Terrible customer service. I tried ordering glasses for my son. They kept saying they were done, so we'd drive over but then they'd act all confused about where they were. They'd then look in the system & tell me the order hasn't been processed yet. I finally have given up on a place that has no clue what they're doing. I give it no stars. Why is it so cheap? Because their products are cheap. Their customer service is poor and their quality is poor. I got bad glasses from them and after two years of trying to get some resolution, my claim was denied. The lenses were made wrong the first time so I took them back. The second time they were worse than the first. Totally made incorrectly. I would never recommend this company to anyone and if you do go, be prepared to go back several times to get your prescription correct, and then have them take no responsibility for their actions. I spent $800 on two pair of glasses. That was twice what I paid for my previous two pair from a different store, but I reasoned that at least this is a two or three year investment. Wrong. Three months after I started wearing them, I noticed scratches. I assumed this was UV coating or some other layer peeling off, because nothing had touched the lenses but fingers, lukewarm water, and t-shirt fabric. (I am very careful with my glasses, don't drop them, or allow hard objects to touch them; two years of life per pair before the lenses get pockmarked and I buy new ones is my norm.) Since the lenses were both looking worn, I new it wasn't some incident of random damage. It was uniform, feathery marks on both lenses. Obviously just coating peeling off, I thought. I took the pair of glasses in question back to Eyeglass World, and was told by an employee who could barely speak English that, no, those are scratches. Baffled, I asked how my lenses could already be scratched, and he responded, "Is plastic." Plastic was the cheapest material; I had selected High Index, far more expensive and lightweight (any other option and the lenses would be to heavy), but it was still just plastic. I asked if there was anything they could do. No, he said, I had failed to purchase their protection plan (something I have never done for any pair of glasses I've owned, and something I was disinclined to do after I saw the initial $800 price tag). I thought my usual precautions would keep them clear and free from damage. No one told me the glasses I purchased could be scratched by t-shirt fabric and water, or that my typical babying and cautious treatment of my eyewear would be insufficient to preserve them for more than three months. If you want glasses that last, I recommend you shop somewhere other than Orem Eyeglass World. read more

Staff and doctor are helpful, informative, friendly, and I appreciated learning about how my eyes work. I usually don't have "fun" experiences at eye exams, but I honestly have to say I did here. 10/10 would go again. read more

Super disappointing experience. I myself have worked in retail for over 6 years and have seen lots of bad customer service. The customer service I experienced at eyeglass world was some of the worst. I was just prescribed my first pair of glasses, so I'm very new to this world. I came into the store at 6:30 to browse some styles and without being greeted the man behind his desk says, "We close at 6:30." Okay.... So I had a half an hour and from the start they wanted me gone. I was looking at frames when another woman started pulling EXTREMELY expensive frames for me without even asking what I was looking for or my style preferences. Finally, one man from the back came out and asked if he could help me. I told him I needed glasses by Friday and he said he could help me expedite them. So, I put two pairs on hold then left. I came back the next day when I again wasn't greeted and walked up a new lady behind her desk and asked for the frames I put on hold. She replied with, "Just so you know our system is down so we won't be able to place any orders. We can talk pricing but that is all we will be able to do today." I told her about needing them by Friday and what the man told me the day before. She said there was no way that was going to be possible. I said, "okay..?" She stared at me and said, "sorry." Then I set the glasses I liked down and feeling very awkward walked out. Give the nice man in the glasses and lab coat a raise. Every other part of this experience was very disappointing. I'm sad to have to get my first pair of glasses elsewhere because there were many I liked. read more

I liked everything about my visit today. The ophthalmologist was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me. They have a great selection of frames and they seem to have a good price range from really affordable (78 for two pairs) to designer brands like Oakley and Nike. Personally I got two pairs of Oakleys one with polarized translation lenses and the other with clear non glaring lenses and after my insurance took their unfortunately low portion of the cost I was left with the cost of 552.67 All and all that's not a bad price for Oakleys with polarized lenses. Came into my appointment at 12:30 and they could not find my insurance when they looked it up. I was trying to get the info but the guy at the desk was whining that the doctor leaves at 1. Why would you schedule an appointment so close to when the doctor leaves? He wanted me to reschedule or go somewhere that had my insurance information. Why not do the exam and I will get you the right number during my exam? Not coming back. Care more about the doctors schedule than helping your patients. read more

Staff were willing to give individualized attention to each person and listen to their needs. All of the employees at this store have been professional, patient with my many requests to continually adjust my glasses as I'm picky and they expand in changing temperatures (plastic frame problems) They have been kind, understanding, and helpful. I have been impressed many times over. I had an issue with my glasses and William was enthusiastic and jumped right in to help remedy the issue. The glasses prices were also fair. They have an on-going deal of buy one pair get one free (paying the higher of the two costs). They also have a great warranty/insurance plan you can buy where you pay a one amount for each pair of lenses you want insured (at the time of purchase) and it covers it for a year. Then any damage is covered for free, just bring the glasses in to the store. I wanted my glasses back for something in a couple days and I was pleased that they were able to do them in house, returning them by the next day! They can not do everything there in house, so ask before banking on them having them back the next day, but it worked for me. I have not been to other eye glass world stores but the Orem store in University place is good! I went in again with frames purchass elsewhere and they were very kind and accommodating to adjust them for me. I was having a LOT of trouble getting them to fit my face from my eye doctor's office. But they got them to fit much better than any other attempts. Superb staff! Superb customer service! Superbly accommodating. The only reason that I didn't buy this pair of glasses there this time was because I was trying to use the benefit through my insurance. I was shocked with how fast my contact lenses came in! They thought it would take two weeks, and they got them in less than three days. I have a really particular and different prescription, so usually they take longer to come in. I thought I was going to be without contact lenses for a long time, but that was not the case at all. I originally got my exam done at the Murray location, they were able to pull it up quickly here in Orem, and get my contacts ordered. They were more expensive than I expected, but I don't care. I just wanted lenses. It's nice to know that if I'm willing to pay a little bit extra, I'll be able to get my lenses quickly if I go back here. read more

Went to my own eye doctor but came here to get glasses. People very nice, poor quality glasses. Felt cheap and they were hard to see through. EVERYTHING left smudges on them. Bought the extra warranty and the glasses broke right after it expired. Took them in and they told me they couldn't repair them and I'd have to buy another pair of glasses. (The stem fell off the glasses which is usually just because the screw fell out.) Told me about a repair shop but when I went there the guy gave me a whole story about having to weld a totally different stem on and the price was ridiculous. I feel played. I shopped around in person to a few businesses before selecting this Eyeglass World store in Orem, next to the mall. I couldn't be happier from the overall experience and their selection. Both my sales rep Randy and the store manager Michael we're so friendly and informative, with no hard sell. They asked the right questions and listened to my needs. I also liked the extra measurements they took to ensure the glasses ordered will be perfect for me. I normally don't write reviews, but the costumer service I received was just awesome, and I walked out with 3 stylish pairs eyeglasses (2 readers and 1distance) for the price of 1 pair of glasses I priced at another store. So we went to look at glasses yesterday, the moment we walked in, two different male sales associates, instantly went up to my husband & they asked him if we were both looking for glasses, he said both of us were in the market looking for glasses. I've worked in sales, you talk to EVERYONE in the group, not just the man... Backstory* He was wearing his contacts today & I wear only glasses...so if I were them, I'd have reached out to try to talk to ME first, NOT him. But they clearly suck at customer service, why not suck at sales, too? Then I'd had a couple questions about a few frames in the $215-$300 range, and yet neither of the two male sales associates that ran up to speak to my husband, bothered to talk to me at all, & they totally ignored me and only talked to my husband. I had said, "excuse me, I've got a question" more than a few times to both of these men, when we were the only customers in the store & yet they still totally ignored me. I asked again, & the only one who acknowledged me there was their female sales associate. Sexist men much? We ended up leaving & my husband got glasses at another store. I loved a few different frames in there, but am not going to spend my money where I'm clearly not valued as a customer, so I'll spend my money elsewhere...& if you're a woman, I suggest you do the same. read more
