I finally found my new go-to nail salon!!! They did an amazing job on my mani/pedi. I got #123 of powder dip for my manicure and I love it! The person really took their time and made sure it was perfect. When I say I've been looking for a good nail salon for a long time...I mean a loooonnnnggg time! I've tried so many places and they all suck or are insanely expensive. Since I'm a baller on a budget with high standards I'm happy I finally found Queen Side note: photo was taken 8 days after my mani and they STILL on Update: went back to get a French mani with the dip. They did an AWESOME job!!! Side note: I'm pretty sure their prices have gone up a little bit for the dip since my first review...regardless, they still do the best job in the entire Kalamazoo area and it's worth it knowing they'll do the job right. read more

Upon entering Queen Nails, it is very nicely decorated and appears clean. My friend and I went in to get pedicures and manicures. It was a little strange to me that two times during my pedicure, my nail tech answered his cell phone. Then, the gentleman working on my toes cut me. He apologized and continued working. Once my toes were quickly done, I used the bathroom before starting my finger nails. As you enter the bathroom there is a urinal out in the open as well as a large mop and dirty bucket. The single stall contains a toilet the had the seat lifted (which typically signifies that it has recently been cleaned). However, there was urine and feces on the under side of the toilet seat. I left without using the restroom. As I began my manicure the gentleman answered another 3 phone calls. I showed him a picture of the manicure I wanted and we continued on. Through the process he cut me another 4 times. By the end, he quit apologizing. The end result was just mediocre and I am still picking gel polish off of my skin around my toes. I do not plan on returning. read more

I've been going to Queen Nails for a couple of years and they do a great job! I schedule appointments for every 2-3 weeks and I never have to wait, they're always ready for me when I arrive. They have a huge selection of colors and dipping powders. I do the dip on my nails and it holds up great between appointments. Gel pedicures are also wonderful and polish lasts a month between appointments. read more

In the past I have loved going here for mani/pedi, used to take their time and the massage was great. My past 2 visits in the last couple of months have been terrible! Done with both a mani/pedi in 30 min- didn't allow my fingers to even soak for 10 seconds before clipping cuticles, didn't allow any polish coats to dry before coating again. Unfortunately queen nails had always been my go too but I won't be going back. They are more expensive then other places as well! It's too bad- hopefully things will get better. read more

My daughter's injuries after she was "clipped" twice in a single visit. I wouldn't even be reporting this if the owner/manager hadn't been such a jerk about the situation. By the way, he was one of the manicurists who cut her, on her hand. The toe injury was done by a different manicurist. Nonetheless, when I brought this to his attention and asked for a reduction in price, he quickly told me, "no discount ever!" Seems he doesn't apologize either, never got any understanding or empathy, nor an apology. Also, after he cut my daughters finger, he continued using the SAME dip powder jar with her open wound still exposed and bleeding. Lesson here is, a reduction in price, if only $5 and/or a simple apology would have gone a long way. It's called customer service and it was a huge mistake on their part. We won't be back and now they have this one star review on their Yelp page. Let that sink in. It's cheaper than a lawsuit. read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! I was excited to try this place after reading some of the positive reviews here. When I checked in for a shellac mani-pedi appointment for two, I gathered there was some confusion (as they were discussing among themselves in a language that I did not understand) but never communicated or explained anything to me. After that I was pointed to sit on an empty spa chair however, the service did not start until after about 30-40 minutes later. When I went to use the bathroom while waiting; it was very unpleasant, smelly & filthy (like another reviewer mentioned). Just after TWO days after my manicure, the shellac started chipping and continued to chip badly (timestamped photos). When I got back to town, I called the salon and requested to talk to a manager and the woman on the phone told me that the manager is not there and that he will not come in until later. When I was asked by her what it is about, I proceeded to explain and she started interrupting me & cutting me off half sentence & then arguing. So I requested her to have the manager call me when he gets in. Since I did not hear back, on the third day I called back the salon and a man answered and he told me that he is the owner & manager. When I started talking, he cut me off saying that it was his wife who had attended my call the first time and that she already told him everything and that he would not do anything to rectify the issue. When asked his name, he refused and started to ridicule me and told me that there is no guarantee or policy for any of their services! He even threatened me saying "That's why I pay my lawyer good money!" Honestly, he was the rudest person and the worst customer service salon I have ever come across! I have given this salon a handful of tries and unfortunately, the poor quality of the work remains the same. After a few hours of paying $40 for a dip manicure, my nails begin to chip because of how thin the polish is. I really wanted to love this salon because its clean and beautiful, but the quality in the work provided is just not there. The staff use to be friendly and many of the employees have since left and the only ones remaining do not make you feel welcome as a customer. read more

This is my go-to nail salon. The staff are very helpful and professional. I've been getting the powder dip manicure which usually lasts 3 1/2 weeks. Whenever I go to another nail salon, I'm a bit disappointed that the manicure doesn't last as long as when I have my nails done here. This place is a bit more expensive than some of the other salons in Portage but my nails last longer so it's worth it. I've had really good experiences here and recommend it to friends. read more

I had my appointment with the owners mother. I had walked in and sat down... i had my purse with me and she called me over to sit down at the #7 seat. I had set my purse down on the ground and she proceeded to do my nails. After she was done I had excess lotion on my hands and walked over to the sink to wipe down with a towel. I walked back grabbed my purse and walked up to pay up front. I paid and walked out the door.. as I got in my car I was looking for my phone and could not find it. I looked everywhere in my car and it was not there... I walked back in and stated that I had apparently lost my phone in the salon.. no one wanted to help me. They looked at me and then looked away. One lady getting her nails done said she would call my phone for me. I looked for 15 mins around the chairs and back and forth from where I sat to the waiting area. NOTHING. I then called my significant other from the nice ladies phone to find my phone on the FIND MY PHONE app. My significant other stated he could see that it was at QUEEN NAILS. I told him that I have looked everywhere and no one would help me look for it... they practically all ignored me. Then another nice woman gave me her phone to login to the find my phone app so I could accurately locate my phone. She said I could take her phone outside to see if it was there and to press the alarm button so my phone would blast the loud ALARM so everyone could hear it. One of the workers finally walked up and started to ask me if maybe I had dropped it. I walked outside and he walked out with me... as I went back into my car to take ONE last look inside to see maybe I had dropped it -- the older woman who did my nails (owners mother) ran out yelling with my BEEPING PHONE saying she "found" my phone in her purse and it was beeping so loud ... she thinks her daughter had placed it in HER purse????? I looked at her and said what? Where was it? And she said, "in MY purse, daughter put there.. she think it my phone"... she literally stated that her daughter must have taken my phone out of my purse and obviously put it in her mother's purse. FIRST OFF: MY PHONE HAD BEEN IN MY PURSE THE WHOLE TIME. When I had gotten to the salon I had placed it in my purse and not touched it. She must have went into my purse and STOLEN my phone - thinking I would just leave without noticing, hence why she did NOT HELP me at all to look for it for 45 MINUTES and ignored me when I walked BACK in looking for my ogoneWILL NEVER BE BACK TO THIS AWFUL PLACE. How dare you steal people's things.. thinking they won't notice. SHAME ON YOU. I could have called the authorities since I saw that my phone was clearly there in your salon on the find my phone app and you PRETENDED that you had not seen it. I am disgusted with the way this place runs. I was just going to let karma do it's thing BUT other people have the right to know how you run your business there!!! read more

I regularly came to this salon about once a month for almost a year and a half for their dip manicures. The first few times the service was great and I looked forward to coming back. Then each visit got increasingly worse and my last one was the final straw. The woman who did my nails is younger and I know worked at Escape nails, which was the salon I left so I was less than impressed. She was filing off the old manicure and was going too fast and focusing too long in one area which started to burn me and when I told her she said "it's fine I'm almost done". After my nails were wrapped she went outside to smoke for about 20 minutes, then came back smelling like cigarettes. She seemed annoyed when I asked if I could see a color before dipping all ten of them, as if it was an inconvenience. She finished my manicure and was doing the final filing of the top layer. On three of my fingers she was distracted and cut my cuticles, making them bleed. She never apologized, but just kept going on. After she finished I saw her go outside again and another nail tech came to do my hand massage. That was a one star experience, but their prices are still competitive and I've had some great service here. It's a shame that they can't be more consistent. read more

I've went a couple of times because a girlfriend "swears" by them. She hasn't been into nails as long as i have. Not as picky. Just liked the decor and the fact they have lots of dips colors. But that's the extent of this business. It is a nice atmosphere. Would just pass on the tables to rest your forearms on when you're getting your nails done. And every time i go, my nails come out absolutely horrible. I'm the type of person who doesn't make scenes or ask for refunds. But it makes due a phone call to my man complaining how I'll never go and waste my money there. And then 2 weeks later my girlfriend drags me there. wishing i could convince her they're complete shit. read more

Wonderful salon and is now my go to as I'm new to the area. This is in such a convenient location, everyone there is so sweet and love the prices. Only got a pedi yesterday, multiple options and price ranges for a pedi. Lots of OPI colors to choose from. Got the luxury pedi and was there for a good hour, it was perfect, clean, professional. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this nail salon! The only salon I know that you can get a paraffin wax service with pedicures. It is absolutely amazing! They have over 500 different colors to choose from. The staff is very welcoming and the atmosphere is so relaxing. What more could you ask for? read more
