On my final call, I was explicitly told she would be there and they made me an appointment with her. I showed up to my appointment and she wasn't there. Then I was told she never works Sundays. This isn't the first time this has happened, and I'm beyond frustrated. I wasted time, gas, and drove 45 minutes just to not receive my service because there is clearly zero coordination or honesty. A friend and I met here to get pedicures before going on vacation. The receptionist was very sweet and very kind. Our pedicures were the fastest I've ever had and there was NO ONE else getting one. We were all done and moved to the dryers in about 20 minutes. We were not asked what kind of pedicure we wanted, our toes and feet were not scrubbed. I will not be returning. Please. Re-train Lucy. I realize she is an elderly family member, but she does a terrible job on nails and for $40 after tip, a shellac manicure should last more than three days! I have specifically asked not to have her, which is awkward but they still put me at her station. Every time I think maybe this time it will be better, and every time Lucy does my nails, I leave disappointed. I have told them that, but I don't think they comprehend that I am unhappy, because I always come back. I come back hoping I'll win the lottery and get someone other than Lucy. They completely ignored my 11 year olds requests, we asked for manicures with shellac, and neither of them were soaked in water prior to cuticles being ripped off. They advertise kids pricing but they don't tell you that it's only applicable to kids 8 and under, so my daughter's reg mani/pedi was $60. I was really upset about the deciding advertising, not to mention that they guy cut my kid's cuticle and she was bleeding when I came to check on her. At the least they should have honor some kind of discount but that wasn't the case. The Hispanic lady who did my feet was amazing but the lady who did my hands was not. I've been a "loyal" customer for a few years now (I don't visit any other salons but also don't get my nails done very often, like 3 times a year, maybe 5 at the most) For my birthday yesterday I got a haircut for the 1st time since the pandemic started :) and signed up for a deluxe mani and a classic pedi at Vina. I was really satisfied with their new health policies put in place: - stay in your car until your appt (no entering early) - mask required - go wash your hands at their sink before touching the check in ipad - pedicure foot tubs were the same procedure as before, but manicure stations had plexiglass set up. - prices were raised a few dollars for all services, from what I saw, to cover higher costs of salon materials I type this *mostly* to let other clients decide if they want to go while the virus is still ongoing versus waiting. All the techs were a comfortable amount of health-conscious, and I appreciated that. The plexiplastic shields seemed homemade which I understand, but from where I was sitting from my manicure, there were lots and lots of little white marks on the surface. As if cuticle bits or stuff from the electric files for acrylic were flying all over. I WANT to believe it was just clean towel fuzzies, but it was just an observation that made me a little bit uneasy. Again, pre-Covid, this wouldn't have had nearly the same nervousness attached, and I've never had a health concern visiting this salon. My other concern is the actual state of my manicure. About 24 hrs out now, and my fingernails are already chipping and my cuticles don't look all that great. There are several spots on my toes that have kinda questionable coverage for the front of the nail where it meets the skin. Maybe my tech was having a weird day, or the Covid stuff has affected the business to this extent, I can't say, and I will definitely keep that in consideration, but it just wasn't quite on par with the results I typically get from them.
