I've been a "loyal" customer for a few years now (I don't visit any other salons but also don't get…read moremy nails done very often, like 3 times a year, maybe 5 at the most) For my birthday yesterday I got a haircut for the 1st time since the pandemic started :) and signed up for a deluxe mani and a classic pedi at Vina. I was really satisfied with their new health policies put in place: - stay in your car until your appt (no entering early) - mask required - go wash your hands at their sink before touching the check in ipad - pedicure foot tubs were the same procedure as before, but manicure stations had plexiglass set up. - prices were raised a few dollars for all services, from what I saw, to cover higher costs of salon materials I type this *mostly* to let other clients decide if they want to go while the virus is still ongoing versus waiting. All the techs were a comfortable amount of health-conscious, and I appreciated that. The plexiplastic shields seemed homemade which I understand, but from where I was sitting from my manicure, there were lots and lots of little white marks on the surface. As if cuticle bits or stuff from the electric files for acrylic were flying all over. I WANT to believe it was just clean towel fuzzies, but it was just an observation that made me a little bit uneasy. Again, pre-Covid, this wouldn't have had nearly the same nervousness attached, and I've never had a health concern visiting this salon. My other concern is the actual state of my manicure. About 24 hrs out now, and my fingernails are already chipping and my cuticles don't look all that great. There are several spots on my toes that have kinda questionable coverage for the front of the nail where it meets the skin. Maybe my tech was having a weird day, or the Covid stuff has affected the business to this extent, I can't say, and I will definitely keep that in consideration, but it just wasn't quite on par with the results I typically get from them. This isn't the first time this has happened, and I'm beyond frustrated. I wasted time, gas, and drove 45 minutes just to not receive my service because there is clearly zero coordination or honesty. I used to be a regular customer, but this experience has completely changed that. The customer service is terrible, and there should absolutely be some kind of resolution for this situation. The manicure was shellac polish French Manicure. She took her time and was so friendly. However, it's only been a week, and the corners are already chipping off. She applied the polish on my cuticle, so now it's pulled away and is catching in my hair. (I know that's natural growth but I've never had it touching my cuticle before) I've had shellac many times that lasted a month or more. But I'd definitely return for pedicures.

I went in for a pedicure and, for the amount of money I was charged, I expected much better quality and attention to detail. Just look at the pictures. My toenails were not properly or evenly filed and shaped, and the polish application around the edges looks messy and unfinished. Some of the nails aren't even shaped consistently. This does not look like the finished result of a professional pedicure that I paid good money for. A pedicure is supposed to include proper nail care, shaping, filing, clean polish application, and attention to detail. I shouldn't leave a nail salon looking at my toes and immediately noticing things that should have been corrected before I ever got out of the chair. I don't mind paying for good service, but I absolutely expect the quality of the work to match the price. Unfortunately, this experience did not. I went for the deluxe pedicure and Shellac manicure. She agreed it was pretty bad and said she'd never seen hair cut that terrible. My hair was past my shoulders and when I got to her it was right above. She was so kind and took time to listen and really look at my hair to see what she could do. She spent almost two hours fixing this. She tried to keep my length and tried her best to blend it all together. It just wasn't going to happen. I ended up with short hair, but it looked really good. She did such a fabulous job and was so nice about the whole thing. I was able to walk out confident and really ended up liking the style she was able to give me. She is a true gem!
