Went by for lunch, they had a 2 slice and drink combo for $8. The slices were massive, I should've taken a picture but I couldn't help myself. The girl at the counter was extremely helpful. It was cozy, massive tv, plenty of tables to sit at while you wait or dine in. Looks a little sketchy outside but it's definitely worth a visit back.

2 times they undercooked a 35 dollar Sicilian. Also they keep getting thinner and thinner. AVOID THIS PLACE

I reminisce to my mid-20s thinking about Rays pizza in old town at 2am which is viscerally different than Rays pizza mid-30s with a stomach less tolerant. The pizza was OK overall, did not exactly move my external needle from 0 to 100.

Pizza overly covered in onions and bell peppers

Ordered a supreme pizza and pretty much received a bell pepper and onion pizza. Cheese sprinkled on top isn't even melted either. This is unacceptable and should have never been sent out.

Favorite place to eat. The staff is the greatest and all food is amazing. We've done a pizza night, an appetizer night, a plate night. Not a single thing I wouldn't order again

Pineapple and ham pizza slice that wasn't cooked all the way

I ordered two slice and a drink the cheese pizza wasn't cook all the way and the pineapple and ham wasn't cook through plus the staff didn't look like they wanted to help me came in on a Saturday

Common Ray's! I really wanted to give you a full 5 stars but I simply cannot after having visited recently. As always the pizza was DELICIOUS regardless of recent social trends, people still like dining in and the stench from the restrooms was VERY off putting. No amount of air fresheners or sprayers aimed directly at customers from the edge of the sink will cover the putrid stench of sewage. I will be back to check the state of the atmosphere but apparently the owners are unwilling to invest in maintenance/repairs to fix the plumbing and clear the air so until this issue is resolved I highly recommend ordering out from this location. Still love you Ray's. Thanks for the continued excellent food and service.

We highly recommend Rays Pizza on 59th Ave and Greenway. The Hawaiian with jalapeños was amazing

The decor is a bit dark, but chic & colorful. Our server, Esmerelda, was fantastic: funny, attentive, polite. There was a guy there who seemed to be the Jack of all trades. He brought us our food, I saw him behind the bar, and even bussing tables. He, too, was friendly & smiley. Cocktails: they had a great selection but we went with plain ol' Cokes. That's okay, we'll partake of their boozy drinks when we visit again. Food: parmesan truffle fries were aah-mazing. I even told Esmerelda they should add a pizza with the garlic aioli. The buffalo mozzarella had a bit of a kick to the sauce; we could have used more toasted bread to dip into it. We ordered the heaven and bianca pizzas. The crust was thinner than normal, which I was happy about, and the flavors of both were delicious. Dessert: despite not finishing the appetizers & pizza (no worries, we thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers!), we opted for a gelato flight. It was divine, and hefty samples. You wouldn't think 4 oz was much, but of gelato, it was plenty. We selected chocolate, strawberry, salted caramel, and mango. If you haven't tried Roma 23, I highly recommend it. Even if you don't live close by, it is worth the drive.

Fads like chili on everything only serve one purpose, to demolish traditional recipes to align with the now predominant "heat" in everything! We came to celebrate a birthday and have a nice dinner: mission accomplished! Started the evening with cocktails and S.pellegrino water as always. The "Knucklehead" cocktail is bourbon based with bitters and pear liqueur; I had to try the "I'll Guav Another" and Yes, I had another, it's very more-ish :) The service was excellent and our server was on point with descriptions of dishes and the continued service. The ambiance was very similar to restaurants back in Milano, noisy because people were chatting and having a good time. Thankfully there were no sports TV's close by making for a very pleasant evening out. I had the pasta alle vongole (clams) that was very tasty; I would have liked a bit less oil and fresh parsley on top, but I honestly ate the whole thing and even mopped up the lemon and white wine sauce with the crusty bread they served. We call it "fare la scarpetta" in Italian. The other diners had a chicken dish that looked good too but I didn't taste them, was too engulfed in my pasta... We had a really good meal, the company was great, and we left well sated. Will be back when on their side of town !

It came with grilled ciabatta, arugula, shaved red onion, and a Calabrian vinaigrette. The burrata was incredibly creamy and paired perfectly with the tomatoes, while the crunchy ciabatta added a wonderful contrast in texture. My husband chose the Sicilian meatballs, which were served over creamy polenta with rustic marinara and grana padano, also a very solid dish. For our entrees, we had the hot honey & smoked prosciutto pizza and the strozzapreti, a pasta dish with herb-roasted chicken, mushroom, spinach, parmesan cream, truffle, and pine nuts). Both were fantastic! The pizza nailed that sweet and savory flavor profile, and the crust was absolutely perfect. The strozzapreti was also delicious -- rich, creamy, and packed with mushroom and truffle flavor. Last time we visited the North Italia Phoenix location, the pasta was a bit too soft and lacked that proper al dente bite, but this time it was cooked flawlessly. Unfortunately, the desserts were a letdown. We tried the hazelnut torta and the tiramisu, but both were overwhelmingly sweet. The tiramisu tasted soggy, like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time instead of being freshly made, and the chocolate balls on top felt unnecessary and cheapened the dish. The service was also a bit of a mixed bag. Somehow our desserts were brought out before we had even finished our entrees. As a result, the ice cream on top of the hazelnut torta just sat there melting by the time we were ready for it. It made the end of the meal feel rushed, like they were trying to turn the table over quickly.

Most of the staff seemed unprofessional and uninterested, with the exception of one longtime waiter who has always been great. This place held a special place in my heart--it was my mother's favorite Italian restaurant and reminded us of New York-style dining. I came back hoping to give it another chance, but unfortunately, this visit confirmed that things haven't improved. I ordered pizza and wings, and I left concerned about the quality. It's truly disappointing to see a once-great restaurant fall to this level.
