Thin bacon, ordered over easy eggs they were not as easy as id have liked
    Edward B.

Went to my very trusty Yelp to find a good quick breakfast spot, one I hadn't tried before, decided to cross the 1-17 heading west‍ ‍. despite having a hard time finding real time up to date pricing. It's in a rough neighborhood. Started out ok ordered the Cecillia special, brought out in a timely manner, immediately noticed razor thin bacon ( as shown in pic.) As a huge carnivore kinda disappointed, however the Green salsa made up for it. Was going to give them a solid 4, until the owner out of the blue started in on politics loudly espousing very radical liberal rhetoric. Completely uncalled for and inappropriate. After retiring from Union Ironworks 28 yrs, and miltary disability, so 2 pensions i still supplement my income by doing gig work, so i understand about customer service. Rule mumber 1# don't bring up politics in front of customers/riders/clients. And thats why i have 5 ratings across multiple platforms I don't assume everybody shares my views. Especially when you are charging 14$ for a breakfast plate that used to go for 8$ in alot of places 3-4 yrs ago throughout the valley. I retired 3 yrs ago with no expectation of ever working again, but with inflation and higher cost im forced back into the workforce. So last thing i want to hear about while dining out is politics. I've reviewed many times over several platforms in different cities and countrys over the yrs, rarely do i ever leave bad reviews, i normally just leave it alone and skip the review entirely. This left a bad taste in my mouth. Its inappropriate even if he supported conservatives.

    Classic BLT with avocado
    Varina R.

This is only my second time coming here but once again, Lunch Time exceeds my expectations. I ordered the classic BLT with avocado toasted, and it was amazing. There was an abundance of bacon, the bread was soft but toasty, the amount of each ingredient was perfect. Best BLT I've ever had. I also had the broccoli cheddar soup and it was pretty good. My kids had hot dogs which were huge! They loved them. The service was amazing. They made us feel at home and like family. The cafe was very clean and comfy. It's a little pricey but absolutely worth every bit of it.

The sandwich was fresh and delicious. The bread was very good and the meat was perfect. Can't wait to eat here again so I can try the soup.

From the display cases, the colors, the jars they sell their quick breakfast chia seed pudding in and the furniture, it's all really nice. The coffee flavors are all there. This year, I've visited after work with coworkers and after work alone to get more work done. Despite the limited parking out front, there is free curbside parking beside and behind the coffee shop adjacent to the nearby businesses and residential area. There is ample space inside with various types of seating and ample charging and free wifi. The front area has window counter space and couches/love seats to lounge. The back area has small tables, large tables, desks with lamps, and a love seat. My only complaint is that this large area gets pretty hot in summer afternoons without adequate AC or fans back here. It was like this last year when I previously attended the evening coffee raves. Both times upon visiting recently in daytime, I ordered the Dark Horse latte, comprised of dark maple syrup, smoked sea salt, espresso, milk. I love this latte because it's sweet but also has depth from the smokiness and saltiness. While I think the coffee is on the pricier side, I'm incredibly satisfied with my drink choice regardless. Overall limited specialty drink menu (which is what I usually care about when exploring coffee shops) but many options in general. Seems like people mostly come here to be on their laptops opposed to socializing here, which I appreciate. This is an incredible spot to work, especially since they close later in the day at 6pm, offer free wifi, ample seating, ample charging.

I was hoping they'd have some good tea options too, and they absolutely do. I ordered the iced peach black tea, and it was incredibly refreshing with a really nice peach flavor that wasn't overly sweet. The cashier was also super helpful in walking me through the menu and helping me decide what to order, which made for a great first impression. For breakfast, I got the avocado cream. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the chive cream was an absolute standout, it was so flavorful and ended up being the perfect dip for bites of the avocado toast. My only complaint is that it was pretty cumbersome to eat as served. I basically had to deconstruct the whole thing to enjoy it, so I think a different presentation would make the dish even better. The atmosphere was another highlight. It felt much more like a cocktail lounge than your typical coffee shop, which made it a really enjoyable place to sit and relax. Even though I can't personally vouch for the coffee, I had such a great experience that I can't wait to come back and next time I'll bring one of my coffee-loving friends to see if the coffee lives up to everything else!

Went out of my way for this one and it was totally worth it…read more It's a bit hidden, but once you turn the corner it's a delightful find. It's a fantastic coffee shop designed with simplicity and producivity in mind - hosted in a gorgeous building with exposed brick and ceilings, which give it an industrial feel. My take on the space was it breathes this interesting balance of lingering, connection with others, and productivity. Almost every seat had a corresponding table, so that's a warm invitation to bring your devices in. There was a Ducati (!!!) parked right across from the coffee bar, which I later learned belongs to the owner just sharing his passion with the coffee community. Small detail, but it says something about the place. Definitely not a coffee shop trying to be a copy and paste chain. Menu had a few creative options I wouldn't mind coming back to try. They've also got their own merch line; the cups were also designed well enough that you'd actually want to keep one. There's street art right across from the shop worth a look if you've got a few minutes to spare. If you don't mind a short drive for a great cup and a space that actually feels lived in, this one delivers. PS - Parking can be tricky. It looks like there's ample space to park, but a lot of that is for Galvanize and the offices in the building. Towing trucks come over often, so heads up if you're going to park there. Don't get caught in the wrong spot.

Their simple menu is not overly complicated but has quality craft coffee and other beverages to get you loaded. The housemade syrups are a refreshing upside from the commercial syrups used at a lot of coffee shops. Almond and oatmilk substitutes are available. I like that you can add more syrup to up the sweetness, but it will cost ya. TOUCH GRASS (seasonal)- this strawberry match had a nice sweet and bitter balance of the matcha. The creaminess also mellowed out the whole drink. It is very mild with the strawberry so the sweetness was subtle. Not bad, but depending if you want more strawberry flavor you should add extra shot of strawberry syrup. Overall I think it was a really good strawberry matcha; one of the best I've had. The inside is large and spacious but very sterile like a museum. It kinda gave a cold ambiance. The only downside is that the parking lot is not huge. The spaces in the actual lot are very sparse. The side lot for parking is inconvenient as you have to walk around the long fence just to go in, so trying to get in and out quickly might be a problem. You can definitely get your coffee buzz here, but just remember folks, buzzed driving is caffeinated driving.

The ambiance, drinks, and service were all great! There is an entrance to Lola Coffee from Roosevelt and another from the back near parking spaces. There is a restroom near the back entrance, and the start to the line to place an order is right near the front entrance. I saw in one of the comfy chairs while I waited for my former student to arrive. At that point, we moved to a regular table and then went and ordered drinks. She ordered a coffee, and I ordered a lemonade. We both enjoyed our drinks which were ready very quickly. There were smaller and larger tables, and there were also countertops along with business cards and marketing items at the back of the room on a thin table. Lola Coffee began with humble beginnings going back to 1992 with a cart, then Lux Coffee, and eventually Lola Coffee downtown. Now, there is even a second Lola Coffee location in Arcadia near 40th Street and Indian School. Today, they serve coffee, pastries, and breakfast. The Downtown Phoenix location hours are weekdays from 6:30 AM to 7 PM and weekends from 7 AM to 7 PM. You can see their menu, history, photos, and more on their website (https://lolacoffeebarphx.com). While I had trouble choosing between a lemonade for a cold beverage or hot chocolate for a warm beverage, it's great they have so many options. Again, try them for drinks, breakfast, or pastries. Their staff is so helpful and the actual restaurant is quite welcoming to everyone.
