Rays pizza is always delicious. Well made, great sauce and only place we order from for 10 years

Ive been a loyal patron to this location since 1991 . In the last year ive ordered 3 times and it gets worse each time. Ordered delivery the staff failed to give the driver the whole order. Ordered pizza and 20 wings. No wings arrived after already tipping online 8 bucks and total bill near $50 to have to get in my car to go pick them up. Come back home to a luke warm pizza now too and 30 plus min old wings. Couple young gals gigly and talking about topics outside of work rather than focusing on the job of serving their employers customers. No apologies , no customer service skills . I dont expect a red carpet rolled out but man basic human courtesy in todays world is non existent. Next order was about 2 months ago. I ordered a large cheese pizza to go . Arrived within the 25 mins quoted that the pizza would be ready. Ordered at 1 hr till closing 8pm. Arrived and mentioned my order number. Register gal looked around no pizza. Went to the kitchen pick ticket printer. The kitchen staff never bothered to look and didn't make my order. So no apologies , nothing said front gal got them making the pizza . I just shook my head and sat down. Incompetence on top of being outright rude and not saying sorry there was confusion we'll get that right out to you. After 18 mins they managed to get it made and i regret tipping them at the register. Didn't look at the pizza. Got home and was disgusted to see there was a wet sloppy mess from the center radiating out about 3 inches. NO Crust . Was watery , cold wet lumps of cheese , sauce and likely dishwater from a wet pan, pizza peel or who knows. It almost like it was placed on a dishwater laden pan to be cut. For $22 for a stinking cheese pizza that is only 16" Its a rip off and I will never return to this location. Near $30 with a tip for nearly inedible pizza. Im temporarily disabled and have no income.. A good friend gave me some money to get something goid I enjoy. I used to love this place and the last 3 times this location has just gone downhill and completely untrustworthy now. read more

I was really disappointed with my experience at Ray's Pizza. The pizza itself was made very sloppy, thrown together with little care or attention to quality. On top of that, the customer service was basically non-existent -- no friendliness, no engagement, nothing that made us feel valued as customers. There are so many great pizzerias in the Valley that take pride in their food and actually appreciate your business. Unfortunately, Ray's isn't one of them. Do yourself a favor and spend your money and time elsewhere. read more

I'm sad to say that this place is no longer a 5 pizza place. The new owners made some major adjustments to the recipe and ingredients and it is nothing like the glory days of Ray's past. It's really a bummer... read more

Went by for lunch, they had a 2 slice and drink combo for $8. The slices were massive, I should've taken a picture but I couldn't help myself. The girl at the counter was extremely helpful. It was cozy, massive tv, plenty of tables to sit at while you wait or dine in. Looks a little sketchy outside but it's definitely worth a visit back. read more

I reminisce to my mid-20s thinking about Rays pizza in old town at 2am which is viscerally different than Rays pizza mid-30s with a stomach less tolerant. The pizza was OK overall, did not exactly move my external needle from 0 to 100. read more

We have gone here for years until today!! We waited over an hour for a called in pizza We were quoted 25 minutes for. Went to the counter and the very rude girl asked me " what do you want me to do about it." I asked for a manager and got an apology and assurance my pizza was up next 2 more pizzas for people who came after me came out. I went back and asked for the manager only to find out they still had not started my pizza. If this place wants to keep customers I would fire the girl at the front and the unbelievably rude "person " who kept giving my 16 year old dirty looks just because I asked for the pizza I paid for. Not my cup of tea. There were probably six people working but only one who could take orders. The pizza: used shredded sausage, some people like it other so not. Our table was split. The wings were wings as were the mushrooms. The anti pasta salad was ok the dressing was meh. All the dressing is store bought. The steak sandwich I guess I didn't realize the tomato sauce was going to be on it. Yuck! I ate half because I was starving. Half the restaurant was used for storage. It was just strange. read more

Ordered a supreme pizza and pretty much received a bell pepper and onion pizza. Cheese sprinkled on top isn't even melted either. This is unacceptable and should have never been sent out. read more

Weve been eating at this location for years b/c it was the best pizza in town & best Rays out of all locations. A few months ago we slowed down b/c it was different, pizza was good but not like it used to be & we heard it was bought by someone(no proof just hearsay) but made sense b/c it was different. Well tonight I ordered the large pie +20 wings and it was $50?!?!?!?! WTF man. 50 bucks for a large and 20 wings???? Yea sorry NEVER going back, sorry Rays we use to be the loyal customers ordering same thing every single Friday night for years & years but never again. The pizza is decent but far from top 3 or maybe even out of top 5 & when youbpair that with a $50 price tag, nope we are done. Its sad for our family b/c like it said we are 25+ years going there at that location and for many years it was at least 3 Fridays a month, sometimes every week. I can put up with the pizza not as good as it once was but to price gouge us on top of it is insane. So lets do the math here, dough, cheese & sauce all bought in bulk so for a large pizza id guess MAYBE $3 to make but lets be generous, lets say $5. You're telling me that 20 freaking wings costs 4 $45? I know as a business owner you need to marl your product up, I ain't stupid but come on man this is an insult. I also know with the previous 4 years crushed everyone b/c of the insane inflation but its lowered & your prices went up in the same time inflation went down. A Tombestone, Red Barron or Digorno frozen pizza is not as good or even close to being as good as Rays BUT I buy those for $2-$3. Im also not cheap, alot of my spending goes to taking friends and family out to nice, or decently nice, restaurants so its not that we can't afford this, we just refuse to be gouge. read more

Common Ray's! I really wanted to give you a full 5 stars but I simply cannot after having visited recently. As always the pizza was DELICIOUS regardless of recent social trends, people still like dining in and the stench from the restrooms was VERY off putting. No amount of air fresheners or sprayers aimed directly at customers from the edge of the sink will cover the putrid stench of sewage. I will be back to check the state of the atmosphere but apparently the owners are unwilling to invest in maintenance/repairs to fix the plumbing and clear the air so until this issue is resolved I highly recommend ordering out from this location. This is NOT the same Ray's Pizza I grew up with in the '80's and '90's. It's obvious that it's not the same owner who's owned it for many years. It used to be the BEST pizza! Not anymore... This is the last time we eat here. They charged $2 to have the pizza double cut! Plus, the pizza we ordered wasn't fresh, it looked and tasted like a reheated pizza. $10 for 6 wings. Very expensive for sub-par food. Very disappointing. There are so many other pizzeria eateries to choose. Some of the Ray's Pizza are owned by different owners and are consistently better. Being from NY, Rays Pizza on 59th and Greenway was my go to NY pizza spot since the 90's. Unfortunately today was my last visit to this place. The previous owners had a passion for brining NY pizza to its customers, these kids working today are rude and simply working their shift. The pizza was no good, luke warm pizza and wings and all we can hear is annoyed workers every time a customer would ask for extra ranch. I ended up throwing away my leftover large pizza, this is not NY anymore. read more

I went for the lunch special two slices and a drink. and on Fridays I always do the Sicilian slices. today I ordered then sat down and looked at the bill for two slices it was $13.00. i asked and all of sudden they don't include sicilian slices in speacial. When I got the two slices. Not only were they smal but dried out over cookEd and the crust was hard as a rock. This place is far from New York style. The food was just awful - the pizza Was over cooked could not bite into it - the wings (4X) sent back because they were still frozen - then last one was cold with hat wing sauce. I've been coming here since 2007, in search of NY pizza. I'm not sure what happened but the quality of the food has declined. I haven't frequented it as much as anymore because it's become too pricey. $8.50 for two slices is crazy, so I only go once in a while now. I guess they changed owners and I can tell based on the quality of food and friendliness (lack of) that's why it declined. Still a good slice but too costly. read more

I ordered the large monster with anchovies. That was 6 pizzas ago! Generally I am an incredibly healthy eater. After having Ray's pizza I am addicted! The crust was perfect. Sauce and toppings generous and delicious. I deleted the green peppers and added anchovies. I can hear some of you going eeeewwww now! Delicious! What happened to Ray's we have eaten here for the past 20 years and it has radically changed. I remember the greasy cheese not the low budget cheese that looks like the picture below. I normally would call the establishment before writing in but it is clear to me that the place was either sold to new owners or they are using very cheap ingredients. First time in 20 years we threw our left overs in the trash. I was so very disappointed and it is sad we lost our NY style pizza. Ordered a large pizza and 20 wings, in which I asked them to be extra saucy and crispy. Went to pick up my order and was greeted with an attitude from the girl at the front. I then opened up my wings to find they were neither crispy nor saucy. I then asked the lady up front for extra sauce but she seemed very annoyed that I interrupted her conversation with another employee.
