This salon is under new ownership! I took my daughter here for her birthday. She got acrylics and I got a gel manicure. Both were fantastic! The salon is owned and operated by a husband / wife team and they are truly artists; very talented. They were very communicative through our entire appointments, making sure we were happy with everything. The level of customer service we received far surpasses any other salon in the area. I was visiting my parents for the holidays and was given a gift certificate here. I went with my mom and sister in law, and we called ahead for an appointment. I was surprised that Creation actually made and held a real reservation--sometimes nail salons give you a time, and when you arrive, you still have to wait. Not here! They made sure we sat next to each other for our pedicures and manicures. The salon looks new and was clean. Nice massage chairs, lots of polish colors. My favorite part was my nail technician, Tina. She was so friendly and helpful from the very beginning. We had a fun conversation, and she has a great sense of humor. She also took one look at my nails and said shellac would never stick on them because of the oils in my nails. I have had such problems with gel polish and she was the first to tell me why! I got the dip and it looks great. She also took care to apply the powder in thin layers for my nail's health, and it also looks better than when it's super thick and heavy. I'm happy with my nails and will look forward to returning here, and I'll definitely be asking for Tina! read more

I was in town visiting a friend and the weather was bad, so I suggested getting a pedicure! We found this place and called and they were able to take both of us within a half hour. We got there and chose the deluxe pedicure. Oh. My. God! Hands down the best pedicures I've ever gotten. We chose the deluxe and for $45 they scrubbed your heels and every part that was dry and callused. They used an exfoliating scrub on your feet and legs and really massaged it in. Then after rinsing that, they massaged your legs and feet even more with a moisturizer. Just when you think they're done, just wait! There's more! Then they brought out hot stones for even more massaging and then hot towels to wrap your legs in. I felt so relaxed and rejuvenated when I was done. Sooo many colors to choose from as well. I live in IL and would drive back for another pedicure again!!! read more

I walked in a 630p and they close at 7, they were able to do a full shellac removal & manicure in that time, very kind, and did an amazing job. It's lasted more than 2 weeks despite dishes, laundry, washing dogs, and going to the gym 5 days a week, oh and it survived a holidays worth of baking. read more

This salon owner canceled an appointment during check in, because he perceived an "unhappiness". Upon walking in,, he loudly screamed to "sanitize hands" before touching the iPad to check in. We looked for our names in the list, as we previously confirmed the appointment online and via phone. The owner haphazardly communicated directions on how the check in system worked, and made comments like "if you're not happy,, you don't have to" despite the fact that we were trying to understand how to check in properly. The remarks can be translated into "You are a Black woman with an opinion that is perceived as a threat." This was the second time at this location, and while the first wasn't ideal (pre covid), on this occasion, the mircoagressions were blatant. The owner made it clear that the we (a friend and I) were disposable and should be dismissed. I decided last minute to treat myself to a nice manicure. I stumbled across this place after going to 3 different places packed with the Christmas shopping crowd. Worst decision I made. The man who did my nails, I think it is Vincent, was extremely rude to me. He ruined my nails and I questioned him on it he instantly became even more rude. To the point in which he did not even help me carry my items to the nail drying station while my nails were still wet. The way I was treated there brought me to tears questioning what I may have done wrong. After calming myself down, I realized he was the one with an issue. NOT ME!! I needed a quick stop to get my nails done before the holidays and vacation. There weren't any cars, so I thought it would be perfect. The owner was the only one in the salon when I walked in, and greeted me right away. He was very pleasant, friendly and helpful, asked which service(s) I would like (they offer pedi, mani, waxing, facials, etc).The salon was very clean and well organized. Many stations for pedicures and manicures, comfy chairs. The owner started my pedicure, then moved on to start my finger nails while his employee finished the pedicure. He talked me into trying a powder like dip for my manicure. This is where my experience turned from 5 star to 3. He didn't explain what he was doing, and was rather rough with my fingers. He also used the pot of powder to dip my fingers (that seems SUPER unsanitary, but having never experienced the dip.....I thought, oookkkaaayyyy). The color did turn out amazing, but he left the powder (which dries like shellac and can only be scraped off) on the skin around my nails, and didn't bother with cuticles or anything I am accustomed to. The polish on my toes (gel) has already chipped on two toes!! The prices seemed quite steep, also, for the service. As I was paying, the owner said I need to make an appointment next time, as it is just the two people who work there....it says walk ins welcome on the door. I will keep searching for a nail salon that fits my expectations! This one is okay for a quick fix. read more

I came here on a weekday around 5pm. There was a sign on the door indicating they were closed for lunch until 3pm. I thought perhaps they had forgotten to take it down when they returned, but the door was locked. Another woman happened to walk up at the same time and mentioned to me that she had an appointment. At that point, I called the business number and when someone answered, I was informed that they had closed early that day. I said, "Well, there is someone here who has an appointment." Owner was rude and rough while doing my nails. He actually had a little fit because I didn't relax my hands enough. He squeezed my fingers too hard. My toes were not put in foam so my toes messed up when I moved to the nail table. I pointed it out and the lady fixed it, but reprimanded me like I was a child. My toes do not look nice. Had been going to this place for a while. I noticed the owner was getting more and more rude. The last time I went I decided to get a dip manicure. The owner, Vincent, did my "manicure" without any part of a manicure. No cleaning of cuticles and barely filed my nails. Told me I was done after the polish was put on and when I looked at my nails there was polish on the tip of my skin. Asked to clean it off and it made him mad!?! Called 2 days later to ask why I only got a polish change and no cleaning of cuticles and was told that is $10 extra?!?! What??? I just paid $35 for a polish change. Then the owner told me if I'm not happy never come back then hung up on me. Save yourself some money and go elsewhere. Rude owner that does a half ass job. read more

My normal salon was not able to get me in for a fill at my available time. I went to Creation as it was close to my work place. I walked in and there was a gentleman on the phone and appeared to be in an argument with someone. He got off the phone and greeted me. I told him that I needed a fill and he showed me where to sit. I told him that I had gel, not acrylic. He brought over gel nail polish colors. I advised that I had my own color and didn't want gel nail polish, I just wanted to make sure he didn't do the fill with acrylic. Once that was cleared up, the process went as normal until he finished the fill and filing process. He simply brushed off my hands and started painting my nails. I just went with it but after 10 minutes under the uv light my hands began to get hot and itchy. I checked if my nails were dry and brushed off the bits of nail dust that had collected under my ring and between my fingers. He came up and said they're not done yet. I told him what I was doing and that my nails were dry. He had me put my hands back under the light for another 5 minutes. He began to tell me that he does nails different and I need to let him do his job. I again told him why i was brushing off my hands and he again told me to let him to do his job. He took my hands out and began to inform me that regular nail polish takes time to dry. I advised that I was aware of this. The dust left on my hands was irritating my skin. I told him that I have always been told to wash my hands after they finish filing and before they paint my nails. He became very upset. I asked him to finish the top coat so I could get out of there. I also told him that I wouldn't be coming back. He did this and stated that me not coming back would make him happy. I asked what I owed and paid in cash. He began to tell me that it's stupid to have a client was their hands and then paint their nails. I advised that I have had my nails done at numerous salons in the last 20 years and have ALWAYS been told to wash my hands to remove the debris from filing. I asked if he was the owner, he said no. I asked for his name and he refused to tell me. I told him that I would be writing a review about his horrible customer service. He said he didn't care who I was and told me to leave. This was a wonderful place to go, I just wish I hadn't had found it 2 months before I moved to South Carolina. That staff is REALLY friendly and will never tell you no when you as for nail art. Worst nail salon in Kalamazoo. Owner Vincent is rude, abrasive and clearly doesn't care about customers. Services are very pricey. Pedicures are $30 and they really don't work on your feet very long. Only 2 people can do nails, so walk-ins are not easy to come by. Don't call and complain about anything because Vincent won't listen, doesn't care and will tell you, it's your money do what you want...he may hang up on you(like he did me) also. I've pledged to write a review in their Facebook page for 30 days. Poor, poor customer service. Also, the young lady that works with them excessively rolls her eyes. This is a nice little gem of a nail place. As I read in yellow page review, an appointment will be your best bet, as when I was there at 930 am. Their first opening for the day wasn't until 430 (so glad I called ahead). I felt very taken care of, and was very impressed with the attention to detail. They did have a big TV on the wall but it was off (yay!) And there was nice background music. The salon itself was clean and the staff is fun and seem to enjoy what they do. If you're searching for a genuine nail salon to call your go to spot- keep looking! Not impressed with the vibe, performance & professionalism of this place! Nor will I recommend this salon to anybody. I'll be very to the point; the polish job sucks, the staff begs you to buy other products or services & the staff are insulting & rude! First time going in & instantly I felt as if I was a bother. Only one other gal was in there besides myself. The lady who does facials and brow waxing asked the other customer if she would like a brow waxing or facial and the gal politely declined. The lady then told her a facial is what she needed because her face is wrinkly. They insulted and begged that poor gal until she finally agreed to it. I was next! I politely declined and told them I don't wax, I get mine threaded instead. The guy doing my nails stopped, looked at me like what I just said was insulting to him and he then informed me that "waxing is better, threading takes too long & hurts for 2 days after" (I've threaded for 2 years and it's quick and kind of painful, but doesn't last 2 days. More like 5 minutes) Again, I politely declined. After that I felt as if I was a huge bother now & felt as if the guy was rushing through my nails. Ultimately he had to fix three of my nails, which probably really upset him, and I am still very unsatisfied! There are streaks, white specs and brush hairs stuck in the polish. Needless to say, I'll hopefully be able to find the color in stores as well as the matte finish and be repainting them myself. I really hoped this salon was my go-to place, a lot of the reviews are good so I trusted it. Almost makes me wonder if they didn't write the reviews themselves... Or had other people do it for them.
