I read a lot of reviews of this place that made me a little hesitant, so allow me to clear some things up. The float tanks are NOT small. I'm 5'9" and, whilst lying down inside, I could stretch my arms out above my head and point my toes and just barely touch both ends. I could also raise my arms above me and not touch the top. There's PLENTY of room. I was concerned because I'm mildly claustrophobic, but I had no issues whatsoever. They do a very good job explaining what to do before and after your float and what to expect. I asked a variety of questions and they answered concisely and patiently so I would feel comfortable. The massage was AMAZING. Hot stones with Annie, and she's brilliant. Someone said the music was distracting, but either they've changed what sounds they use or I'm just not that particular because I found it very relaxing. It is in a slightly odd location, but who cares?! The facility is great. It's quiet, very clean (can't stress this enough, as it's a pet peeve), organized, and peaceful. Overall, 10/10 experience. I feel so blessed for the experience I had today at Gravity Spa. First of all, I won their Veterans' Day gift basket which was completely unexpected. When I went to pick it up, they had a cancellation for a 1hr float that I was able to take advantage of. Very hesitant at first to float in a salt water tub, but the experience was amazing and I could've stayed in there another hour! Brought me back to my deployment in Israel, floating in the Dead Sea. Dirty Disgusting tanks!!!! Don't go there period!! Customer service is horrendous!! Dark Dirty filthy tanks will never go there again!! I was discriminated against for being a guy since no guys work here! Girls just sat around with their phones to lazy to get up nobody greeted me! After I did my float which I was suspicious about because it's 100 percent dark I thought do they even clean these things???? Then later I was 100 percent harassed and blamed for their dirty tanks!! They said they are charging me 750 dollars!! Hahah they falsely accused me of dirtying tanks then told me to pay $750 for something I didn't do. Driving over to Gravity Spa, you go through residential areas.. but it's located in a tiny shopping mall. Based on the reviews, I thought it'd be located in a house but it wasn't. It was easy to book my appointment online. I booked my appointment the morning of, and it wasn't a problem for them. Although, you have to call to confirm your appointment if you book it the same day. The spa is pretty big, and very welcoming. I booked my appointment with Angie and she was great! She was really good at massaging my upper back and the pressure was firm the whole time. When it came time for my leg massage, it wasn't as firm. But that's fine. It's really hard to find someone who knows how to massage legs. Who can get in there and massage your tight IT Band. I'd come back to Gravity Spa and would book Angie again! Also, you can save a little bit of money if you buy a package of massages. And, they give a 10% military discount every day! read more

I grew up in this neighbourhood and we've always thought the random businesses were weird just like everyone here has mentioned I'm glad this is what inhabits one of them! Been wanting to go for years and finally did my first float here today. The atmosphere was great: knowledgeable staff and a cool little painting corner for after your float/massage. Tea, coffee, water, and fruit are available Almost everything you need is provided--I'd recommend bringing flip flops, a hair brush, and moisturiser too. I wish they had a more detailed sheet of directions in the float rooms. My mom had trouble remembering all the directions Kathryn told us, so that would be helpful. The outside appearance and even the reception area made me a little nervous, not exactly welcoming in appearance. I'm glad I didn't let that run me off. I had an hour massage that was excellent. I followed that up with an hour floatation. This was a first for me and I highly recommend it....if you are OK in our own head. If you are easily bored, or have to have noise going all the time, this is not for you. If you have a regular meditation practice this may help you move to a deeper level. Super clean space. When I first walked in they offered me tea. Eclipse was such a sweetie. She gave helpful information on how I can achieve the best meditation state while in the pod. Highly recommend the message before the float. I had janella and she was awesome. I like my massages harder and she delivered. I was sooo relaxed when I left. I am definitely going back. Any woman wanting to go be away the salt water may get into the kitty cat And may sting a little but only at first. It goes away. I visited Gravity Spa for the first time yesterday. I'm not new to getting massages...I'm a former athlete so I've had my fair share of massages over the years and this massage was exceptional! The experience starts as soon as you walk in. It's calm and clean, refreshments are available, and the staff was very nice and friendly. My massage was perfect. So I'm giving Gravity Spa a 4 but it's an "averaged" score. The float was a 3 & massage was a 5. Float - I had heard really good things about this experience & was skeptical about my ability to float for an hour, but thought I'd give it a try. The staff were very friendly & knowledgeable. A few things I struggled with - the silence, the dark & the limited movement. I know this is all a part of the experience, but I struggled A LOT with this. I kept thinking the experience would have been more enjoyable with soft instrumental music (like during the massage) or nature sounds & some type of soft lighting. The water was warm but did cool down during the hour & even though I wore the ear plugs I still have water & salt in my ears (4 days later) it's driving me nuts. I only lasted 40 min & then had to get out of the tank, turn on the lights & move around. I took a shower & got ready for the massage. The massage by Angie was awesome. Just what I needed to get rid of knots/stress in my neck & shoulders. I had her do Swedish massage and really concentrate on upper back, neck & shoulders. It was great. I set up another appointment for a massage. So this is a mixed review - spa is clean, staff friendly & everything was as advertised.... just not the right personality type to do floating again. read more

I really like this place! It can be a bit noisy during massages sometimes, but that really doesn't bother me. The music is definitely hit or miss. Some day I'll try a therapist other than Maretta, but probably only if she's ill or something. She does a really great job on my problematic calves. She knows the right amount of gentleness coupled with digging in hard. I like the floats, too. I need to do another one of those. To me it's better after the massage. read more

The float was very interesting; it wasn't for me, but that isn't a reflection of the spa, it was simply my own opinion. The staff is very friendly and the spa itself very clean. Staff are all very friendly and the massage itself was nice, however the location is in an odd place tucked in behind a neighborhood of houses. I wasn't a fan of the music they played. Instead of relaxing, calming sounds like I would have preferred, they played what I would consider to be classical renditions of modern hip hop/alternative songs from artists like Adele. I like that type of music on a regular day, though when getting a massage I would like to clear my mind & relax & not be getting a song stuck in my head because the beat is familiar. Also, instead of using a nicer aromatherapy massage oil I noticed that they use coconut oil straight from the jar. I followed my massage up with a float session, which i was not a fan of. To me it felt slimy, I suppose from all the salt, though I just couldn't relax and get into it, so I jumped out early. read more

I went for my first float last night and it was GREAT! It was a totally new experience for me and I was pleasantly surprised. My +1 and I both got the one hour float and a massage. Every part of the experience was wonderful. I am claustrophobic and despite that I was able to enjoy the experience. The staff was wonderful and understanding about this and made a few suggestions that truly worked! By the end of the session I was floating with the door completely closed and felt quite comfortable and relaxed. Be warned...they have some serious salt up in that bad boy so make sure you don't make the mistake I did. Do not open your purse to grab something right out of the soak. You will end up with flakes of salt on your purse and virtually every place else. Make use of their shower and enjoy the products the supply for you. The massage was the BEST part of the experience. I LOVED it! My +1 and I are both massage connoisseurs which makes us both very picky. We both agreed that these massages were in our top 2...EVER! My therapist was Angie and she was awesome. Only drawback...my table was not heated. After the soak and shower it is a little chilly. Table warmers would be a nice addition. Angie did hook me up with an extra blanket mid-massage that did hit the spot. The only drawback? and it is certainly not much of a drawback...the shortest float they offer is an hour. Although some people soak for hours my ADD got the best of me and I was ready to get out about 45 minutes into the float...at least for the first time anyway. If I were them (and I am certainly not that cool) I would do a lil intro to floating special. 30 minutes would have been perfect as a little "get your feet wet" intro to floating. Yes, stupid pun intended. We will most definitely being back. Don't let the lack of reviews stop you from trying it out. This may be one of the most random locations for a spa but it works. A friend and I were up for an adventure so booked floats and went searching a local neighborhood for Gravity Spa. Besides being in a residential neighborhood it was not hard to find. They have done excellent job inside making it comfy. The staff we met were nice and professional. Plan to go back sometime soon. As for the float and what it is...it was great, very relaxing. I was nervous but it doesn't take long to get use to float chamber. I thought maybe I wouldn't like chamber door closed but I closed it initially because it felt drafty then I adjusted to darkness and it added to the calm. Next time planning to book a package and add a massage. Update: went for a massage and float this week. I really enjoyed the combo and found it very relaxing. This place is great, and the staff is so friendly! I drive up from central KY and its become a monthly ritual for me. I only go to float, but it's definitely worth the drive. I like that the location is in a residential neighborhood. It feels like a really safe place. A place where you can go for a walk in the neighborhood to recollect your thoughts after floating. The prices are really reasonable and booking online is so easy. They have a great website. My only complaint is that I wished I lived a few hours closer. :) read more

Gravity Spa is the best place in Dayton to get a massage. And they have float tanks! Rare to find this cool opportunity in a smaller area. Def a must try! They have any easy to use online booking site (which I love!) and super friendly staff. I've had a couples massage there, which of course was excellent! And I've continued to go floats and massages. Tony (aka Anthony) is the man! He's super passionate about his craft and knows the human body! Went for a massage. Place was located in an odd neighborhood setting made me think I was going to the wrong location. Upon entering the Spa the vibe was totally chill. Staff all spoke softly and made me very comfortable. Massage therapist Angie did a great job. She used just the right amount of pressure and really helped me relax. The 60 minutes simply flew by and had me wanting a longer time. Customer service was excellent ambiance was nice once inside the building and the staff was incredible. After our initial, somewhat mediocre experience at Gravity, Jules and I attempted to look elsewhere for a new massage parlor. However, after a failed experiment with GroupOn, which nearly cost us a fair amount of money, we decided to give Gravity another run. And, really? I'm glad we did. I addressed some of the issues that I'd had in my earlier massage and the staff were quick to respond appropriately and make things better this time around. In this massage session, my masseuse worked the areas I'd asked for thoroughly and powerfully. In addition, after working my hips for a bit, she noted some irregularity--particularly after her massage motion actually popped my hip joint!--that she recommended having a chiropractor check out. I'm still hunting for a chiropractor, but her honesty and knowledge were refreshing. I'll definitely be back to Gravity; hopefully, that'll be sooner, rather than later! read more

Review I will NEVER be going back to Gravity Spa, nor will I EVER recommend going to see them. I am completely disgusted with their complete negligence and their complete FAILURE at customer service. 3 weeks ago, I booked a 90 minutes couples massage for my husband and I. We counted down the days until this massage we were so excited. time. We drove 20 minutes and finally get there to be asked "you marked you were pregnant on your form. Is that true?" I replied Yes and that I was 29 weeks along and the front desk lady then proceeds to tell me Yeah we don't actually have a certified prenatal masseuse in house today so unfortunately you'll have to reschedule. Fucking excuse me? I put this appointment in 3 weeks ago. I called them 2 days before the appointment to tell them we couldn't get the link for the waiver to work. During that call, they did the appointment confirmation call for me. They then called my husband the next day to confirm his appointment. They then called the day of the appointment to tell my husband they had to change his masseuse because the one we booked with had a covid exposure. So you're telling me, with 3 weeks notice and 3 phone calls, NOT ONE PERSON BOTHERED TO LOOK AT THE SYSTEM TO SEE I MARKED THAT I WAS PREGNANT AND TAKE THE NECESSARY STEPS TO ENSURE MY APPOINTMENT WAS GOOD TO GO?! NOT ONE. They then proceed to say "Well the only thing you could do is the float tank but you'd have less than an hour. But don't worry, your husband still good for his massage!" Which was a complete fucking slap in the face at that point. So I asked "I waited 3 weeks for this appointment and now have to reschedule, am I going to have to wait another 3 weeks?" And their answer was "well we can't guarantee anything since we book up so fast so...." Another lady then appears and says "Do you have a doctors note?" It wasn't enough they didn't look at my form 3 weeks ago to see I marked that I was pregnant. It wasn't enough that they didn't ensure a masseuse was available for a prenatal massage for my appointment. I apparently wouldn't have been able to get a massage anyway BECAUSE THEY FAILED TO TELL ME YOU APPARENTLY ALSO NEED A DOCTORS NOTE. I have never been so fucking disgusted and angry in my life. 3 fucking weeks I waited and looked forward to this just to be shot down AT my appointment. I did EVERYTHING I was told to do, but they couldn't do their fucking job and do what they were supposed to. They have ensured that they will never receive my business nor will I ever recommend going there. read more

I went in expecting to have a nice relaxing time In the flotation... as soon as I got in, I smashed my thumb nail in the door-bruising my thumb, which was a bad start, and then I got out because I couldn't relax, to find out I only had one towel. So I had to reuse my dirty towel from the salt when I showered, which made the shower almost pointless. The entire time I showered the curtain kept blowing into the showering sticking to me, which wasn't relaxing in the slightest. Overall I expected much more from this experience. I got out of the tank 45 minutes early and they only reduced my price to half, when they probably should've compensated the entire thing for how horrible of a time I had. They also didn't offer any other spa treatment (such as a massage) or anything to compensate. Very dissapointed read more

Can't speak on the new issues with recent cleanliness. I went a few times in 2018 and once in early 2019 and the staff was great. I appreciate the discounts out there for the floats and would suggest all new people to float 1.5 hours or more to get the full experience. It's very enjoyable and relaxing but takes me about 30-45 minutes to clear my head and get comfortable. read more

Absolutely NEEDED a massage due to ridiculous stress while preparing for a huge test (my entire professional future riding on it) and couldn't get in with my regular therapist. She personally recommended Christina from Gravity, who was able to get me in quickly. The staff was amazing from the first call and Christina understood exactly what I wanted/needed after we spoke briefly. Let me say that I have had many massages from various places all over Dayton and know what my body needs. I knew within the first 3 minutes with Christina that my muscles were going to get exactly what was needed to work out the stress and leave me relaxed and energized for my test. Like most reviews the location is odd, but nonetheless I had an amazing experience. I did a 90 minute float (first time floater) and a 60 minute massage afterwards. The float was weird at first, you actually have to almost force yourself to relax because your muscles want to tense up automatically because your floating. One thing I would have liked to have was the ambient music playing as you get in and play for 5 minutes or so and then shut off. I loved that it plays when your time is up so to hear it getting in the tank would kind of set the mood a little more. When I got out, I felt super relaxed and (euphoric)? Not sure, but it was awesome! The staff was excellent and the massage (Sam) did a great job on my back, had a lot of tension in there and he broke it up good. I will definitely go back! read more

Angie and Kylie are usually my massage therapist. Both are really sweet and do very well with hitting problem areas. I love this place so much and when my mother and sister came to visit me a few months ago we all went there for a massage and they were very happy and please with the warmth of the staff and loved the atmosphere of the inside. The rooms are so relaxing and comfortable. All the staff is so nice, and that is why I keep returning every few months for a massage. I have tried the float but got very anxious and was not able to stay in the full hour, I did about 40 minutes. I do plan to try the float again in the future. read more
