Whatever you do... DO NOT GET ANYTHING DONE HERE!!! I took a chance and decided to go here for an acrylic fill because my lovely regular nail tech is out for an injury. This nail tech at Luminous Nails took a dagger like nail tip and shoved it under my index finger half way under my nail bed! My regular nail tech would always go from the side and use a blunt end!!! I bled so much! She then put the very much used end of a bottle of stiptic directly on the remaining nail to stop the bleeding. I couldn't go on...I left. Julie, (the owner), left a rather passive aggressive response to my original review, which was honestly not harsh in my opinion (I left 4 stars and my harshest criticism was that I didn't feel heard, my ref picture was heavily disregarded, and the order of my colors was switched from what I wanted). The customer service wasn't great to begin with, but leaving a huge paragraph putting the blame on your customer for your own lack of clarification is rude and irrational. Telling me to "listen to the stylist" when you, the stylist, barely spoke to me and didn't clarify things very extensively by any means is ironic to say the least. Thanks for the offer to come back and fix my nails, but I got them redone at a different salon that exceeded my expectations. (Luxury Nail Spa 1 in Montgomery county if anyones interested, they're amazing.) I couldn't recommend this business less. read more

** Update** Julie reached out and done her best to rectify the situation . I have gotten my nails done here many times , however today I left with the worst experience. I had white and pink acrylics decided I wanted a new set with gel. He started with chopping my nails all the way down , I like to keep a little length, he didn't even bother to ask. Then In all the times I've ever changed my set they have been soaked off. Not today! Today I got popping them off with a fake nail. That hurt and when I would pull back he said just relax. Then on my thumb it ripped the side of my nail. Some of my nails are sore from this. Then I was charged for the "take off acrylic" .. There is also a little bit of acrylic under my thumb nail that I was told, "that's natural nail". Um no because it's not even long enough to be my nail. Also a small gap between the tip ( I wouldn't have needed had he asked how short I'd like my names) .I've included pictures for your viewing pleasure. After telling the young lady at the front she looked to whom I believe was a manger, he stayed sitting down asked what to do and he said take off 10%. Okay , thanks for that ... However when I got the receipt I still paid for the "take off". This is a luxury service and that's not what I received from this. I absolutely love this nail salon and have had nothing but stellar services here. My nails have never broken or cracked, and my gel polish always hold strong. Service has been nothing but amazing! If I don't like something or I ask them to fix it they're more then happy to! All of the tools they use are brand new out of a sterile package or cleaned ! I have now been to Luminous twice in the last month and have been very happy with my services. For the first time in 20 years I decided to get a full set of acrylic nails. They look fantastic and Julie took great care of me. I am new to giving Yelp reviews because I only recently downloaded the app. Apparently my first review for Luminous was so great that Yelp didn't even believe it was real and took the ad down. I did not appreciate that because I meant every word I said and I took my personal time out to give a review. So I want y'all to know that I am a real person, I am not a paid advertisement, I paid full-price for my nail treatments, and would recommend Luminous and have recommended Luminous to anyone I know wanting to get their nails done. I thought I liked this place but I'm never going back after this last experience. paid $200 for gel pedicure and dip manicure... chipped off after 3 DAYS. Absolutely ridiculous and over priced for sub par service. also was rushed out of there within an hour and had the girl come take my credit card while I was still getting my nails done. never going back. you guys should be ashamed or hire better nail techs. I do a better job with my Amazon dip purchase and it lasts longer than 3 days lol what a joke. read more

I came in yesterday for a standard gel pedicure. While removing my previous gel the girl cut my skin on 7 out of 10 toes with her nail drill and then on top of that she cut the skin a few more times while cutting the cuticles. As soon as I stepped out into the parking lot the gel immediately peeled off so I had to go back inside and have someone else re-do the gel polish. Then 2 of the cut toes became INFECTED and when I called to speak to the manager about this all she said was "Oh no. Thank you for letting me know..." and that was all she said. I paid 74 dollars to get two infected toes for a standard gel pedicure..... this is completely unacceptable and I'd highly recommend never coming here. read more

I get my nails done regularly, and I know how long they should last, and I know things happen and sometimes a nail falls off prematurely.. this is not that. Got a full gel set on 3/2, had to go back 2/5 because one nail fell off and two others chipped. Over the next 4 days, two more nails fell off. Went back 3/18 to get a fill, even though I knew better than to return but it is a convenient location and I had minimal time. LESS THAN 24 hours later, and I have had two nails fall off already. A middle fingernail fell off 12 hours after getting them done, I went to get it fixed 3/19 and was chastised by the nail tech for not knowing the color (that she chose the day prior) and told she would only fix for free this time. I get home and shower, and another nail falls off. I leave for vacation in the early morning, and I am beyond frustrated. I absolutely will not return and would not suggest this to ANYONE. read more

I got my nails done in Saturday and got a lilac color and when I see it in day light the next morning I looked at them and they have got blue spots all in them. Im sure that the color was expired and now my nails look like crap when it come to the color of them. read more

I had a horrible experience at this salon. I first waited over an hour because the receptionist lost my name in the system. When I finally did get a technician he ground down the surface of my nails to remove the polish. This has damaged my nails so that I will need to wait months for the nails to repair. Then when I went to checkout they not only made me pay full price but I had to wait again for the receptionist. She decided to walk outside for a break right as I walked up to check out. Don't go hear without an appointment! You don't know what damage will be done. read more

The place is overall really nice and the people are very welcoming and nice as well. The man doing my nails though seemed to be rushing me and i wanted tip on my nails but really short because i play basketball. He was cutting the tips down and i kept saying more please and he wouldn't let me cut them down more because "they looked bad". It is my nail and i'm still paying for the tip so it was rude he wouldn't let me make them shorter. He also cut my finger a couple of times and i left the salon bleeding (not bad but still). He also kept moving my arm and i was so uncomfortable!!! My arm was practically twisted and it was hard for me to keep it like that, not relaxing at all. This was my first visit and I was open to the experience. I made an appointment and when I arrived, a person approached me to announce she would be my nail technician. While I was choosing a nail color, she announced a customer who had arrived 10 minutes after me had an appointment with her and she would not be be doing my manicure. Not a good start. A tall man who appeared to be a supervisor as he seemed to be assigning work to personnel, yelled to Hailey, the technician who would be doing my nails. Not exactly professional but I'm happy things are moving forward. When I sat down at Hailey's station, I noticed she had a few signs posted like, 5% discount if services are paid in cash and she preferred a cash tip. I thought that was helpful but odd no other stations had these type of signs. When she brought out the acetone for soak off of the old dip powder, I complained to her several times that it was very hot. She completely ignored me. I have never had hot acetone before and wouldn't recommend it. The pads of my fingertips were left rough from this method. I tried to talk to her about the colors I chose for the dip. She seemed resistant to having a conversation as it took several attempts to get her to actually discuss the process. Hailey did a beautiful job on the actual ombré dip color portion. I was surprised with the additional up charge of $15 for the use of 2 colors. I should have been informed prior to the service being performed. I felt she should have spent more time on the filing and shaping of the nails. They were not uniform and she rushed through it. She used several tools and barely looked at my nails or what she was doing. She seemed distracted and inattentive. I also had only 1 tip that was applied and it is crooked. When I paid for the service in cash to obtain the 5% discount, $59.25 later incl. tax, the tall "bossy" man and another man who appeared to work there approached the counter as if to assist Hailey in the collection of the funds. It was peculiar and annoying. I tipped Hailey over $10 "cash" as requested. There was no "thank you", or any type of acknowledgment. This establishment comes across as an uptown salon with its modern decor and choice of several wines for a beverage, they have a lot to learn about customer service. I asked for an experienced tech. Instead, I observed some self absorbed personnel who could care less about the customer. read more
