I'm really sorry to leave this review, but I feel it's necessary. This used to be one of the best Italian restaurants in the Valley, but over the past couple of years, the quality has clearly declined. The food no longer tastes the same--on my recent visit, it was cold--and the overall cleanliness was very disappointing. The tables were dirty, the carpets looked unkempt, and the seating was worn and torn. Service has also gone downhill. Most of the staff seemed unprofessional and uninterested, with the exception of one longtime waiter who has always been great. This place held a special place in my heart--it was my mother's favorite Italian restaurant and reminded us of New York-style dining. I came back hoping to give it another chance, but unfortunately, this visit confirmed that things haven't improved. I ordered pizza and wings, and I left concerned about the quality. It's truly disappointing to see a once-great restaurant fall to this level. I hope management takes this seriously--there's a real need for better cleanliness, improved food quality, and more attentive service. read more

To go order last night was really not good. Garlic bread not only got soft and smooshy before we could eat but it was smashed into a pan so deformed as well! French fries all soggy! Italian hoagie was the worst! My fav sandwich dry with the end scraps of the onion on it ‍. I couldn't even bite through them. Had to spit out! Poor to go trays is one thing but putting what should've been trash and no dressing on the sandwich is inexcusable! Bread was not good either! ruined impromptu bday dinner! So, so disappointed and disgusted!! This is the 2nd time we've been cheated...once eating in and now once in a to go order! I stopped by Anzios Italian Restaurant for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Located in not the best part of town, I didn't have much trouble finding a spot in their complimentary lot. After walking in, I was seated at a table. Ambiance (3.5/5): Anzios tries to recreate the Italian experience through Tuscan, rustic decor. The thing is, they're all decals. So, while it's fake, the restaurant doesn't look bad. And it does take things up a notch from your typical neighborhood Italian restaurant. There are tables, booths, and a few tables at the bar. Service (4.5/5): It took me quite a while to be greeted after I was seated. To the point that I had decided both what I was going to eat and drink, and was starting to get bored. Luckily, the waitress apologized for the wait, and after that, she was friendly and attentive. Really, everyone I interacted with fit the bill. My waitress did the little things to make up for it. She brought me a refill before I asked. She was efficient. And she grabbed the WiFi password for me when I asked. All in all, pretty much everything I expect in a service experience. Drinks (N/A): I had a strawberry lemonade, so not a lot to write home about. They do have a full bar, but I didn't pay a lot of attention to the list as I was there solo on a Wednesday evening. The strawberry lemonade was good though. There were small pieces of strawberry in there, and it was just the right level of sweetness. Most places like Anzios just have your typical soft drinks. Anzios takes it up a notch. Food (3/5): I started off with the toasted ravioli appetizer which was a tale of two cities. You can either do the cheese, meat, or combo ravioli. I went with the combo as I love both. The cheese ravioli was delicious. The melted cheese inside paired so nicely with the fried ravioli and the flavorful marinara dipping sauce (served warm). On the other hand, the meat ravioli were overcooked and dry. Good portion size though. For my entree, I did the combination platter which comes with three of their most popular dishes: lasagna, fettucini alfredo, and chicken parm. Plus, your choice of a house or Caesar salad and garlic bread or French bread. I went with the house salad which comes with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, and your choice of dressing. I chose Italian. The salad wasn't as fresh as I would have hoped. As far as my combo, the chicken parm was my favorite. The chicken cutlet was crispy and there was melted cheese on top. On the other hand, the fettucini Alfredo was lackluster and tasted like something I could make with store bought cheap pasta sauce. The Alfredo sauce lacked flavor. The lasagna was so-so. So, as you can tell, some dishes are a hit and some are a miss. The garlic bread was good, and when you take it all together, it was a lot of food. I was stuffed and still had leftovers. I would give Anzio's a second chance. Maybe you just have to know what to order. read more

First time at Anzios Italian. I used to frequent Anzios Landing at Falcon Field. Stopped in for a Saturday Lunch at 11:30. We ordered the Mozzarella Cheese Sticks, side salads, Alfredo Fettuccini, and Scollops and Pasta with a spicy chipotle sauce. We had a new server who was very good. The salad was excellent as was the pasta dish. Had four scallops on my pasta dish which were tasty. We also had garlic bread. Service was excellent, old school ambiance. Would have liked to see a couple of additional scollops or shrimp on my dish. Otherwise the pasta dish by itself would be fine. Overall a good dining experience. read more

Stopped in for dinner. I am going to say hands down this is the best Italian restaurant on the North side of town. I had lobster and cheese stuffed Ravioli in a rich vodka cream sauce. Wait, it gets better. I had hot bread with it to make sure no sauce would go to waste. For Desert, I got a slice of cheesecake with fresh strawberries that was big enough for two. If you are on this side of the tracks, I encourage you to try this place for pizza, pasta, sandwiches and more. read more

Food was yummy and normally go to always adding protein to our pata but after coming here next time I go back the Alfredo sauce and noodles just by it self is so yummy.. I am not Italian but hey this Alfredo sausage is so good.. service was slow, and took a moment even to just order water or a drink! But where the service lacks the food made up for it all.. definitely would go back I still have the flavors running in my mind because it was good. So if you want yummy food and can look past OK service not great the food is good and worth going back.. the restaurant is a nice chill place and it wasn't so busy but maybe it was just a slow day and mate workers were tired. Came here for lunch on a Thursday and let me just say... Ooooomg. The shrimp linguine was absolutely buttery bliss in a bowl. I'm not even going to pretend to care about calories! The sauce was so good I found myself spooning it straight into my mouth at the end. I would have licked the bowl clean, but I like to think I have at least a shred of decency left. If you're debating what to order, stop right now and get the shrimp linguini. Comfort, indulgence, and happiness all twirled together on a fork. This place is a gem. read more

Ok so.... If you're hungry for made to order authentic Italian food.... You have come to the correcto place!! Perfect red sauce, amazing alfredo sauce, and buttery garlic bread is always hot and fresh. I'd recommend the trio so you can try their sauces. Anzio's is one of my son's favorite restaurants and so I continue to go here but the quality is still fair at best. The best items are the fried zucchini (the only way my son will eat veggies, LOL), the garlic bread, and the brownie sundae. There is absolutely NO ambiance here -- not even any elevator music, kinda depressing. Also the place kind of smells like dirty towels, and my pizza also kind of tasted like dirty towels too. The service was good and the server was very friendly -- I felt bad for her when the table next to us was complaining about their food. Long time patron of this restaurant. I'm not a fan of the pizza but many people are, I'm just picky because I'm Italian and this just doesn't quite make it for me but hey, I'm just one guy. Now for the good stuff. The wings, whether it's bone in or boneless are very good, especially the bone in. The garlic bread is by far the best. You can tell how good they are by the way your partner will turn their head when you try to talk to them after eating one, garlic, garlic, garlic. Salads are good and the service is fantastic. We had a party of nine and we planned on meeting at two pm. Some of us got there early, we didn't have a reservation so we out our name in and were told it would be a while as they were full with some large parties. Tons of people exited by the time our party was assembled. I didn't really tour the place so I can't say much about my visit. We ordered many items, pizza, salad, bread, pasta, fried zucchini, and a sandwich. After lunch we also got some desserts, tiramisu, cinnamon bread, and chocolate cake. There were no complaints. Been coming to Anzios for a long time and the food is great. The staff are amazing and there's nothing bad on the menu. It always gets a 4-star rating in my book. We came on a Sunday and it must have been an off-day. We got there after the lunch rush and things seemed off. The service was slow, and the meals came out sporadically (there were 7 of us) and the minestrone soup seemed mushy and overcooked. The salmon pasta special was good but the veggies on the side needed some seasoning. Overall this is still a great place to come for good home cooking Italian food. You get plenty of leftovers and their garlic bread is always delicious too. read more

A long time customer that had another poor experience. I've always enjoyed the food and friendly servers. Recently went in for a late lunch, about 2pm. About 10 people dining at the time. Couldn't believe the amount of debris over the dining room floor. Had many items from the menu over the years, tried the hot beef sub. If you're charging over 14 bucks for a sandwich ala carte, give me a sandwich! It was embarrassing to say the least. read more

MEATBALLS! The meatballs are awesome! I also had a salad which was very good! Their homemade ranch dressing is the best I've had. I highly recommend the meatballs! While you could get a choice of pasta with them I opted for no pasta. We were promptly seated. The staff was friendly and the service was fast! I will be back! read more

Updated review. I went again and nothing to add except some photos. The food was just okay. The Ravioli and sauce tasted very bland and canned. Serving was large to take home for another meal. The salad was small. Soup versus salad is a choice too which I did not get. The crowd was older.it was crowded packed with a wait time. Go early. The place is cutely decorated which I did not notice last time being in a party back room. Service was shared and outstanding. Mini cannolli was okay but nothing to write yelp home about. Stumbled upon Anzios thanks to Yelp, and let me tell you--this place is a *diamond in the rough* Walking in felt like stepping into a Fellini film, but with fewer clowns and more cannoli. checkered tables, vintage Sinatra crooning, and enough Chianti bottles to build a Tuscan castle. The dining room is ok, the waiter was slow but it was pretty busy and we didn't mind. The food just was ok. I got the trio combination platter. I don't recommend any of the 3 items. The tomato sauce was tasteless except it was sweet. The chicken parm was dry. The fettuccine Alfredo wasn't authentic, had a cream sauce that most people associate with Alfredo sauce. ADDED COMMENT- Okay, now I wish I could give ten stars. I didn't make it for dinner but went again for lunch. I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. It was fantastic. But the extra five stars that I would have if given if I could was for the Zuppa Toscana. Every single time I order soup anywhere, the temperature is non-existent. It's always just lukewarm and that just makes soup taste gross. And I am a mega soup lover, of all kinds. For me, the temperature can make or break a place. Here it was piping hot. I was able to eat the whole thing while it was still hot, versus it being ice cold by the time i'm done. Honestly, this is a huge plus plus for me. ORIGINAL- I know they have been there for a very long time, but I have never stopped in. Yesterday, after a wonderful day of volunteering, it was at the new veterans facility. I went with a new friend for lunch. I had the personal pan pizza, mushroom and black olives, and it was delicious. She had the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and it looked perfect. I wish I would have ordered it. Service was great. Staff is incredibly attentive. They came by often. The place has a nice Family Italian feel to it. Anzio's is accessible and visible. It is on the West side of 28th Dr. If you turn onto 28th Dr. from Cactus Rd. it will be on your left. The actual restaurant is set back from the road. Yelp at this time has 21 pictures of the exterior. You can get a look at it before you go. The lunch menu is different from the dinner. You will find it on the back of the main menu. If you are part of a party (8), Anzio's adds an 18% gratuity. There were 18 lunch entries. They included salad. The portions were generous, the sauce thick and full flavored. One dish offered three types of ravioli. You can have just one type or any two. They were meat, Florentine and cheese. In addition, they served garlic bread. Unfortunately, it arrived a little late. It was hot and fresh however. Plan a trip to the bathrooms. There are pictures of statutes and some signs in the hallway. The area is clean. It is also well lighted. If you are with a group (8) they tack am 18% gratuity charge. You pay that instead of a tip. Lunch at Enzo's is very pleasant. There is no music, so it a great place for conversation and a casual lunch. read more

Great food, large menu and seating to accommodate groups, and excellent service! We have done takeout and dine in here and have had really great experiences. For takeout, I had a bizarre request for them to spell something out on a pizza (as a celebration for someone!) When I asked, I didn't think they would do it but I figured it was worth a shot. Sure enough, when I came to pick it up, I was greeted by a few of the staff who wanted to say hello and ask me about the celebration. It was really nice and the pizza came out great! I am grateful for their kitchen staff for humoring me and going above and beyond! We have had dinner here with friends and that was also a great time! The server did a great job of checking on us, but at the same time, knew that we wanted to talk and catch up and we never felt rushed! This is especially important to me when I dine out with friends! So I'm very pleased with their customer service! My only wish is they would include more wines! They were somewhat limited in their selection. I haven't been here in a while but brought my family here as we were all back in town and the service is no where near as good as it used to be. The server was forgetful of things we asked for and told us things were out of stock after we had been waiting for about 20-30 minutes for our food. Went on Saturday evening about 6. Restaurant was packed, so we (3) sat at the bar to eat. We ordered pizza; while we waited we ordered wine and chatted, the bartender was busy, but friendly and stopped now and then to chat. So did any other server picking up food or drink. Pizza came - BEST PIZZA EVER! Medium Deluxe. Lovely stringy cheese, plenty of meat and vegetables, silky sauce and the crust was heavenly. Not too thick or too thin and very tasty so we didn't feel inclined to leave crust on the pan. Super experience for my out of town guests! read more

This place did not disappoint! For being in the location (right next to strip corridor) and looking like a classic place, also walking in it was feeling more like a casual mom/pop shop, the food was great! We walked in on a Thursday evening at 7 (they do close at 8) and didn't have to wait to be seated, but it was busy and packed in the parking lot. Came with my guy friend with an appetite so we were excited after reading some reviews. You get an offering of garlic bread with parmesan sprinkled on top with each order and it is extra buttery, and just the right amount of crispy toastedness, and it is GOOD. We decided on two pasta dishes with recommendation from our server and they were both large, creamy, and quite delicious. The service was great, our server was extra positive and happy (she genuinely seemed to enjoy working there) and she was attentive to our table, drinks, and was ready to offer us anything else we may need. The cannolis were great, mine was a little more crispy than I like but the flavors were delicious and the inside stuffing was really good. I'd return if I have an appetite for a big meal... and next time I'll try their tiramisu or one of their cinnamon breads (she said they were large so I couldn't, unfortunately). I'm surprised that none of the reviews talk about the area where this restaurant is located. It is not in a very nice part of town at all, as we were driving in there was a lot of homeless people and people who looked like they were drug addicts. It was really bad to the point where I thought maybe we should hard pass on this restaurant. However, we decided to go in and give it a try and wow, Definitely not what I expected inside! it's a very nice restaurant, it was clean and well taken care of. Our server ILSE was great, she was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. I happen to make the wrong choice when I ordered my meal and she kindly returned it to the kitchen for me. My husband ordered the spicy shrimp linguine and he really enjoyed it. We ended up, sharing his dish, and we were both happy with it. read more
