Don't ask for anything special! You will get what they serve you here! Plain and simple, ask for pizza and get pizza! That's it! Undercooked, overcooked, doesn't matter this place will just make what they want! So if you want pizza the way someone feels like cooking go here! Good or bad you pay for the food they serve! After ten years of coming here and buying my dough from Ray the new owners won't allow it. This is how I know the new owners aren't from NY. Rays pizza is in a dead shopping center. I drive past here a lot I've been waiting to try Rays pizza for while now. Yes it's good pizza for a cheese 1/2 pepperoni. It doesn't really remind me of NY pizza it reminds me of a pizza shop in Cali. I'm from Jersey and NY so I do know my pizza very well. It's close but NY pizza is all about the dough at the water in the dough. Lol I ordered an eggplant parm sandwich and it was actually pretty amazing it was filled with meaty eggplant just the right about of cheese and sauce. Points do go down bc you don't get any side just a sammie and it's over priced you can get an eggplant parm with fires for $8 in NY.. just saying. We also go wings they could of been done a tad longer the skin was still soggy. But the medium sauce was pretty great and the wings were good. So here is why we don't get 5 stars it's soooo over priced. I want some bomb NY pizza for that price and that price is way to much. Like it is good pizza for our area and I would get that eggplant parm every day if I could bc that was soooo great. read more

Ordered a large pizza and 20 wings, in which I asked them to be extra saucy and crispy. Went to pick up my order and was greeted with an attitude from the girl at the front. I then opened up my wings to find they were neither crispy nor saucy. I then asked the lady up front for extra sauce but she seemed very annoyed that I interrupted her conversation with another employee. I was also given two small things of ranch that weren't even halfway filled. Horrible. read more

OK so I live in New York where they have the best pizza I've tasted true Italian Sicilian pizza from the Brooklyn, Manhattan little Italy etc... my mom suggests place in Ray's Pizza from New York it was pretty good the crust is light and flaky it was a slight greasy & gave me & my daughter massive heartburn but it was really good.The only thing I would take away from the stars is the pizza was not cut all the way I had to cut it with my own pizza cutter when I got home besides that it's a decent New York style pie. read more

I'd been craving pizza for a week straight when I just caved and ordered online from Ray's. It was pretty easy to just pick my pizza, set up a time to pick it up, and pay for it online. Yay! I went with the white garden pizza which had tomato, spinach, garlic, and ricotta and the fried mushrooms and scheduled to pick it them a couple hours later, closer to dinner time. Dropped by around that time and was able to grab my order quickly, but was somewhat disappointed because the pizza was lukewarm. I only had a 5 minute drive in order to grab the food so I doubt it cooled significantly on my drive back, but that was a slight letdown. Lukewarmness aside, the pizza itself was delicious and I definitely gobbled up everything including the crust. The fried mushrooms were a super yummy appetizer as well! This review is for management/owner of Rays Pizza. I've been enjoying Rays Pizza for about two decades. The last handful of times have been less than enjoyable the new counter girl who is tall and brunette curly hair. Her customer service skills are very poor. The last time I ordered from here Which was about two months, maybe three months ago this very same person took my order and it was incorrect I called to let them know that it was incorrect and she told me she would remake my chicken wings, which were not correct. She never told me there was an expiration date apparently Your credit is only good for 30 days I informed her that she was the one who took my order incorrectly. She agreed she still had it written down somewhere she read me the date and the order and said I was past due, and there was nothing she could do about it, not even a discount and was short and unremorseful so if you go to Ray's be aware of the girl with the Resting B FACE sincerely disappointed.... read more

Very good pizza. Excellent. The inside of this restaurant is much nicer than the outside. And the product outshines both.

This place is fairly popular as it took them a long time to take our order. I wish the wings specified that it had buffalo sauce because it didn't make the wings taste good. The pizza was very delicious. The buttered bread was fantastic. This is a great place for some very good pizza. read more

I have been coming to this location for over twenty years and have always given this place, five stars! But in the last 6 months, I feel like The quality of food has gone down, the portions Have gotten smaller The prices have gone way up And that I understand. But the .most Disturbing factor is the Demeanor And the disposition Of the young lady that works the counter on most days , Like take it or leave it if you don't like it ! It's just very sad I enjoyed coming here at least twice a week but I will not be coming back anymore. They mess up your order and then when you complain about it and ask them to make it again , then They come off as they're doing you a favor. It's just a big shame. I ordered a pizza at 8:30 tonight 10/8/24. I ordered a medium pepperoni pizza with four ranches. Young lady over the phone told me to be there before nine because they close at nine. I got there at 8:50 got my pizza and drove home. I just now got home at 9. And my pizza is half pepperoni, half cheese when I ordered a pepperoni. Also I did not get any of the four ranches that I paid for...They're already closed So I'm unable to call back. This is the first issue I've had with this location they are usually Spot on With their service. I'm not sure if it's because it's close to nine and they were in a rush to get out of there. Also, I honestly should've checked the pizza in the store before walking out. But it sucks getting home and realized I didn't get what I ordered. I still need to verify this is NY style pizza by going to NY. I will edit my review if and when I go. That being said, it is a nice mom and pop pizza place. It's really the only business that has been in the Greenway Plaza for a long time that I can remember. Maybe the Thai place next door has been there too, but I've never been. (Famous) Ray's pizza has a few other locations and I also recommend the one in Norterra. The employees there were nice and greeted us when we walked in. The pizza is made to order (usually whole pizzas) though you can order slices and they have hot wing combos with a drink. The locations I've visited seem family owned, so you get positive vibes by supporting local businesses. There's a QT going in next door, so I hope that doesn't compete for their slice of the pie(pun intended). All the best to Ray's from this pizza enjoyer. read more

Ray's isn't what it used to be. Ordered a pizza and wings... the pizza was simultaneously raw dough and burned outer crust... in other words, entirely inedible. The wings must have been hummingbird wings. Guess I should have specified that we wanted *chicken* wings! Our order of 12 only had 11 of the tiniest, most pathetic wings you've ever seen. LITERALLY small enough to be almost entirely obscured by the one ranch they did manage to include in the order (We ordered and got charged for an extra ranch, but didn't get it). This is the third time we've had really poor food and service (management refused to do anything to make it right). We won't be going back to Rays. read more

I was dying for a slice. Not a whole pie, just a slice. At the time, this 59th Ave location was the closest. Now, I got good news and I got bad news. The bad news is, this Rays is in a shopping center that is basically vacant. And it is desolate. The good news, THIS IS THE LAST RAYS THATS WORTHWHILE. I got a slice with mushrooms, and was so deceivingly hot I burned my mouth badly. Damn pizza stuck to my mouth). Not their fault. Delicious pizza. $2.50 for the slice...beautiful. Ray' has really really good pizza!! I was very happy with it. One, because they had pizza by the slice. That's hard to find. 2 that the restaurant is actually owned and operated by Italians!! Amazing! You go to Chinese/Japanese restaurants. Italian restaurants. Seafood and American food restaurants and they're usually all run, cooked and served by Mexicans. I'm not being "racist" it's not racist to use the word Mexican. No more than saying Italians or Chinese, so do not say or think that. I am merely stating what I see. It doesn't mean I don't like them or anything. It's just the majority of restaurants hire them. I mean great. Good for them and the workers. This restaurant was run and food was made by Italians. It's great only because Italians know Italian food! Period. My favorite food is Mexican food and of course, they're usually run, owned and made by Mexicans. So, the pizza was very good. Better than most. The crust was the big deal. Usually crust looks dry and brown. Usually it's not crunchy either, but if it is, it's a crunch like cardboard would crunch if you break it. Their crust was crunchy from using oil. As if baked, but then finished in olive oil. That crunch was unreal. You could taste the oil and oil from the sauce. It was truly delicious. The vegetables were tender and when you take a bite, the toppings and cheese etc., doesn't all slide off the crust. It bites off perfectly!! It was tender, but like I said, the crust was golden and crunchy. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars, was because I couldn't taste the sauce. The sauce needs to be more forthcoming. I always enjoy the hot food whether it's the cheese steak or pizza or chicken parm but not a major fan of their salads. They're warm /wilted and ready to expire when they arrive.
