They listened to my concerns about the original nails being too thin and flexible, and this time they redid them with a stronger application and let me choose a completely different design. The new set feels much more secure and looks beautiful. What I especially appreciated is that they redid the full set at no cost, which I thought was amazing and showed they genuinely wanted to make things right. I really appreciate that the manager took my complaint seriously and made the effort to fix the situation. Problems can happen anywhere, but how a business responds matters a lot, and they definitely redeemed the experience for me.

She did not realize that I speak Vietnamese, so I understood everything being said. The situation made me very uncomfortable and felt extremely unprofessional. When I said goodbye to her in Vietnamese and let her know that I understood the conversation, it was clear she had not expected that. Except they actually don't have the extra long in stock, she was going to just apply the Long tip halfway down my nail bed. I declined and asked for the extra long tips I'm paying for. She then took out "xtra xtra long" and said $85 for these. So completely skipped over extra long and still charged me. Whatever , I agreed because benefit of the doubt. Once the foundation is laid, they ask me what designs I want. I showed them several pictures as inspiration and described what I would like, open to all suggestions and directions. They quoted me an additional $75 on top of the $85, and although I was completely shocked , I figured I was just out of my budget and needed to pick another design. Everything I suggested was $60+ on top of $85. Finally I asked ok what about French tip?! They said $25 extra. Okay, very expensive but I hope they look good. Keep in mind the entire time, only 1 person in the whole salon spoke English and whenever I would ask a question, my tech would yell for the English speaker very annoyed as if I was a problematic customer. I also got a full set gel x pedicure, and needed one nail repaired as it's growing back from falling off. When my tech was removing dead skin from the sides of my nail bed, she snipped my skin and cut me. In total for full set xtra long French tip and French tip gel x pedicure, I paid $190 not including tip. 3 days later, my repaired toe nail came off. Okay, maybe it was just too small of a nail. BUT THEN ON THE 4TH DAY, MY FINGERNAIL BREAKS IN HALF. $190 for basic nails, that break not even a full business week later. So disappointed, will never come back.

I had become disillusioned with my regular salon. After reading the reviews for Luminous Nails, I decided to give it a try, well, it has become my permanent salon! Every part of my experience was excellent. The nail techs are highly trained, but they also take pride in the salon. If a chair has been left askew, someone will immediately tuck it back into place. When I was there, a young girl was looking for a place to sit, close by her mom. My nail tech noticed right away, even though he was focused on my nails. He stopped, pulled a chair over next to her mom and invited her to sit with mom. Then he immediately picked up where he left off with me. On the day that I was there, 3 men and one woman were working. They were all so efficient, everyone received timely attention. The salon is very clean, with no nail dust or acrylic remnants remaining on lids, bottles, carts, or UV Lights. The pedicure chairs are actually sparkling clean! Finally, let me tell you about the talented techs... they are very artistic and are able to do all kinds of techniques. Dip, Gel-x, Gel Builder, ombre nails and of course regular oil' acrylics! I cannot recommend Luminous Nails highly enough, and after only one visit! read more

Soft Opening Success!…read more So happy to finally have a new nail salon right here in Covina! We stopped in during their soft opening (grand opening is mid-September) and treated ourselves to mani-pedis. We both got the deluxe manicure; I chose the volcano pedi and he went with the rose pedi. Talk about pampering! My feet came in tired and dried out from a summer of sandals and left feeling silky smooth and soft. The color selection is incredible--easily over 100 options, which made picking one almost impossible (in the best way). Service was attentive the entire time, and the salon itself is beautiful with a real posh, elevated feel. We enjoyed the experience so much that we purchased memberships on the spot and fully expect to become regulars. Highly recommend checking them out!

I wish she would've let me know in advance she was running late. I was bothered by the fact that my tech has no sense of urgency, didn't acknowledge me the entire time she was finishing her client. She even walked past me outside with her client to take photos of her nails while already running late af. I really wanted to walk out and get my nails done somewhere else but my card was on file and I was afraid I'd be marked as a no show even though I was on time. I finally get sat down, I expressed that I was upset but she didn't seem to care or know how to react at all. The owner, Wendy was super nice and still trying to make my experience a good one. I appreciated that. I even apologized because I felt like I came off so rude, but can you blame me? The rest of the appointment went fine, we talked a bit and she did pretty much what I asked for but now that I'm home I really feel like I was ripped off. If my birthday wasn't the next day, I would've tried to find somewhere else to go.. I spent like $165 on a pedicure and gel x set with designs. Please see the designs in my photo. I did compliment my nails, I did tell her that I'd really liked them because the French she did on my toes was good! but when I got home and actually examined the work on my hands up close, the chrome isn't even that well done. The designs she drew on were sloppy! I posted my nails in a nail fb group for an opinion on my nails and experience and everyone told me it was 100% not worth what I paid. They said the execution was bad and she was unprofessional, which I agree. They were even surprised she didn't give any type of courtesy discount considering how late she was. $3 off my callus removal is not sufficient lol. They have a 15 minute grace period for late clients, they should really have something in place for when their techs are 40+ mins late. I honestly wouldn't come back. Way way overpriced.
