5 STARS!!! We were from out of town and had an emergency…read moreeyeglass repair needed for a teenager. Insight was FANTASTIC! The repairs were made as we waited and we were so grateful. Definitely will tell all of our local friends and family of their great service. Also, loved the selection of eyeglasses and sunglasses as we browsed as we waited!

My husbands glasses where ready and waiting in the office without us receiving a call. We had to call to see if they were ready only to be told they had been ready for a week. Gee did anyone think to call us maybe? Then I called in a week and half later wondering if my glasses where ready and the receptionist told me they where ready but the lab hasn't mailed them out yet. I called today and was told they would be on back order for another week and 5 days (which is basically two weeks just softening the blow). Again, no one thought to call us and inform us of the status. Real unprofessional and inconsiderate. When I asked why no one had I formed us the receptionist responded with "well my coworker is right here next to me do you want me to ask her?" Instead of a simple "I apologize for the miscommunication. I assure you once they are in we will give you a call" I don't think businesses realize how much competition there is and quite frankly, I don't think they care. Otherwise the service wouldn't have been so unprofessional. Long story short, take your business elsewhere. Update 3/02/2021 I STILL don't have my glasses.!

Even though I stood at the counter while my husband started looking around, neither of the two workers said "welcome, we'll be with you as soon as possible." I realized that they were with others (within 6 feet of us), but I've been recognized in busy places before. I waited for 10 minutes, and one of them even helped a new arrival 10 minutes later. We put a couple of pairs at the customer desk and sat down, and they still didn't acknowledge us. A "We'll be with you in 45 minutes" could have sufficed. At least then, we could have left sooner than after more than 30 minutes of wasting our time.

I honestly go to my other doctor cause they're in network with my insurance and cover 100% of my exam but with the experience I had today at lens crafters I will gladly pay out of pocket and get reimbursed by my insurance to have the quick and friendly service I had today :)

" Yesterday my sister went in to get her eye checked out because it was bothering her. She was told by her Optometrist to keep her "Cotton Picking" (C.P.) hands out of her eyes. While telling her this, he proceeds to write it on her PRESCRIPTION. I'm really over it. I'm so frustrated. I'm having serious trust issues, and calling everything and everyone into question. Tell me I'm ridiculous. Tell me I'm making it up. I'm about 5 seconds from losing it. Please don't be the one today."

This is the first truly negative review I've ever left on Yelp, and I'm doing so with the hopes…read morethat it causes Dr. Pugh- who has been around far long enough time know better- to think before he speaks. When I lived in Provo, I not only saw Dr. Pugh because he was BYU's ROTC program optometrist but also because he was one of the only doctors covered by my job's vision benefits. The eye exam went well enough at first until we got to talking about my left eye, which has a visual impairment and looks "away." He 1) called the way my eye rotated "unsightly" (which, as a then 26 year old girl felt like a bucket of cold water), 2) suggested that men might find me more attractive if they couldn't see my eye's turn, and 3) suggested that I get a half-tinted glasses lens for that eye (as if that alone wouldn't draw more attention to it??). I left feeling very self-conscious and worried that something that had only caused me minor awkwardness (it's been that way my whole life, so I was just used to it) was really a much bigger problem than it ever had been. Friends assured me that he was way out of line but I did nothing about it except purchase frames and lenses elsewhere after leaving abruptly. Friends with similar impairments were treated poorly by Dr. Pugh (a friend who was in AFROTC said she had a very similar experience to me, but that he almost prohibited her from being able to serve because he didn't want to perform a test. Another friend, a civilian, said that he mocked her for having a very strong prescription, which baffled her because she was there so it could be corrected). The real reason that I'm finally writing this review is because a friend posted a photo wherein Dr. Pugh wrote "Keep your CP hands out of your eyes" on a woman of colour's new glasses *prescription.* CP, standing for "cotton picking," which she knew because he told her that verbally before writing it down. When I saw it, I was horrified, astounded, but also not surprised that it was Dr. Pugh, having been on the receiving end of his thoughtless/ignorant rudeness. He may be a capable optometrist but he has the bedside manner of a cockroach :(

My visit to Standard Optical had some really good parts and some less good parts…read more First of all, they were able to get me in with an appointment really soon. They're not too busy, and accept walk ins, so it is more convenient than other optical places. The employees were nice, but don't expect to get to browse glasses without major hovering and constant questions from them. For some, that might be great customer service, but for me it was too much. Since there are only a couple employees there at a time they're really personable, but somewhat slow--if somebody's working with them ahead of you it's not unreasonable to expect a looong wait. As far as the less good, you have the optometrist. My exam was fine, efficient even, but I tried to ask some more questions afterwards and he couldn't have been more awkward. He literally didn't even make eye contact and started walking out of his office while we were still talking to rush me out with short, non-descriptive answers and obvious discomfort. If it weren't for how helpful the employees were with pricing, I probably would've hated my visit overall since he was the worst doctor I've ever seen, but they were running a special half off lenses and frames if you paid without insurance and were so helpful to compare the cost with my insurance vs. with their deal and changing a lot of other variables as I made up my mind so that I could get the best price.
