I'm from New York, and I've never had a bad sandwich here....evah!…read more Love the Meatball, the Pastrami, The Italian - even a simple Roast beef. I think Franks is one of the best Deli's in the area....bar none!

FIRST OFF! When asking how do you make your Meatball…read moreSandwich there is 1 correct answer! These guys NAILED IT! I know some of you are uneducated about the quality of a meatball sandwich & that's ok, I'm not judging so do not be offended. To begin... This is a neighborhood place just like back east , nestled in a neighborhood on the corner hidden from the strip mall garbage. When you come here, and you better, do not be distracted by the path to tasty food. It is in an older neighborhood with minimal parking but fantastic personalities, service & FOOD! Upon entry it's a time warp for us who grew up in a time that was better. This is a good Olde Fashion deli that sells great food with amazing service. Franks is a family place. Back to the real topic... Meatball Sandwich; when you ask what is the cheese that use & the owner is educated on quality be states "Provolone on the bottom, Mozzarella on top" just know you're in the right place! The flavor is top notch, added some cherry peppers to spice it up just right, bell peppers & onions are standard. Took it to go, drove about 20 minutes to where I needed to be, the aroma was teasing me, the concern of the sandwich being cold or soggy rang in my mind while driving the 17 to the 10.. I was nervous, anxious & salivating.... Opening the togo container to see the glorious sandwich! The meatballs are still hot, the sauce is holding place & the bread is still bread, not some soggy remnant of dough! Thank you for the pride, quality & tasty sandwich.

Several years ago I tried Romanelli's food at the Farmers market at Sun City. I thought their…read moremeatballs were very good. My brother saw their Facebook page and thought we should have lunch at their deli in Phoenix. We brought our friend along and made it a threesome. My brother and I had the Robert's Special (Roast Beef, Pastrami, Provolone Cheese, Tomato, Mayo & Onion, Served Hot). My friend had the George's Special (Ham, Capicolla, Salami, Mortadella, Pepperoni, Provolone, and Hot Peppers or Sweet Peppers). The consensus was unanimous. The bread is great. The meat was too! To finish off our meal we all had a Cannoli. Magnifico. The crunchy shell was dusted with powdered sugar and the filling was sweet and creamy. There is an array of Sandwiches, entrees, soups , and specials. Same for the bakery. A sweet list of cakes, cookies etc. Parking can be a problem. Not enough spaces to park. I suggest you have your lunch earlier than noon. Tables will be full at that time. Looking forward to trying something different on my next visit.

Visited for the first time and it felt like I stepped back in time and was in a deli in New York…read more The smells hit you when you walk through the door. Then you see the deli counter and all the sweets and it gets hard to decide! We went with the beef and pastrami special and it was enough to split with the wife. Service was quick and we had enough time to get some sauce and cannolis to go. I can see why this place has been around since the '70s. Everything was great and I would definitely go again. "FIMP" Food is my passion
