Took my fiance here for his 40th birthday last night. Our server name was William. He and the owner came an greeted up. Next the presentation of the shots of Don Julio was amazing. After talking to him we found out he used to work in Cancun (hence to why presentation was on point). We had salads for appetizers. I had the mixed green salads with feta, olives and walnuts the vinergarette dressing was awesome! Followed by the short ribs with mash potatoes and Veges. Then on to entrée. We had the gamberi and pescatori. Omg when I say it was absolutely to die for it was. The pasta was home made everything was fresh, favorable and well presented. We sat outside it was a beautiful night. We never were forgotten and checked on periodically. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good authentic Italian food in downtown concord. Good selection of wines and cocktails. If you go you will be blessed to have the waiter William. This man is above excellence. Great time and definitely will be returning. We just had a great experience at Luna Restaurant for a family celebration of life for our father. The owner, Habib, was most gracious and accommodating. He invited my wife Vycelka in before the event to sample his food and prepare a menu. We ended up with a three course lunch menu that provided a great variety of choices and was reasonably priced. Fifteen showed for the lunch. All the food was outstanding. We had a choice of two salads, or soup. Three entrees: Chicken Marsala; salmon in a light sauce with vegetables and mashed potatoes; and raviolis. Two delicious deserts topped everything off. The tiramisu was especially light and delectable. Louisa provided excellent service and Chef Victor prepared everything to our liking. Habib was "hands on" and right there with us the whole time. Whether you are a couple on a date or a larger group like ours, you cannot go wrong with Luna Restaurant. read more

Oh Luna, you sure know how to impress now don't you?! Had an absolutely fabulous time basking in this Italian delight. I had been here before but it's been a few years, and now I'm wondering why it took me so long to come back. This is such a neighborhood gem! It's tucked away on a side street within Todos Santos Plaza right next to Starbucks. I came here after having a long day at work, and this was the perfect way to unwind and end the evening. The ambience is amazing here. It's small but intimate with low lighting, soft music, and white table cloth covered tables. It was surprisingly busy for a weekday night and my server was really busting his tail to get to everyone. Service was a little slow understandably, but when I did see my server, he was really exceptional. Everything on their menu sounded incredible! I finally decided to go with the Pescatore which consists of practically all of the most delicious seafood that your little heart could ever desire. Clams, mussels, tiger shrimp, salmon, and halibut are all that will grace this dish in abundance. This dish is traditionally served in tomato lobster sauce over risotto, but unfortunately they had just of the rice. My server asked if a linguine substitute would work and I agreed. I actually feel like the linguine might suit this dish even more than the risotto. First off, the seafood tasted incredibly fresh. You would have thought that they had just caught everything that day! That's how fresh everything tasted. Portions were ample and a steal for the price and quality. My plate arrived piping hot and I watched as the steam fogged up my glasses while I took my first bite. It's always a good sign when there's steam coming from the plate. The linguine noodles were nice and tender, and the seafood was seasoned to perfection. I absolutely adored the tomato lobster sauce and I felt that it complemented everything perfected. I'm a carboholic, so no Italian meal will ever be complete without bread, olive oil, and vinegar. Of course they gave me the goodies and I happily devoured all of it. I paired my pasta with a nice fruity Zinfandel that I brought from home (they have a $20 corkage fee which is fair for this type of ambience). I was fully prepared to pay the corkage fee but my server ended up waiving it as compensation for the slow service. It was honestly such a nice surprise and unnecessary on his part, but I was very grateful for this. Needless to say, I killed the entire bottle while I was there (hey, don't judge me! I'm wino with a high tolerance level *wink wink*). Last but not least; the vanilla crème brulee! Hubba hubba!!! It tasted FANTASTIC! It was torched to perfection with that lovable hardened sugar top, and it was filled with creamy vanilla crème. The mint, blackberry, and powdered sugar garnish just sealed the deal for me. Such a tasty dessert that had me wanting more even though I was stuffed to the max and couldn't even finish my meal. In the end, I was left full, happy, and completely satisfied. 5 big stars are being awarded to this awesome little neighborhood gem. I'm already daydreaming about my next visit. read more

Impromptu date night on Monday. Our order: mussels in tomato sauce, fettuccine bolognese and crab ravioli. Starting sourdough was warm to touch, delicious when dipped in the tomato cream sauce that the mussels were steamed with. The mussels alone did not leave a lasting impression. In summary, the flavor profile was supported by excess sodium. I drank so much water to curb my thirst after the meal. Other than that, the crab flavor came through strong in every bite of the ravioli, demonstrating the restaurant's use of quality ingredients. Not sure I tasted the Cajun though. I was expecting meat sauce/marinara with my fettuccine, and I got a dish that should be named fettuccine and meatballs; I digress. The meatballs could use a little more meat. I would highly recommend the restaurant to provide freshly shaved parm and freshly ground black pepper, these two simple ingredients would elevate the experience so much more. As there weren't many other patrons dining at the same time, the service was quick and attentive... to the point where we felt somewhat rushed. Overall, this restaurant is average among options around Todos Santos. I may consider returning when I am in the neighborhood and craving Italian. read more

Ohh my gooodness! I was craving pasta all day & I decided to doordash them. I have always walked passed this place for years but never tried it. Well yesterday I ordered 2 different pasta, the bread & cheese cake. Let me tell you the pasta literally fullfilled my craving. Portions are big, i was able eat half for dinner & half for lunch todau. I haven't even the other pasta yet. Im excited to eat it when my boyfriend is ready to eat his. The bread was soo good, i only ate 3 pieces. Honestly recommend the pasta and the apps. The cheesecake is a little pricey for $12 a slice but if it taste sooo mind blowing its worth it. I didnt have room to try it yet. I cant wait to eat there in person because if my food was good doordashed, i cant imagination how it would be fresh out of the kitchen. read more

I love this place. I first tried them via door dash at the start of the pandemic and the food was great so you can assume in person it's even better and wasn't disappointed. First the staff was super friendly and I was coming home from an excursion with my family and it was late I think an hour before they closed. I know most places don't seat if there's only an hour left but thought I ask or if we could order to go and the staff said of course come on in. So friendly and def made the meal even better. Their Gamberi pasta with the creamy parm sauce is to die for. So good and the shrimp aren't over cooked. The pesto is delicious and fresh, the goat cheese garlic bread YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR LIFE and the lasagna ooofff so good. It's great to have such a great place to eat so close to home. This is my go to Italian restaurant!! Great food, portions, and prices are pretty responsible. The staff is so friendly and accommodating in explaining dishess and allowing substations to ensure your dish is perfect. Having lived in Italy, I can say that the food is very authentic if not better (probably due to Californi's abundant produce and meat selection) Luna is certainly comparable to restaurants in SF's North Beach Little Italy neighborhood. I just returned home after a very disappointing experience at Luna Restaurant in Concord. We had been to Luna several times and always had a great experience. Tonight, unfortunately, was different. We went to Luna with another couple. We had a great waiter, Juan. He was fast efficient, and personable. However, when the bill came the other couple questioned a $12 charge for goat cheese bread. Juan said that when he first came over to the table he asked if "I could start you off with some goat cheese bread and you said yes."My friend said that he thought bread was included in the meal and Juan said that the regular bread was include-- not the goat cheese bread. My friend if the bread charge could be taken off the bill total, Juan said "the manager has gone home for the day and that his code did not allow for items to be taken off the bil. He then said that he would mention it to the manager tomorrow so that it won't happen the next time we come there. I was shocked to hear this response. I figured I should check my bill (we had separate checks) just to see if we had anything similar on our bill. I noticed that my entree was $6 more on the bill than it was on the menu. My wife's entree was $2 more on the bill than on the menu. When I questioned this I was told that I was "looking at an old menu." This is the menu that he had given us at the start of our meal.And, again, he would discuss this with his manager tomorrow and make sure it wouldn't happen the next time we were there." I don't know if this is a common occurrence at this restaurant but I was quite disappointed and felt as if we had been taken advantage of. I wanted to share my experience so that other potential customers should know the possibility of this happening to them. We will not return to Luna after being treated this way. read more

SO happy we found Luna Italian! Our table had the pesto pasta, veal and mista salad. The pesto dish was delicious, the sauce was fantastic, penne pasta was perfect and the sun dried tomatoes were a nice sweet flavored touch to the entree. The veal was cooked perfectly and served with cooked veggies. The mista salad was very good and I'll definitely be ordering it again. The service is unmatched. Truly. Even on a somewhat busy night, we had a total of 3 wait staff helping us. Our drinks were always full, the bread basket was flowing and we really felt taken care of. Just made the 3-star cut - but in all fairness, this was a take-out order as I know a lot of Italian Restaurants certainly add ambiance to the dining experience. Still, the food matters. Fiore Ravioli - Crab and artichoke filled in a cajun cream sauce with tomatoes. This was on their special plate menu and it sounded so good so I ordered it but it turned out too salty with the broth - even with bread neutralizing the flavors, it was too much for me. Linguini Vongole - I'm just guessing the name here because I couldn't find it on the menu, so bonus points to them for accommodating the pasta with clams. Unfortunately, the clams were very small and noodles sparse - good broth though for dipping bread into. Fettuccine Pomodoro - big, bold, super garlicky (yes!), with perfectly cooked al dente fettuccine. The sauce is on the heavy side and really drowns out the noodles, so buyer beware - but if tomatoes and pasta is what you want, then this is your dish. read more

Exemplary service and food. The Salmon Modomio, Mushroom Soup, and Pesto Pasta were out of this world. I have never had such amazing Italian food elsewhere. All the staff were super kind and funny-- their bright personalities made the food taste even better. You could tell they are hardworking as they are all very active around the restaurant with other customers. They do their best to cater to all their customers' needs even during a busy environment. The atmosphere feels semi-romantic with all the music and happy chatter that fill the room. Everyone, including the staff, is there to have a good time and exchange laughs while enjoying eating / cooking outstanding food. I highly recommend dining at this place whenever you have the chance, the food is out of this world and some of the most amazing you will ever have. The food is made fresh, and you will be able to tell since their plates and platters are NOT BLAZING hot like they would be from a microwave. :) The staff truly care about the place just as much as they care about you. They even gave me and my friend one of their delicious cakes (I did not get to ask what it was) on the house since we drove quite far to dine in at their restaurant. We went to Luna on a recent Thursday evening. We had the Caesar Salad and Minestrone for our appetizers. The salad was served with almost no dressing. We had to flag down our server to get more dressing. The minestrone was a very light veggie broth with a few pieces of anelloni (small, short tubes of pasta). No beans or any other starch. The "Diet Coke" that was ordered turned out to be "Diet Pepsi" which I don't like because (IMHO) it is too sickeningly sweet. Usually a waiter will alert the diner that they have "Pepsi, not Coke. Is that okay?" because the taste of the two drinks are so different. The waiter asked if we wanted dipping sauce with our bread. We said yes. They forgot to deliver the bread. We had to remind him after the salad and soup were served. He remembered to deliver the sauce after being reminded and it was finally delivered to our table after we had finished the bread. On our tab, we realized that we had been charged $4 but had not seen it as an ala carte item on the menu, assuming that it would be free. (Most other restaurants provide that for free.) My wife had ordered the lasagna. After about 15 minutes after ordering, the waiter returned to tell us that they didn't have it available that night. We both ended up getting the Chicken Marsala. Unfortunately, the chicken was tough; tough enough so that I could not easily cut it with the knife provided. I ended up having to pull it apart with my fork and knife. Neither of us finished the chicken. Altogether, this was not a very fun evening. We had come to rely on Luna for a solid dining experience, so this was quite a disappointment. read more

Luna's made for a perfect date night dinner at home! All the food we ordered came hot and fresh. Let's cut to the chase on what we ordered. Chicken Pesto Penne: It was a little liquidy for my taste and the little chicken pieces were overcooked. But there wasn't that much chicken to begin with. Maybe just grill up the chicken separately, slice it and place it on top? Might travel better. This was the least favorite but the flavor was still pretty decent especially when we dipped the bread in. Gamberi: This was the favorite of the night! Well seasoned, creamy, and delicious. Goat Cheese Garlic Bread: This was a pleasant surprise as we actually noted on DoordDash to please remove the goat cheese but it came with it anyway. Since we paid for it, we decided to try it and it was pretty good! Still a little pungent for my taste but enjoyable when dipped in the sauces of the pastas. It was also a generous serving of garlic bread which I liked. 8 slices. All orders come with complimentary bread as well. First time even though I've walked by many times. Service - well done. They were serving a large group and the service was on point. Food - had the veal Marsala.
