    Spaghetti & meat sauce
    Joy G.

The only thing I would change about my last visit is the foam plates. I have no problem with disposables, but foam isn't really biodegradable. The food was great, though. I had spaghetti with meat sauce. Friend had ravioli. You could taste the love. Even the italian & ranch dressing on the salads were homemade. He told us that, but you could clearly taste it. The place was clean. The cashier & waitress were friendly. We didn't wait long for our food to come out. As we were eating, I noticed that a few regulars stopped by...that says something. Two things, actually...one is that the owner is real good at remembering his customers. Second is that the rest of the food has to be good if people "default" to this place. This place is far enough from the Walmart that *those* unsavory folk won't deter me from eating here again.

Crispy crust pizza and great wings! Family owned business super chill vibes. I was impressed by the speed of the service. I know it was a good spot when I saw a cop grabbing a calzone. They got the New York style pie correct. Cheese, dough, pepperoni and sausage. Perfecto!

    Eggplant sandwich and fries

I can't believe I've lived 2 minutes away for years and this is the first time visit to this gem. While waiting on a battery change service on my car I wandered over from the Walmart and saw Luna Pizza and a New Mexican restaurant on the corner. Lunas said they had sandwiches, which I preferred to a pizza and the New Mexican place advertised quesadillas birriria. I decided to go to the Mexican. Opened the door and saw they are still building out the place. It looks very nice! So, Lunad it was. The menu said they had eggplant sandwiches. I lived in Italy for 8 years, but an eggplant sandwiches is new to me. Ok, with fries. The cashier explained in detail how they build the eggplant sandwiches including how varied the texture is. It's great when the workers (probably owner! ) are so conversant about their products. Well, it was delivered to my table. It looked good (covered in cheese with a hidden ample dollop of marinara sauce in a quality submarine type bun. The sandwich was great from first bite. Enough for two people for sure! I had fries on the side. The fries here are Excellent. They have a very tasty coating and the perfect blend of outside crunch and soft inside. They have beer, but I am driving, so it was fountain rootbeer for me. One way I rate restaurants worldwide is by their restrooms. Luna exceeds in keeping the bathrooms pristine, smelling very pleasant and everything in perfect order. They spent a lot upgrading the bathrooms and it shows. I'm going to give them 10/10 stars...oh, and I notice that they have numerous awards for Best in Glendale. I look forward to my next visit!

This restaurant is phenomenal. A must try Italian restaurant. Everything is made fresh in house and I'm not joking when I say I haven't had pizza this good in a very long time! The chicken on the wings fall right off the bone and the sauce is insanely good! I highly recommend everyone and their mother gives Luna Pizza a try, you won't regret it!!

A great family run pizza and Italian place. Their wings are amazing too and the Large Pizza and 20 wings deal is great for a Friday dinner

Good NY style pizza. However, I thought the pepperoni roll was a bit light on the pepperoni and that's what I went there for.

The decor is a bit dark, but chic & colorful. Our server, Esmerelda, was fantastic: funny, attentive, polite. There was a guy there who seemed to be the Jack of all trades. He brought us our food, I saw him behind the bar, and even bussing tables. He, too, was friendly & smiley. Cocktails: they had a great selection but we went with plain ol' Cokes. That's okay, we'll partake of their boozy drinks when we visit again. Food: parmesan truffle fries were aah-mazing. I even told Esmerelda they should add a pizza with the garlic aioli. The buffalo mozzarella had a bit of a kick to the sauce; we could have used more toasted bread to dip into it. We ordered the heaven and bianca pizzas. The crust was thinner than normal, which I was happy about, and the flavors of both were delicious. Dessert: despite not finishing the appetizers & pizza (no worries, we thoroughly enjoyed the leftovers!), we opted for a gelato flight. It was divine, and hefty samples. You wouldn't think 4 oz was much, but of gelato, it was plenty. We selected chocolate, strawberry, salted caramel, and mango. If you haven't tried Roma 23, I highly recommend it. Even if you don't live close by, it is worth the drive.

When we did manage to get in, we ordered a glass of pinot noir and Pelligrino to drink. The waitress brought out a glass of white wine and insisted this was their pinot noir... even the bartender confirmed. So the staff is NOT wine savvy, I wouldn't trust their recommendations on pairings here either. They didn't have any Pelligrino left, so I ended up getting an arnold palmer. However, when they brought the check out, the Pelligrino was still on the tab and we had to ask them to take it off. We both got pasta, the lasagna and the chicken masala, and a caesar salad. The noodles tasted like it was made in house, which was nice. Chicken was not overly breaded and the sauce was light. The salad had too much cheese but I think some people just like that on their salad. I'm interested to try their pizza at some point in the future, assuming we can make it in time before they close ;)

Of course it was always during the day when they weren't open and it was quickly forgotten. Finally the universe brought us nearby while we were on our way to dinner to another restaurant and the lightbulb went off "what about that Italian place near XXXX" and the rest was history. My goodness are we happy we had that epiphany because we just found our new favorite Italian joint. First off the service was fantastic and that was all courtesy of Sal. He is very knowledgeable and just cool about everything he says and does. It's like you're having dinner at his house. He just wants you to have the best experience without any pressure because he knows the food will deliver. I know It's so annoying to ask for recommendations but he didn't seem bothered by it at all. In fact he encouraged it and after taking his recommendation i understand why he was so confident. This place is just so damn good. Starting with the bread, it was fresh, warm and delicious. We had the soup (tomato basil) and summer salad special which were both great. Onto the entrees, the lasagne bolognese and the eggplant parm with ravioli instead of the sautéed spinach as recommended by Sal. Both were so DELICIOUS. The eggplant parm was light and flavorful which the lasagne was dense but packed with so much goodness. It was a lot of food so we had to take most to go, which will be another 2-4 meals for us. We finished with a chocolate peanut butter mousse dessert which was the cheery in top of a great meal. I'm so happy fate brought us here. I can't wait to go back.

It came with grilled ciabatta, arugula, shaved red onion, and a Calabrian vinaigrette. The burrata was incredibly creamy and paired perfectly with the tomatoes, while the crunchy ciabatta added a wonderful contrast in texture. My husband chose the Sicilian meatballs, which were served over creamy polenta with rustic marinara and grana padano, also a very solid dish. For our entrees, we had the hot honey & smoked prosciutto pizza and the strozzapreti, a pasta dish with herb-roasted chicken, mushroom, spinach, parmesan cream, truffle, and pine nuts). Both were fantastic! The pizza nailed that sweet and savory flavor profile, and the crust was absolutely perfect. The strozzapreti was also delicious -- rich, creamy, and packed with mushroom and truffle flavor. Last time we visited the North Italia Phoenix location, the pasta was a bit too soft and lacked that proper al dente bite, but this time it was cooked flawlessly. Unfortunately, the desserts were a letdown. We tried the hazelnut torta and the tiramisu, but both were overwhelmingly sweet. The tiramisu tasted soggy, like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time instead of being freshly made, and the chocolate balls on top felt unnecessary and cheapened the dish. The service was also a bit of a mixed bag. Somehow our desserts were brought out before we had even finished our entrees. As a result, the ice cream on top of the hazelnut torta just sat there melting by the time we were ready for it. It made the end of the meal feel rushed, like they were trying to turn the table over quickly.
