5 Stars - Transformative Massage Experience with Ling Wimple Last Sunday, I booked a last-minute massage at Kettering Spa because my neck and back were really bothering me after a weekend of yard work and moving. I had never been there before, but their great reviews and an open appointment made it an easy choice--and I'm so glad I went. My massage therapist, Ling Wemple, was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly thorough and clearly very knowledgeable. Not only did she use effective massage techniques, but she also incorporated stretching and other therapeutic modalities that really targeted my problem areas. From the moment we started, she focused on my concerns with professionalism and genuine care. I felt noticeably better right away--Ling truly went above and beyond. In the past, I've enjoyed massages, but typically only went if someone gave me a gift certificate. After this session, I realized the true therapeutic benefits of massage. I booked a Swedish massage. I told her medium to light pressure and had to tell her to stop 4 times as she was causing me to have muscle spasms. It was painful and I told her. When she asked me to turn over, I couldn't understand her so I asked her if she wanted me to turn over and she gave me an attitude. When she was done she just left. I gave her a tip but probably shouldn't have. The ceiling looked nasty and the massage room was cold. No warm blanket and no bolster for the ankle or knees. read more

Kettering Spa is great. Booking took a minute, staff was kind, and the place is spotless and quiet. My deep-tissue massage actually helped--therapist asked where I was tight, checked pressure, and worked out the shoulder and low-back knots. This spa is a great value and excellent service! I had a 60 min Swedish massage and it was bliss, so relaxing. Helped to undo all those knots! I felt rejuvenated afterwards and will be back again! A better deal than you can find most other places, $75 for a 60 min massage and generally good availability that you can get it pretty quickly if you need it! I bought a "foot reflexology" session off of Groupon for foot pain from running. You were prompted to tip beforehand, kind of annoying but whatever. When I got there the girl didn't seem to know what that was. She set me up for a regular massage, but I told her it was for foot reflexology. She said ok and did my feet and my chins a lot. It kind of hurt and she just did it with one hand. I felt weird having to keep asking her to massage my feet, not my chins. She was nice but seemed annoyed. They definitely shouldn't be selling foot reflexology sessions on Groupon. I would come back for a normal massage or try another treatment, but only in person not over Groupon because I didn't get what was advertised. read more

Coming from California, Kettering Spa is an absolute find. Staff are friendly and caring. I had a mother-daughter spa day and it was the best. They are also very thorough for waxing, check and rechecking for little hairs. I visit Ohio once a month and will be coming back. Two small things is to check there current website for pricing, apparently the one linked to Yelp is not accurate. Second, they are a neighbor to a golf indoor practice, once a while, you may hear the golf ball hit. Not super load, it didn't bother me. Thank you again for making our day. read more

The ladies were able to accommodate on a Sunday morning to get massages and facials for myself and my friend to celebrate her birthday. Most day spas I called could not. Our weekday schedules usually prevent us from being able to go through the week so to be able to have an appt scheduled for 11am on a Sunday was great! This was our first visit to the salon. Just got done with a 60 minute deep massage and I feel absolutely amazing! First spa massage and I have to say I will come back again! This was truly a great experience. Michelle was the one who took great care of me and I was more comfortable and felt safe, as I have trust issues. They use quality products without a lot of harsh scents which I love. After the service was complete Michelle took the time to explain my skin type and recommend a mask to use at home. I saw Wei Wei/Michelle for a 90 minute deep tissue massage and she was wonderful. Very relaxing, professional, and definitely got some knots out of my back. She even went a few minutes OVER time to make sure she worked on my legs some even though I told her she could spend the whole time on my back. I am SO happy I somehow found this place. I had been getting lash extensions for a few months locally & loved the way they looked & really liked the tech. However, one day I wanted to see what other options were out there & randomly found Kettering Spa. I had thought it'd be a fill in, but I had to have those extensions because she used a completely different product. I chose 3D lashes (there are several options/looks in different price ranges). She is so kind, gentle & has a calming energy. While it was slightly more costly than where I was going, it was a better overall experience & end result. She also pays attention closely to client response & asks about quality satisfaction. This the only place I will go from now on & it's 35 minutes away (as opposed to 7, but the extra 28 minute drive worth it). I scheduled a visit for a fill after the first time & scheduled a massage at the same time to check that out too. Massage has been one way I try to manage chronic pain & stress. While there wasn't really time beyond lashes to include the massage due to timing issues on both ends that day, she did anyway. I didn't tell her about all of or the extent of my injuries, but she asked me as she worked with my body. I've had a lot of massage of all types from many different practitioners everywhere. This was different & could be in the top of my favorites. She contributed to all of these areas. BONUS - they gave me 20% off my initial visit since they are a new business. Similarly today, I scheduled again because I was so pleased last time. My massage was incredible. I felt amazing during & afterward. She is very client-aware. Both times, she really made a difference in my day. My lashes look beautiful as always when she's done them. I highly recommend them for massage or lash enhancements; I imagine it would be the same quality & level of satisfaction with other services. I hope to get a facial there one of these days next. I'm glad that I looked to see what else was out there outside the one location in my town; Kettering Spa is directly across from the Greene. I didn't expect to be so impressed. First time here and i loved it! Definitely got a firm massage when I asked for it. I have been to a few massage places and they were decent but didnt have that firm pressure that I'm used to. Will definitely be back! They give you 20% off your first time and they have such good deals for future visits. They dont "offer" a membership which i especially like. read more

I enjoyed my massage and facial!! I went as a birthday treat for some relaxation and this spa did not disappoint. The best massage I've had to date has been in Las Vegas, they stretched and massaged all over and this massage reminded me of that! This was nice. She used all the time available and my face looks fresh. Extractions didn't leave marks or bruises which have happened at other places. I am from out of town, and I am also 8 months pregnant. They are one of the few places that offer a prenatal massage. The experience was amazing... The lady that massaged me knew all right spots and what pressure was right. It was just the thing I needed before my drive home and baby comes. I go to Donna to get eye lash extensions. She does a great job and is usually less than an hour. I would highly recommend this spa.
