I had been craving spaghetti for weeks so I found Doda's Pizza based on the stars here in Yelp. I'm glad I did!! This was in a plaza that I have driven past a million times. I would've never guessed such deliciousness would have been located there. We walked in hour before closing and the employees had the place looking pristine. They were kind and offered great suggestions. It reminded me of a good family pizza place it was just a little later in the evening so it was quiet. DO NOT go here if you expect the Dons under the old management!! It is NOTHING like it used to be. Ordered a pizza roll I used to get all the time. It was nothing like a pizza roll; it was three pounds of RAW dough! I initially thought it was mozzarella, but it had no taste. I then realized it was all a blob of uncooked dough! Ranch dressing was store bought crap; not the stuff they used to make. Husband said the garlic bread with cheese only had a small amount of the obviously cheap mozzarella they use now. Went to Don's NY Pizza earlier this week and it was super delicious the Cheese was very nice and tasty, salty and savory ... had the 14" pepperoni and sausage.. it was perfect... the crust was light and airy.. had the house salad as well - it was fresh and crisp.. you can tell they use fresh heads of lettuce instead of the bag kind places use to save money! I will say I will definitely go back for more.. can wait to try their sandwiches - hot and cold... ps.. I've been trying to come to this place for a while now, so glad I went. Since my last review, ownership has changed. While the quality of the pizza is still excellent, the delivery service has taken a hit. For reference, I live less than 5 minutes away from this location. Since the change, I've had an order be forgotten; I've had orders arrive extremely late (one almost an hour and a half late); and last time, my order arrived cold. The owner replaced the pizza and gave us a free bottle of soda with his apologies, and we gave them one more chance today. We were told 20 minutes, only for it to arrive 30 minutes past that time (due to the brand new driver getting lost). It wasn't hot, but warm enough to be appetizing. I really don't know what's going on with my favorite pizza place, but I'm really considering starting to make pizza at home from now on. read more

Twice in a row the pizza was below subpar for the price. $4 for each topping and there were literally like 10 sliced black olives, less than that with soggy (obviously not fresh) green peppers, and a Caesar salad (small) that was barely enough for a 10 year old. I used to love this place because it gave me a taste of home and is the closest NY style pizza that actually tatted good since Tocci's closed. This place is was my favorite pizza place and I hate writing negative reviews because life happens but here we go... Ordered a pizza to be ready by 3:01pm today. Showed up, young girl at the counter let me know it wasn't ready and they were backed up.... Okay life happens. I waited about 30 minutes and went to check on it and they said it would be ready soon and let me know when it's ready. Okay life happens... waiter another 20 minutes putting me at 50 minutes and they let me know it was being made and they would let me know when it's done. Okay life happens. Another 25 minutes went by putting me at an 1 hour 15 minutes or 4:16 pm when it was ordered to be picked up at 3:01pm. At least it was ready. Meanwhile the entire time I watched one man work making pizzas and about 5 people just standing around looking goofy. I watched every customer walk in, order and walk out with their food. They all kept checking on the food status as well and seemed upset meanwhile they all walked out long before me. The gentleman offered me a soda for my 1 hour 15 minute wait but I just feel like my time is worth more than that. Sadly this place lost a customer today as I sit here enjoying my last pizza from my favorite spot. And no one ever told me the pizza was ready after I watched the whole place clear out on my Saturday. Unacceptable. read more

We ordered a spread for the 2 of us because we eat like every day is our birthday. This little family-run place is near a Planet Fitness & ice cream shop. There's lots of parking. We dined inside. The seating is a little spaced out. They have Pepsi products for beverages. The food came out very quickly and was very hot. The fried zucchini was pretty standard with other places that have fried zucchini. No surprises and it was what I expected. The baby loved the garlic knots. The dough was fluffier than some places with garlic knots. Texturally it is very pleasing. I could handle a little more garlic flavor and salt/butter on it and then they would be perfect. I ordered the spicy chicken Alfredo and the garlic knots and side salad came with it. The salad was a fairly standard house side salad except I wasn't expecting olives. They probably had it listed somewhere and I wasn't paying attention. The ranch was not just squeezed out of a hidden valley bottle, so that was nice. It was thinner than some places with ranch but it's salad dressing so I really don't have a preference, except I wouldn't want it weirdly thick. The spicy chicken Alfredo was not spicy at all for me. I was hoping for more. The sauce kind of tasted like there was coconut milk in it, which I didn't really like that much. Idk if there was coconut milk but that's how my brain associated it. There was sausage and chicken as well as red onion and green peppers. I like meat so that was a nice surprise. Normally I don't go for Alfredo sauce but I saw another review that it was good so I thought I'd step outside of my normal food pattern. Nah bruh. It wasn't my favorite. (It wasn't "gross" it just wasn't what I was looking for in an Alfredo sauce.) And to be fair, it's possible they didn't hear me say "spicy" because I was speaking quieter than I normally do. Now for the pizza, we took it home, but the box was so big it didn't fit in either of my fridges. So it was a HUGE pizza. The crust was thin and couldn't handle the weight of the toppings. It was good, def not "the best" but definitely not "the worst". I felt like the pizza sauce was missing something, maybe some oregano. Toppings were generous. Four stars bc the workers were really friendly. The baby even said it to me too. They have tiramisu and I didn't order it and now I wish I did. I had to go up & ask were her food was, " we're working on it". We wanted some pasta and no cooking was happening on our end so we called up Dons for a pickup order. The guy that answered was super friendly and our order was ready within 15 minutes. The price is the pastas and the amount of food you get is an awesome deal. You get a side salad loaded with goodies and 4 garlic knots per meal. We got spaghetti with meat sauce and spaghetti with sausage. There was lots of garlic which we love and plenty of sauce for the pasta. Now this isn't gourmet Italian food but it satisfied the craving and everyone loved it! We have had the pizza from here in the past which was good as well. Perfect neighborhood pizza joint. I came here for a late lunch and it was still surprisingly busy. I soon found out why. From the moment I stepped in you immediately get the mom and pop shop feel. They were polite and expedient while taking my order, and I went with the lunch deal which was a soda, slice of cheese pizza, and 6 hot wings for 10 bucks. The pizza was that perfect New York slice combo where it flops over when you hold it but the crust is golden brown and sings if you scraped the bottom of it. Sauce and cheese were also both on point. It's nice to see that they put so much effort into a lunch slice. The wings had a decent size and had a good crunch that gave me the indication they were probably deep fried. Buffalo hot was classic they didn't stray at all from the flavor we all know. Highly recommend. I can't think of many better neighborhood pizza shops on the westside. read more
