascarpone cream were absolutely delicious. One of the highlights of the evening was watching our four-year-old happily clutching two spoons and enthusiastically scooping fresh strawberries and mascarpone into his mouth. It was one of those memorable family travel moments that you don't forget. A terrific meal, a unique historic setting, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. This was one of our favorite dining experiences in Florence, and I highly recommend it.

Were ordered a bottle of Chianti Classico to start, as well as a few pastas plus the steak and cod. I can safely say the spaghetti pomodoro with burrata was the best pasta dish I've had in Italy - the pasta was perfectly cooked and the cherry tomatoes was so sweet, the kind of thing that reminds you why you came to Italy in the first place. The soups were all well prepared and the medley of ingredients were just absolutely enjoyable. It was the first time I tried these traditional Tuscan soups and I'll be looking for more in the future. I chose to get a glass of red wine to enjoy with the meal and I like their model where they bring you a newly opened bottle and only charge you by what you pour. Smart on them since of course I poured myself more than one glass so really it's a win win for both. Reservations are highly recommended and there are no English menus available. Back in the…read morestates, I always get strange reactions from the waiters when I order my steak "as rare as possible." That is what I was expecting in Italy. Am I the only one that thought steak florentine was supposed to be served this way? Maybe that's was my mistake but I thought that's how it was prepared in Florence. Anyways, I was immediately suspicious when our waitress asked how we would like our steak cooked and her suggestions were medium or medium well. Uhhhh what? That goes against everything I believe in! The steak came out on a hot stone slab on top of a wooden box. The slab obviously continued to cook the steak so I immediately took off a few pieces to prevent this. The steak was thick and tender with chunks of large salt grains. It looked nice all sliced up but that's where the compliments end. It lacked flavor and ended up cooking to be more medium rare when I grabbed my pieces and then even medium by the time my dad grabbed his second slice. Our waitress seemed annoyed when we asked for the truffle sauce to accompany our steak (my dad forgot to ask for it when we placed our original order) and walked away with a huff to go grab it. The fries came out cold and limp with flavorless truffle shavings on top. I'm not sure why this place has such great reviews. Maybe it got too big for its britches and the quality has declined? The one saving grace was the crema bruciata! And the very understanding hostess who gladly pushed our reservation from 7:30 to 8:00pm due to travel difficulties. Whatever the reason, this place definitely missed the mark. You can't walk three steps without seeing a steakhouse here in Florence. My recommendation? Try one of those.
