Update regarding gluten-free options: I honestly wouldn't be lowering my rating if Luna Grill corporate and the restaurants had really thought through this situation better. I've always loved Luna Grill, and that's what makes this so frustrating. They recently started using pita chips in the fryer, which means several items that were previously considered gluten free can no longer safely be flagged as gluten free because of cross-contact. For people with gluten allergies, sensitivities, or celiac disease, that's not a small change. It removes a lot of safe options from the menu. The sad part is that this feels completely avoidable. Pita chips could be purchased separately, fried somewhere else, bagged, or handled in a way that doesn't contaminate the fryer for gluten-free diners. Losing access to items like fries, falafel, and other fryer items over pita chips is extremely disappointing. I still love Luna Grill and want to support them, but this change makes it much harder for gluten-free customers to eat there safely. I really hope corporate reconsiders this decision or creates a dedicated fryer solution so people with gluten allergens are not pushed out of options. read more

I placed my order with Paulina who was kind enough to ask if the additional charge for the chicken portion was fine. I asserted it was. My goodness, lunch came lightning-quick! It was absolutely delicious as well with the chicken being perfectly grilled with every component from pearled couscous to sauces being crave-worthy. Paulina came by to inquire how my food was, and if I needed anything else. I've been here twice now once through Uber Eats and one through online order and pick up. Uber eats was the first time and we really enjoyed the food. It's a nice way to get a somewhat healthy option food with salad and protein and carbs. I always go for the falafel as a vegetarian and it's nice because they have a chickpea salad as well when we did order online and pick up ourselves on a Saturday night. The falafel balls were a little bit overcooked as well as the beef kabobs I took home to my husband and didn't get a picture. The beef was tasteless and not seasoned very well. The hummus was okay not the best not worst that I have had. The very best thing was gyro meat with was a combo of lamb and beef. I would skip the beef kabobs meal which was around $19 and get the gyro meal instead. They make everything fresh so it does take at least 15 minutes to make but at least you know it's made fresh. My favorite healthy restaurant in the Coachella Valley! This restaurant is the best fast(ish) healthy food restaurant that I've been to in California. It truly is a hidden gem tucked behind the popular El Paseo street in Palm Desert and is worth the 30 minute drive from Palm Springs! Luna grill specializes in Mediterranean food with a strong focus on their kebabs; however, they have pita sandwiches and salads with protein options as well. After 6+ visits, I can personally say the food quality stays consistent and tastes the same as when I first ate here. They offer customers a dine in or takeout option and even have their own app with a rewards program. Personally, I stick with the kebab plate meal because it is the best value for the price. It comes with 1 kebab (add 5$ for an extra kebab), house salad, rice, pita bread, and one choice of sauce. The Koobideh kebab (ground beef) is my favorite protein option because it is the juiciest and most flavorful of all of their proteins. My second favorite is the chicken kebab because it is very tender. I find the meats to not be overly seasoned or salty which is a major bonus for me. I've found more authentic Mediterranean kebab restaurant to use a lot of seasoning on their kebabs which can be tasty, but not the healthiest option. The restaurant is very modern inside and the staff is always friendly. If you dine in, the staff will give you a number placard and deliver the order to you at your table. I find it takes the restaurant about 10-15 minutes for the food to be ready, but the online ordering service they have seems to be very efficient if you're in a rush. I really hope this chain opens a location in Palm Springs because I know it will do very well against the limited healthy food restaurant competitors (virtually none ). read more
