I have been a client at Venetian for about 6 months now and usually get acrylic nails with a fill in every 2 weeks. While the services were adequate their business ethics were anything but acceptable. On at least 3 occasions I have been over charged for services rendered. The first time was with Tiene. I let it go and as always, tipped 20%. The second time the nail tech (I dont remember her name) tried to charge me the full price. I reminded her of the actual price and she pretended she didnt know. The last time was with Nathan. I received a full set of nails but he continuously tried to upgrade the service at least 5 times and had attitude when I explained my preferences each and every time. When I was ready to check out, I was given an invoice for another upcharge of $10 not normally charged for the service. ok I get it. $10 overcharge is not going to kill me. Yes, first world problems. However I will be taking my business elsewhere to a place i can be comfortable without feeling like they are going to hustle me every time I step foot in there! You lost a steady client because of your poor ethics. I hope it was worth it! read more

I went today to do a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure went okay but the manicure didn't. He didn't trim my cuticles right and then he used the base coat as a top coat which made my nails sticky and the nail polish came off whenever I touch anything even after my nails dried. Save yourself the trip! I asked for French SNS with a chrome finish. The white dip barely showed up after she shaped and filed my nails. I asked her to put white gel in an even line that connects (like any french manicure would) she said it was my fault for moving so much. The only times I moved was when she was drilling the skin around my finger and I said ouch! Otherwise, I was just sitting there listening to my podcast. The one time I went to touch my phone (for a literal split second) she yelled at me to stop moving! Moments after I sat down, one of the nail techs long time customers came in, and she left me to go tend to her. Then rushed through my design so she could take her favorite client. I was not pleased with the rushed efforts and asked her to perfect a few areas which just made her upset. She was doing my nails progressively more aggressively with every request I made. I was not happy leaving the salon but I didn't want her to hurt me anymore than she already did. It was clear she has no intention of delivering quality service to me. This has got to be the worst manicure of my life! This was after I cleaned them up a little bit myself with the scrub brush at the sink. I was just ready to leave after that awful experience, so figured I'll just take care of the rest at home. I cannot believe this was her finished result. Especially cannot believe I paid nearly $100 for this prices do NOT reflect the quality of service, or lack there of. Idk how she was rushing but it still took 2 hours to complete. Don't go here. My friend and I have been here at least three times; I guess we're too forgiving. When I got a pedicure, it was pretty good. But the times that I've had my fingernails done, they were BRUTAL. The last time we went, we both left with a bloody finger or two, and my fingers were sore for a couple of days because of the tech scratching my skin with the nail file. My friend's fingers were worse off than mine. Though my nails turned out beautiful, they are not the color I wanted nor the design at all because the tech and I couldn't understand each other. I came to this nail spa a few years ago and had quite a horrible experience but I am now glad that I gave them another try. The Nail Spa could use some updates but has nice selections in color and services. I went for a dip with tip. Hong my designer was very nice and accommodating. He made sure that I liked his work- and yes I love my nails. I didn't like how cramped you are sitting at the tables. The chairs at the stations are almost touching each other and there is absolutely no room for your jacket or purse. I ended up having my stuff on the floor between my feet- not ideal. However- I left happy, my nails still look beautiful even after two weeks. I would highly suggest to request Hong since his work is impeccable. read more

I use to frequently come to the Venetian nail salon. It has been a year and 7 months since my last appointment. I stopped going because the nail tech Wendy stopped accepting my appointments for no apparent reason. I decided to go back there because the salon I'd usually go to was closed. I told the receptionist I wanted a mani/pedi topped off with gel polish. Now before things get started I informed the nail tech to of the lifting overlay. I tell her I want to soak my nails and remove the overlay. She says, I just need a fill-in. She claimed my real nails would be to weak to handle. I told her that's what I wanted but she insisted that I only need a fill-in. The staff that I was dealing with was very unprofessional, and seemed to rush when it came to clients of African American descent. This salon staff is prejudice and disrespectful. The 250.00 I spent was not worth the money or my time! When asked how I enjoyed the service, I mentioned I was not happy and all they had to say was "okay". Pretty place, large dip powder collection, but I'm disappointed in my first trip to a nail salon. The tech smelled like cigarette smoke. My cuticles were very long and had to be trimmed which is fine, but the tech DESTROYED them and acted as if it was my fault for holding my finders too stiffly. Nothing was done about the fact that my cuticles were bleeding until the very end. He dipped my bloody fingers into the jar of dip powder, and brushed them with acetone(?) wash (OUCH!) which didn't register to me as gross until much later because I've never had anyone else touch my nails. Very polite and considerate. The only awkward thing was that it took the tech doing my friend's feet longer than the tech who did my feet. So, I had to sit there and wait almost 10min for my friend to be done. Made me fell a little awkward; like my tech rushed a bit. I'll just tell myself it's because my feet were already in such great condition, though. :) Other than that, lovely place, seemed clean. Not everyone was wearing gloves or masks, though. To anyone who is considering going here - choose any other place. Believe me when I say that this salon used to be my favorite place to go to when I needed to get my nails done or wanted a pedicure... I loved this salon for YEARS. I never minded having to pay more at this salon because the quality was phenomenal. I hadn't visited Venetian for over a year and wanted to get my nails done before I left for vacation. I was expecting the quality of service that I had seen so many times... However, it seems that recently this salon and spa has drastically gone downhill. I am absolutely shocked at the poor quality of service and overall turn out my nails after having paid $60 (not including tip) and letting the nail technician (Lilly) look at a picture on my phone of the look and design I had in mind. First of all, she was on her phone constantly. She would take breaks from filing my nails to send a text and spend several minutes typing up something to send to another client who kept rescheduling (she told me this). I've never had a nail technician be so consumed by their phone while their with a customer before. However, I noticed several other employees doing the same. It was so inappropriate and unprofessional and made me think that she felt like I wasn't as important as her other customers. The phone issue happened repeatedly and added extra time to how long I would have preferred to be at the salon for. Also, it was clear that her phone distracted her from doing her job effectively. I asked for ombré french nails (picture on the left in collage attached) and I even made the picture I asked her to use for reference the background on my phone so she could see it whenever she needed to. She said she had done many ombré nails recently and that it was in style so I was extremely surprised when my nails turned out to look absolutely nothing like what I had expected them to. She seemed perfectly fine with the result, even telling me to come back in 3 weeks to get a new set with her. I was in a rush to get home to finish packing for my vacation so I didn't bother asking her to fix it. Instead, I bought a nail polish from Kroger and will be painting over the tacky design as soon as I get the chance. I will not be returning ever again after this visit... I'm very upset that this place has turned into such a joke and that I'm now out of sixty plus dollars. Hopefully the manager or owner of this place gets their staff to pull it together or it gets bought out by a better salon. read more

Went to salon for a full set of acrylic nails. My tech insisted on dip several times. I had to argue with her that, that wasnt what I wanted. Then, when I asked her to cut them down, as I type a lot at work, she told me SHE liked them long. Again, had to insist she do what I wanted. She was rough with my nails. 2 fingers were bleeding when she was done and then, it cost $75?! She was loud and obnoxious and only spoke in her native language which I think is rude. Will never go back and will discourage anyone else to go there. Terrible service. Nails aren't supposed to painful for 3 days following a manicure. read more

Illusions Nail Spa (across the parking lot and near Table 3) has always been my go-to but I have been curious to try Venetian for quite some time. I called ahead to make an appointment in 30 minutes and they were able to seat me right away when I came in. Nice selection of trendy OPI colors is the first stop and they offered the same refreshment service as Illusions. I opted for water on this go around since it was 11am but wine is a great way to unwind with a pedicure, right? My technician Anna was professional, efficient, and offered up one of the better manicures and pedicures that I have had in awhile. I have been going non-stop lately so the condition of my hands and feet were pretty scraggly but she brought them back up to presentable condition. Trust me when I say that I beat my nails up pretty bad as I have been picking at them but she glossed it all over. My Venetian Pedicure ($35) and Spa Manicure ($15) were part of a package for only $47. (I'll take a $3 savings any day!) I would suggest upgrading from the Spa Pedicure ($28) because for an extra $7, you get extra exfoliation and an upgraded massage experience. Totally worth it if you make it work in your budget! I appreciate how quickly my services took as well! I clocked in right at an hour and that included some drying time for my nails too. It didn't feel rushed at all either. My only gripe was this location felt more cramped than Illusions but it could just be because it was pretty busy with all the ladies primping their tootsies before the weekend. The overall space is decorated tastefully, upscale, and clean. And, the staff is very nice and friendly. A "not-so-nice" customer (who resembled Miss Piggy BTW) was glaringly rude to the Anna my technician in front of me. I'm talking snob to the max but Anna just smiled and took the high road. I however smirked at Miss Piggy and suggested that she hop in her Mercedes (she talked loudly about her car and waved the key around) and drive to the nearest etiquette class.... hope that Kermit meets her there. THIS PLACE SUCKS!!! They do NOT know what they're doing. I asked for acrylics and for them to be in the "coffin" shape. Look at the pictures -- do these look like the coffin shape?! At first glance you may think so but no they're not. They made my nails look wider than they are and then become more narrow to try to make the coffin shape. Instead of making it wider they're supposed to stay aligned with the shape of your natural nail and then become the coffin shape. In the 2nd picture you can see how the nails curve instead of staying straight on the sides. They should not curve in any way. Even when I pointed things like this out to the nail tech she tried to argue with me and scoff trying to make me feel stupid. Who argues with the customer when it's THEIR nails?!
